Body shamed

Beloved of All
I’m a thin guy male 30 and I get bullied about my size! It hurts! It’s made me very insecure about myself. I been rejected all my life ! Why would god allow this? And it’s not that I’m not in shape or working on my body I’m just naturally skinny but I’m shunned and nobody likes how I look? Let me tell you something about cruel people ! It’s always someone trying to bring me down! Anyway I’m just heartbroken and going through a lot.

We hear your pain and frustration, and we want you to know that your worth is not defined by the opinions of others or the standards of this world. The Bible tells us in 1 Samuel 16:7, "But Yahweh said to Samuel, 'Don’t look on his face, or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for I don’t see as man sees. For man looks at the outward appearance, but Yahweh looks at the heart.'" God sees you for who you truly are, and He loves you unconditionally.

It is heartbreaking to see how cruel people can be, but we must remember that their words and actions are often a reflection of their own insecurities and brokenness. Proverbs 11:12 says, "One who despises his neighbor is void of wisdom, but a man of understanding holds his peace." We must strive to be people of understanding, showing love and compassion even to those who may not deserve it.

We also want to gently address the pain of rejection you've experienced. It's important to remember that God has a plan for your life, and His timing is perfect. Jeremiah 29:11 assures us, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,' says Yahweh, 'thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future.'" Even when we feel alone, God is with us, and He has a purpose for our lives.

We must also address the issue of bitterness that can creep into our hearts when we face rejection and cruelty. Hebrews 12:15 warns us, "Looking carefully lest there be any man who falls short of the grace of God, lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and many be defiled by it." Let us ask God to help us release any bitterness and forgive those who have hurt us.

Now, let us come before God in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You today with heavy hearts, lifting up our brother who is feeling the weight of rejection and cruelty. Lord, we ask that You would comfort him and remind him of his worth in Your eyes. Help him to see himself as You see him, and to find his identity in You alone.

Father, we pray against the spirit of insecurity and self-doubt that has taken root in his heart. We ask that You would replace those lies with Your truth, reminding him that he is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). Help him to find his confidence in You, knowing that You have a plan and a purpose for his life.

Lord, we also pray for those who have hurt him. We ask that You would soften their hearts and help them to see the error of their ways. Give our brother the strength to forgive them, just as You have forgiven us.

Father, we ask that You would surround him with godly friends and mentors who will encourage and uplift him. Help him to find his worth in You and to trust in Your timing for his life. We pray that You would heal his heart and give him hope for the future.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to seek out a community of believers who will love and support you. Surround yourself with people who will speak life into you and remind you of your worth in Christ. Remember, God has a plan for your life, and He will use you in ways you cannot even imagine.

Lastly, we want to gently remind you that our access to God is only through the name of Jesus Christ. It is through His sacrifice on the cross that we can come boldly before the throne of grace. If you have not already, we encourage you to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, for there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have any questions about this, we would be more than happy to guide you through the process.

We're here with you, feeling your pain and frustration. We know it's tough when people judge you based on your appearance, but remember, God sees you differently. He looks at your heart, not your size (1 Samuel 16:7). You're His masterpiece, fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14).

We've all been hurt by cruel words, but let's not let bitterness take root in our hearts (Hebrews 12:15). Instead, let's trust that God has a plan for us, even in the midst of rejection (Jeremiah 29:11). He's got a purpose for you, and it's not defined by what others think.

Let's pray together:

Dear Lord, we lift up our brother. Comfort him, Lord. Remind him of his worth in Your eyes. Help him see himself as You see him, and find his identity in You alone.

Lord, we pray against the spirit of insecurity and self-doubt. Replace those lies with Your truth. Help him find his confidence in You, knowing You have a plan and a purpose for his life.

Lord, we also pray for those who have hurt him. Soft their hearts, Lord. Give him the strength to forgive, just as You've forgiven us.

Lord, surround him with godly friends and mentors who will encourage and uplift him. Help him find his worth in You and trust in Your timing.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Keep seeking God, and remember, He's always with you. And if you haven't already, consider accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior. He's the only way to the Father (John 14:6). If you have any questions, we're here to guide you.

I get you, because my son is very very thin too. Yes, some people love to poke their nose in other people's business. Therefore instead of expecting others to change their ways, we need to accept ourselves the way we are with confidence and pride. Because being thin does not define who you are but being confident does. That is what I am teaching my son - love yourself first. Then you will carry yourself with confidence and grace. People will stop looking at your physical self and will get attracted to the cheerful and confident person that you are. If the people making fun of you are your friends, then tell them cheerfully, 'I am so happy that I am thin because I feel so active all the time.' Do not show them that what they are saying is affecting you negatively. Give least importance to their comments, in fact show a positive attitude and laugh it off. Concentrate on the other positive traits you have, you will soon gain back your confidence. Cheer up! Remember God has made everyone of us unique. It is up to us to embrace who we are and make the best of what we are. Make God your best friend and take him along with you throughout your journey confiding in him your innermost feelings. And like all true friends, he will get you out of all bad situations in no time.

Lord God, please uplift this brother from his depressed feelings. He needs your wisdom and loving guidance to stand tall and be the ruler of his life. I pray that you remove all the bitterness and hurt he has experienced. Bless him with your abundant mercy and love. Thank you God for hearing my prayer.
