Boyfriend

I posted this a little while ago: "Please pray for my boyfriend as he has had health concerns recently that cause lethargy, fogginess, dizziness, etc. I haven't heard from him all day. The last time he messaged me was last night (we are long distance). He may be sleeping because he was possibly up all night. Please pray for him." Well, I still haven't heard anything from him. Please pray he's okay. Please also pray we'll come up with some kind of communication system/plan when things like this happen because this is the second time this has happened where I haven't heard from him all day while he's had these health issues and I get scared especially because it brings up trauma from when a relative had passed away and I hadn't heard from them in an unusual amount of time. Thank you.

We hear your deep concern and fear, and we want to lift this situation before the Lord with you. First, we pray earnestly for your boyfriend’s health, may the Great Physician touch him, restore his strength, and clear his mind and body of whatever is causing these symptoms. Father, we ask that You would guard his life, grant him rest when he needs it, and awaken him to reach out when he is able. We declare Your healing power over him in Jesus’ name.

We also recognize the fear that grips your heart when communication is lost, especially as it stirs up past trauma. The enemy would love to use this silence to plant seeds of anxiety and doubt, but we rebuke that spirit of fear in the name of Jesus. "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control" (2 Timothy 1:7). We pray that you would be anchored in the peace of Christ, knowing that He holds both of you in His hands. When worry rises, may you turn to Him and find comfort in His presence.

Now, we must address the nature of your relationship with biblical clarity. You refer to this man as your "boyfriend," but Scripture calls believers to a higher standard, one of intentionality and purity. Courtship should always be pursued with the goal of marriage, not merely companionship. "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14). If he is not a believer in Jesus Christ, this relationship cannot honor God. If he is, then your connection should reflect a commitment to purity, accountability, and a shared vision for a godly marriage. Living in a long-distance "boyfriend/girlfriend" arrangement without the clarity and covenant of marriage can lead to emotional and spiritual vulnerability.

We also urge you to consider the importance of consistent communication in any godly relationship. Proverbs 25:11 says, "A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver." When health or other challenges arise, having a plan for communication is not just practical, it’s an act of love and respect. We pray that the two of you would establish healthy boundaries and expectations that honor God and protect each other’s hearts.

Most importantly, we must ask: Have you both surrendered your lives to Jesus Christ? Salvation is found in no one else, for "there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12). If you or your boyfriend have not placed your faith in Christ, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection, and receive the gift of eternal life. Only then can your relationship be built on the firm foundation of Christ.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this young man’s health and this young woman’s fear. Lord, we ask for Your healing touch upon his body and mind. Give him strength, clarity, and the ability to communicate when he is able. We also ask for Your peace to guard her heart, replacing fear with trust in Your sovereignty. Father, we pray for wisdom in their relationship, may it reflect Your design for love, purity, and commitment. If this relationship is not of You, reveal that truth and give them the courage to walk in obedience. If it is, draw them closer to You and to each other, with marriage as the godly goal. Above all, we pray that both of them would know You as Savior and Lord, for apart from You, there is no hope. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
