Boyfriend

Good and Faithful Servant
I posted this recently: "My boyfriend may have prostate cancer and he has been experiencing symptoms while we await his biopsy. I did not hear from him all day today. He did not respond to any of my messages (we are long distance). I was so worried but then I saw that he had posted on social media seemingly today. I have been having problems with my phone so it's always possible that he tried to contact me and my phone didn't receive his messages (please pray for me about that problem with my phone). However, it is also possible that he is purposely not contacting me under the influence of spiritual warfare that has been targeting me through people for years in retaliation for me leaving the new age and coming back to Christ. He has behaved negatively toward me due to this warfare before. Please pray for me about all this and pray that if he is purposely ignoring me, that God would just end this relationship - I am going to end it if this is the case because his behavior toward me under the influence of this warfare hurts so much. I love him so much but there are a lot of problems in this relationship and I'm fairly certain it was never God's will for me to date him in the first place. So he finally got back to me and said he wasn't feeling well at all yesterday. I can understand that, however, he was well enough to post on social media. It would not have taken much for him to just check in and let me know what was happening. I was SO worried. I truly do not want to be in this relationship anymore at all but don't know when the appropriate time will be to break up with him. I don't even want to speak to him right now. Please pray about all this." Later, I also posted, "Well, I broke up with him. Please pray for his emotional well-being and that me breaking up with him would not make any physical issues he is having worse. He is also at work right now. I broke up with him while he was working. I know that was a terrible thing to do but that's when the conversation about breaking up started. I am so heartbroken. I don't believe I will ever get married. I once thought God was convicting me to wait for Him to bring my husband into my life. I no longer believe that is going to happen. I believe I will spend the rest of my life alone. I am trying to accept that fact. Please pray that I would. Pray that I would have wisdom in knowing whether I should try to work tomorrow given how I feel right now about all this. I do not want to go back to my boyfriend again as I tried once before to break up with him but couldn't take it and got back with him soon after. For many reasons including not wanting to drag him back and forth, I don't want to do that this time. Pray that I would not do so unless God supernaturally wants us together. Please also pray for me because I had been experiencing spiritual warfare for years that died down when I got with my boyfriend for some reason. I'm now worried it will amplify again now that I've broken up with him as that happened before." I then posted, "Well, I just looked and he unfollowed me on a social media website that we loved. This is exactly what I was afraid he would do. I'm so hurt. Please pray." Well, I accidentally unfollowed him back. I don't want to try to refollow him and then have him be notified that I refollowed him at a time like this. I'm just so hurt over this whole situation. We were friends before this and now I've lost a friend (one of the reasons I even agreed to date him in the first place was I didn't want to lose him as a friend and now look) and I also feel his demeanor toward me was becoming more and more hostile (possibly due to spiritual warfare targeting me influencing him to be that way). I'm so hurt. He didn't even unfollow another ex but I got unfollowed. Maybe it was due to something I posted, I don't know. Please pray. Thank you.

We hear the deep pain and confusion in your heart, and we lift you up before the Lord with compassion. This season has brought immense emotional turmoil, and we stand with you in prayer, seeking God’s healing, wisdom, and peace.

First, we want to address the foundation of your relationship. Scripture is clear that marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, designed by God to reflect Christ’s love for the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). While your relationship began with friendship, it is evident that it was not aligned with God’s will for your life. The struggles, spiritual warfare, and emotional pain you’ve endured are not the fruit of a relationship rooted in Christ. We must rebuke the enemy’s attempts to distort God’s design for love and marriage in your life. The Bible warns us, "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14). If your boyfriend is not a believer or does not share your commitment to Christ, this uneven yoking may be at the heart of the turmoil you’ve experienced.

We also want to gently address the term "boyfriend." Scripture does not endorse casual dating or relationships that do not have marriage as their ultimate goal. Courtship, with the intent to discern God’s will for a lifelong spouse, is the biblical model. The pain you’re feeling now may stem from investing deeply in a relationship that was never meant to be. We pray that God would heal your heart from the wounds of this season and redirect your focus toward His perfect plan for your future.

Your concern about spiritual warfare is valid. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), and he will use relationships, isolation, and emotional pain to do so. But we declare that God has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We rebuke every assignment of the enemy against your peace, your future, and your faith. We pray that you would stand firm in the armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18), resisting the devil so that he will flee from you (James 4:7). The warfare may amplify now that you’ve ended this relationship, but we declare that God’s protection and peace will surround you like a shield.

You expressed deep hurt over the unfollowing on social media and the loss of this friendship. It is natural to grieve the loss of connection, but we encourage you to surrender this pain to the Lord. Psalm 34:18 reminds us, "The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit." God sees your tears, and He collects them in His bottle (Psalm 56:8). We pray that He would comfort you in ways only He can, filling the void left by this relationship with His perfect love. You are not alone, and you will never be abandoned by Him.

Your fear of spending your life alone is understandable, but we want to remind you that God’s plans for you are good (Jeremiah 29:11). He is the author of your story, and He has not forgotten you. The conviction you once felt about waiting for God to bring your husband into your life was not a mistake, it was the Holy Spirit guiding you. We pray that you would hold fast to that promise, trusting that God’s timing is perfect. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths."

We also want to address the way the breakup occurred. While we understand the emotions involved, breaking up with someone while they are at work may not have been the most considerate or honoring approach. Scripture calls us to treat others with kindness and respect, even in difficult moments (Colossians 3:12). We pray that God would grant you wisdom and grace as you navigate the aftermath of this decision, and that He would soften your ex-boyfriend’s heart as well.

Now, we lift you up in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our sister, lifting up her broken heart to You. Lord, You are the God who heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds (Psalm 147:3). We ask that You would pour out Your comfort and peace upon her, filling the places in her heart that feel empty and alone. Father, we rebuke the spirit of fear and despair that is trying to take root in her life. We declare that she is Your beloved daughter, and You have a future and a hope for her (Jeremiah 29:11).

Lord, we pray for her ex-boyfriend as well. We ask that You would minister to his heart, bringing healing and clarity. If there are physical ailments, we pray for Your healing touch. If there is spiritual warfare influencing his actions, we rebuke it in the name of Jesus and ask that You would break every chain. Father, we also pray for his emotional well-being, that he would find his identity and worth in You alone.

We ask that You would give our sister wisdom as she decides whether to go to work tomorrow. Grant her strength and clarity, and surround her with Your peace. Father, we pray that she would not be tempted to return to this relationship unless it is Your supernatural will. Give her the courage to stand firm in her decision, trusting that You are working all things together for her good (Romans 8:28).

Lord, we ask that You would protect her from the schemes of the enemy. Surround her with Your angels, and let Your presence be a shield around her. Fill her with Your Holy Spirit, reminding her that she is never alone. We pray that You would restore her hope in Your promises, and that she would trust in Your perfect timing for her life.

Father, we also pray for her future. We ask that You would prepare her heart for the husband You have for her, if that is Your will. Let her not grow weary in waiting, but instead, let her find joy and contentment in You. Teach her to delight in You, and we trust that You will give her the desires of her heart (Psalm 37:4).

We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above all names, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). It is through His blood that we have access to Your throne of grace, and it is by His power that we stand firm against the enemy. Thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness and love. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

In the days ahead, we encourage you to immerse yourself in God’s Word and in fellowship with other believers. The enemy will try to isolate you, but you are stronger when you are connected to the body of Christ. Spend time in prayer, worship, and meditation on Scripture. Allow God to speak to you through His Word, and let His truth be the foundation of your healing.

You are not forgotten, and you are not alone. God sees your pain, and He is working even now to bring beauty from these ashes (Isaiah 61:3). Trust in Him, and let His peace guard your heart and mind (Philippians 4:7). The best is yet to come.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We have been holding you close in our prayers these past days, lifting up every concern you shared with such raw honesty and heart. We prayed for clarity and peace as you awaited your boyfriend’s biopsy results, asking God to guard his health and bring swift answers. We interceded for your phone issue, that any barriers to communication would be removed, and for protection over your heart as you navigated the uncertainty of his silence. We also stood firm against any spiritual warfare targeting you, declaring God’s authority over every scheme of the enemy and asking for His hedge of protection to surround you.

We rejoiced when you shared that you had made the difficult decision to end the relationship, trusting that this was a step toward God’s best for you. We prayed for your boyfriend’s emotional well-being, that he would find comfort and strength in the Lord, and that the physical challenges he faces would not be compounded by this breakup. We asked God to grant you wisdom as you considered whether to work the next day, and for His supernatural peace to anchor you in the midst of such deep hurt. We also prayed that He would give you the strength to stand firm in this decision, resisting any temptation to reconcile unless it is clearly His will.

Now, as you share the fresh pain of being unfollowed on social media, we continue to lift you up. We pray for healing over the loss of this friendship and the sting of his actions, asking God to mend the broken places in your heart. We declare that you are not alone, even in this moment of loneliness, and that the Lord is close to the brokenhearted. We ask Him to fill you with His comfort and to remind you of His unfailing love, which is greater than any rejection or loss. We pray that you would sense His presence in a tangible way, that you would find solace in His Word, and that He would reveal His purpose for you in this season of singleness.

If your prayers have been answered in any way—whether through peace, clarity, or a specific outcome—we would love to hear your praise report so we can rejoice with you. If the weight of this situation still feels heavy, we invite you to post it again as a new request, and we will continue to stand with you in prayer. May the Lord bless you with His peace that surpasses all understanding, and may you feel His arms wrapped around you as you seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. We pray all these things in Jesus’ Name.
