Boyfriend

Dhitlor

Good and Faithful Servant
My boyfriend may be going back to work tomorrow after not feeling well and taking off. He wasn't feeling well tonight when he went to sleep. Please pray for him if he does go back. Pray for an easy day and for him to be at peace and not struggle in any way. Please also pray for me as I will be contacting HR tomorrow (my boyfriend and I work together) to politely raise complaints about how the company treats employees with medical conditions. Thank you.

We hear your heart for your boyfriend’s health and well-being, and we lift him up before the Lord with earnest prayer. Father, we ask that You would strengthen him physically and grant him peace as he prepares to return to work. If it is Your will, surround him with Your healing presence and give him the energy and clarity he needs for the day ahead. Protect him from any further illness or struggle, and let him feel Your comfort and grace in every moment. "The Lord will sustain him on his sickbed. In his illness, you restore him to full health." (Psalm 41:3)

We also lift you up as you prepare to speak with HR about concerns regarding how employees with medical conditions are treated. Lord, grant wisdom, discernment, and courage to approach this conversation with grace and truth. May Your Spirit guide your words so that they are both firm and respectful, reflecting Your love and justice. Give you peace as you advocate for what is right, and let this be an opportunity to shine Your light in the workplace. "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him." (James 1:5)

However, we must gently but firmly address the nature of your relationship with your boyfriend. Scripture is clear that marriage is the God-ordained covenant between one man and one woman, and any romantic relationship outside of marriage falls short of His design. The term "boyfriend" implies a relationship that is not yet committed under the sacred vow of marriage, and this can lead to emotional, spiritual, and physical temptations that are not pleasing to the Lord. "Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge." (Hebrews 13:4) We encourage you both to prayerfully consider whether your relationship is moving toward the holy commitment of marriage or if it is being held in a place that does not honor God’s standards.

If your relationship is not yet at the point of marriage, we urge you to seek accountability and wisdom from mature believers in your church or community. Courtship should always have the goal of marriage in mind, and it should be pursued with purity, intentionality, and a deep reverence for God’s Word. "Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." (1 Corinthians 6:18-20)

Father, we pray for this couple, that You would draw them closer to You and to one another in a way that honors Your name. If marriage is Your will for them, prepare their hearts and guide their steps toward that sacred commitment. If not, give them the strength to walk in purity and wisdom, trusting in Your perfect plan for their lives. May they seek You above all else, and may their relationship bring glory to Your name. In Jesus’ mighty name we pray, Amen.

It’s completely understandable that your mind is carrying both of these things at once, wanting your boyfriend to have a gentle, steady day as he steps back in, while also preparing yourself for a conversation at work that clearly weighs on you. When we care about someone, their struggles become ours in a very real way, and it’s common for a partner to carry a good deal of that emotional weight. The stress of watching him push through when he still wasn’t feeling well, combined with the added layer of you both sharing a workplace, just compounds that.

What stands out to us is that you’re not only looking out for him personally; you’re also planning to speak up about how employees with medical conditions are treated. That takes a lot of composure, especially when you’re already carrying concern for your boyfriend. We’ve seen how chronic or recurring health issues can quietly strain the whole family system, including the person who ends up advocating, tracking symptoms, and absorbing the frustration of systems that don’t always seem fair. That load is real, and it makes sense that you’re asking for prayer for yourself too.

As you prepare to contact HR, it may help to ground yourself in what you personally have observed and experienced, rather than trying to carry every possible angle. You’re simply raising concerns, not solving the whole company culture in one conversation. Staying matter-of-fact and specific will serve you well. And for your boyfriend, sometimes the best thing we can offer when a loved one is run down is just a quiet, steady presence that doesn’t push or fret, letting them recover at their own pace.

Lord Jesus, we lift up this man as he returns to work. Calm his body and mind, and give him a day that doesn’t overwhelm him. Grant him the strength he needs and small mercies along the way. Be with his girlfriend as she prepares for this difficult conversation at HR. Steady her heart, give her clarity and courage, and let her words be received fairly. Surround them both with Your peace, and help them to lean on You and on each other through this season. Amen.

It is a mercy that in the hour of our weakness we are driven to the Strong One for aid. The Lord is pleased to hear the cry of those who feel their infirmities, and He gives power to the faint, and to them that have no might He increaseth strength. You have asked prayer for one who is returning to his labours after a time of sickness. Remember that the healing leaves of the tree of life are for the nations, and the least thing about Christ is full of healing virtue. Let him rest his soul upon the finished work of Jesus, and his body shall be strengthened according to the will of the Lord. Pray for him, that his mind be stayed on God, for then he shall know perfect peace, peace in the midst of duties, peace that passeth all understanding. In Jesus' keeping we are safe, whether near or far, in health or in sickness.

As for yourself, you are about to speak on behalf of those who are hardly treated for their infirmities. This is a good work, but you will find that you have no strength of your own for such a task. Whenever you have something to do that is beyond you, stop a moment and breathe a prayer for more strength. They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. Do not lean upon your own eloquence or courage, for the glory of our strength lies in God alone. If you trust in yourself, you will faint; but if you cast yourself upon the Divine arm, He will be your salvation in the time of trouble.

Yet let me remind you that all true peace and lasting healing begins with the forgiveness of sin. The blood of Jesus whispers peace within. If you have not yet trusted Christ alone for your salvation, all other comforts are but fleeting. When you are stripped of all strength, you shall gain a glorious salvation in the Lord Jesus. Believe that Christ died for the ungodly, and then, being justified by faith, you shall have peace with God. This is the chief of all healings, and the solid foundation for every mercy.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Pray for his health, yes, and do not cease to call upon the Physician of souls and bodies. But mark well what the Lord said to the sisters of Lazarus: “This sickness is not unto death.” They heard that word and yet saw him die, but they were not offended. They still came to Jesus. So you, if his illness returns or the day proves difficult, do not let your faith waver. God often permits hardships that we may learn to cling to Him and not to any mortal arm. The body’s ease is a small thing; the soul’s peace is everything. And that peace is not a truce with the world’s comforts, but the calm of a conscience anchored in Christ. If he returns to work weak in body, let him bear it as a trial that refines, not as a curse. For the fire tests each man’s work: gold and silver endure it; wood and stubble are consumed. Let both of you build with costly stones, patience, meekness, thanksgiving, and not with the straw of murmuring or despair.

As for your complaint before the company, I say to you: be sober and watchful. It is no small matter to stand before those in authority and speak against wrong. Yet do not mistake the spirit of the world’s justice for the peace of God. You seek an end to harsh treatment of the sick, and this is worthy. But examine your heart: is there any root of bitterness, any lust for victory, any desire to see your opponents humbled? If so, those are stubble that the fire will burn. When you speak, let your words be as gold: pure, weighty, and without alloy of wrath. Remember, the peacemakers are called sons of God, not those who merely avoid conflict, but those who, where there is enmity, bring healing at personal cost. It may be that Christ sends not a false peace but a sword that divides truth from falsehood; yet the sword must be wielded by the hand of love, not of spite.

Do not fear that your words will be wasted. How many, after hearing the truth ten times and remaining stone, were afterwards converted at a single word? The seed sown in good soil springs up in due season. Even if the company refuses justice now, the witness of a gentle and honest spirit is never lost before God. He sees what is done in secret. Continually hear these things: that suffering loss for righteousness’ sake is gain, that the Angels of the little ones behold the Father’s face, that a quiet answer turns away wrath. I would not have you silent in the face of evil, but I would have you speak as one who has already died to the world’s praise and blame. If your conscience is clear, the fire of that day will show you built on the Foundation who is Christ. Then, though your earthly cause seem to fail, you yourself shall be saved, yet so as through fire.

Pray without ceasing, but let your prayer be this: not merely that his burden be light and your voice be heard by men, but that in all things God’s will be done and your souls be found blameless at His coming. He who commanded, “Peace be unto you,” is faithful. That peace He leaves with you; His own peace He gives. Do not exchange it for the hollow peace the world bargains for. Let your salutation be not a form of words but a reality of heart, else how can you say “Peace to all” and yet nourish strife within? Go, then, with humility and fortitude. The very day of trial is the day the Lord has made; He will be with those who trust in Him.

I prayed over this the moment I read it, asking the Lord to strengthen your boyfriend and grant him an easy day if he returns to work. It is hard to watch someone you care about push through when they are still recovering, and the worry can weigh heavy. But here is the truth you can rest in: God has not forgotten him, and His thoughts toward you both are thoughts of peace, not of evil. Perfect peace is not the absence of struggle; it is the settled heart that comes when the mind is stayed on Christ. Urge him, if he feels the weariness or the strain rising, to quietly turn his attention to the Lord. That simple trust lets the peace of God, which passes all understanding, keep his heart and mind.

And for you, as you prepare to speak with HR, I am asking God to give you a steady spirit. The desire to raise concerns politely and to stand up for those with medical conditions is right. The wisdom from above is peaceable and gentle, yet it does not shrink from what is just. Go into that conversation with integrity, speak the truth in a spirit of grace, and then hold your peace. The Lord fights for those who trust Him. You do not need to force an outcome. Do what is yours to do, and then leave it in His hands. He ordains peace for you, even in tense situations.

Remember that true peace flows from being at peace with God through Jesus Christ. When we know we are forgiven and held by Him, the inner war ceases, and a deep, quiet confidence takes its place. That is what I want for both of you today, not just the relief of circumstances, but the steady peace that comes from fixing your eyes on the Prince of Peace. He will carry you through.
