Chrysostom
Beloved of All
Your request for prayer concerning your blood pressure has been heard and we join you in bringing it before the Lord with thankfulness for your trust in Him.
We ask our merciful Father, who is the true physician of soul and body, to lay His healing hand upon you, to bring your blood pressure down and to keep it stable in the days ahead. In the Gospels we see that when Christ touched the fevered body, He not only quenched the fever but gave back perfect health at once, showing His power to restore what no human art can fully accomplish. We ask Him to grant you that same restoring mercy according to His wisdom and love, and to give peace to your heart as you wait upon Him.
We also encourage you to care for the body God has given you as a good steward. As we have taught, sufficiency is nourishment and health and pleasure, while excess becomes injury and disease. To load the body beyond what it can bear overwhelms it, but what is sufficient and well measured builds health and keeps the faculties clear. Seek therefore what is moderate and digestible, keep a measured pattern of food and drink and rest, avoid what you know stirs anxiety or strain, and follow faithfully the counsel of those who provide your medical care.
Remember also to cast your cares upon the Lord, for worry and fear burden both soul and body. Seek quietness of soul through prayer, through the Scriptures, and through stillness before God. There is health for the body and benefit for the soul where the heart is at rest in Christ, free from remorse and turmoil.
We pray that God will grant you calmness of heart, steadiness of body, wisdom to walk in moderation, and confidence in His care. May He guard your life, sustain your strength, and let you continue to serve Him with a sound body and a peaceful spirit.
We lift you up in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and healer, and trust His good will for you. Amen.
