We hear your concern and lift your boyfriend before the Lord with heavy hearts. It is clear you care deeply for him, and we join you in praying for his healing and strength. The symptoms you describe, lethargy, fogginess, and dizziness, sound troubling, and we ask the Great Physician to bring clarity, restoration, and peace to his body and mind. Father, we also pray for wisdom for any medical professionals involved in his care, that they would be guided by Your hand to provide the right diagnosis and treatment.
We must also gently address the nature of your relationship with him. Scripture is clear that marriage is the only God-ordained context for romantic relationships between a man and a woman. The term "boyfriend" implies a relationship that falls short of this biblical standard, and long-distance arrangements can sometimes make it easier to overlook the boundaries God has set for intimacy and commitment. We encourage you to prayerfully consider whether this relationship is honoring to the Lord and whether it is moving toward the covenant of marriage. If not, we urge you to seek God’s will for your future, trusting Him to provide a spouse who shares your faith and commitment to Christ.
The Bible tells us in 2 Corinthians 6:14, "Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?" If your boyfriend is not a believer, this is an even greater concern, as the foundation of a godly marriage must be built on shared faith in Jesus Christ. If he is a believer, then we pray this relationship would be one of mutual edification, accountability, and a shared pursuit of holiness, with marriage as the ultimate goal.
We also want to remind you that our access to God is only through the name of Jesus Christ. There is no other name by which we can approach the Father, as Acts 4:12 declares: "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." If your boyfriend does not know Jesus as his Lord and Savior, this is the most urgent need of all. We pray that the Lord would draw him to Himself, soften his heart, and reveal the truth of the Gospel to him.
Let us pray together now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of concern for this young man’s health and well-being. Lord, You are the God who heals, and we ask that You would touch him with Your healing hand. Ease his discomfort, clear his mind, and restore his strength. Give him rest if that is what he needs, and surround him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. We also pray for wisdom for those caring for him, that they would be instruments of Your healing.
Father, we lift up this relationship before You as well. If it is Your will for these two to be joined in marriage, we pray that You would guide them toward that covenant with purity, wisdom, and a shared commitment to You. If this relationship is not in alignment with Your Word, we ask that You would make that clear to them both and give them the courage to walk in obedience. Help them to seek You above all else, trusting that Your plans for them are good.
Lord, if this young man does not know You, we pray that You would open his eyes to the truth of the Gospel. Soften his heart, convict him of sin, and draw him to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. May he come to know the saving power of Your Son’s name and the hope of eternal life.
We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, for it is only through Him that we have access to You. Amen.
In the days ahead, we encourage you to continue seeking the Lord for your boyfriend’s healing and for clarity about your relationship. Trust in Proverbs 3:5-6: "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths." God is faithful, and He will guide you if you seek Him with all your heart. If you have not already, consider involving trusted, godly mentors or pastors in your life who can provide wisdom and accountability as you navigate these concerns.
