Blessings to overcome Financial debt

Roshan Dsouza

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, I come before you in the name of Jesus, asking for your forgiveness of all my sins and blessings. I am burdened with a debt and I am being harassed by calls and visits from the banks, which has brought shame to my family. Lord, I ask for your divine intervention and a miracle, so that debt collections agencies close my accounts completely and I will no longer need to make payments, as I have already paid them more than I borrowed. I am also receiving threats from the banks, warning of legal actions and that they will contact my friends and family to harass them. Additionally, I owe money with interest. My desire is to repay everyone. If these people continue to harass me or my contacts, it could jeopardize my new job and leave me unemployed again. Lord I ask for your intervention to stop harassment and repeated calls from every debt collection agency and individual to whom I have to repay to me, my family and friends, as their presence disrupts our peace. Jesus, please help that no one visit my home to whom I have to pay else that will create a huge problem. Please hear my prayer and grant me peace and resolution. Lord, I ask for your miracle and intervention by granting me a personal loan and I get the same without any hassle as it will help me to pay off all my debts. I ask this in Jesus name. Praise the Lord. Amen.

We join with you in prayer before our Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus, and we thank you for coming humbly asking for forgiveness of sins and for help in this heavy burden. We are reminded of the promise in 1 John 1:9, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. We rejoice that you have come through Jesus, for as it is written in John 14:6, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. It is only through His name that we have access to God and peace with Him, and we praise God that you have called upon that name.

We hear your distress over debt, the shame you feel before your family, the constant calls and visits, the threats of legal action and of contacting your friends and family, and the fear that this harassment could cost you your new job. The Lord sees this affliction and He cares for your peace. We are reminded in Philippians 4:6-7, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. And in Psalm 34:18, Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit.

We want to lovingly address a part of your request that needs correction according to Scripture. You asked that collection agencies would simply close your accounts completely so you would no longer need to make payments because you feel you have already paid more than you borrowed, and at the same time you said your desire is to repay everyone you owe including interest. These two desires are in conflict, and we must speak truth in love. The Word of God is clear about our obligation to repay what we owe. In Psalm 37:21 it says, The wicked borrow, and don’t pay back, but the righteous give generously. And in Romans 13:8, Owe no one anything, except to love one another. If a debt is truly still owed according to a just and lawful agreement, even if much interest has been paid, we are called to act with integrity and to fulfill our obligations rather than seeking a miracle that would simply erase a lawful debt. God is a God of justice and mercy, and He honors honesty. We cannot ask God to help us avoid what we rightfully owe, but we can ask Him for the means, the wisdom, and the discipline to repay it faithfully. We also encourage you to carefully review what you truly owe, to seek wise and godly counsel, and to communicate honestly with those you owe, for in Proverbs 21:5 it says, The plans of the diligent surely lead to profit; and everyone who is hasty surely rushes to poverty.

We also gently caution you about asking for a new personal loan without hassle to pay off all debts. While God can provide through many means, taking on more debt to pay debt can often deepen the burden unless it is done with great wisdom, counsel, and a realistic plan to live within your means. Our prayer is not merely for an easy loan, but for God’s provision and for wisdom in stewardship, whether that provision comes through your new job, through wise budgeting, through counsel from your church, or through other lawful means. As it is written in Philippians 4:19, My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. And in Matthew 6:33, But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. God wants us to be faithful stewards, to work diligently, and to trust Him daily.

We now pray together for you.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother in his financial distress. Lord, You know the weight of this debt, the shame he carries, the fear of harassment at home and at work, and the threats that disturb the peace of his family and friends. Father, we ask for Your mercy and Your divine help. Grant him Your peace that surpasses understanding to guard his heart. Protect his new employment, Lord, that he may labor diligently and provide for his family and meet his obligations. We pray in Proverbs 21:5 that You would give him diligence and wisdom to make a plan, to budget faithfully, and to live within the provision You give.

Father, we ask for Your intervention regarding the harassment. We ask that You would restrain those who use threatening or harassing tactics, and that You would bring about lawful, respectful, and peaceful communication between him and his creditors. Let no one be harassed unjustly, and let his home be a place of peace. Give him favor and wisdom as he communicates with banks and agencies, and give him courage to speak truthfully and to seek fair arrangements to repay what is truly owed. Lord, forgive us where we have been unwise with money, and teach us to owe no one anything except love.

Father, provide for his needs according to Your riches in glory. If it is Your will to provide through increased income, through wise counsel, or through a proper and manageable means to consolidate what is owed, we ask for open doors that are wise and not harmful. Keep him from hasty decisions and from taking on burdens that would entangle him further. Help him to be faithful in little, to repay honestly, and to trust You one day at a time.

We thank You, Lord, that You hear our prayer in Jesus’ name. Strengthen his faith, lift his shame, and let him know that his worth is in Christ, not in his financial status. Help him to walk in integrity, to work heartily as for You, and to experience Your peace and resolution in Your perfect timing. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We encourage you to stay faithful in your new job, to work diligently as unto the Lord, to seek wise counsel from a trusted pastor or a biblically grounded financial counselor in your church, to make a clear list of what is owed and to whom, and to communicate in writing with creditors where possible to seek lawful and respectful payment plans. Keep praying, keep seeking first His Kingdom, and trust that God will supply and guide you as you walk in integrity. He is near to you in this trial and He will not forsake you.

We were moved reading your honest prayer. Carrying debt while fielding constant calls and visits, feeling shame before your family and fear that your new job could be at risk, is an exhausting place to live. It is understandable that peace feels far away right now.

We admire that you want to repay what you owe and to protect your family from further distress. That desire to act with integrity even under pressure matters to God and will also help you move forward steadily.

A couple of practical steps may help bring some breathing room while you continue to pray. Keeping a simple written log of each call, visit and message with dates and names can bring clarity and is useful if you seek advice. And it can be a relief not to carry this alone, so consider sitting down soon with one trustworthy guide, such as a nonprofit credit counseling service or a financial counselor through your church or community, who can review all the debts together and help you explore a realistic repayment plan and understand what protections exist where you live against harassment.

We are praying for you.

Father, in Jesus name we lift our friend to You. You see the burden of debt, the strain on family, and the fear around work and home. Grant wisdom for each decision, provision through honest means, favor and stability in the new job, and peace in the home. Guard this family from harassment and lead them to wise help and a clear path toward resolving what is owed. Give rest and hope as they trust You day by day. Amen.

Your prayer has come before us with its burden of debt and shame and fear, and we have heard the cry of a heart pressed by many cares and by the voices of those who demand payment.

There is a heavier debt than that which any bank can reckon, and it is the debt of sin before a holy God. When the soul learns that this enormous debt has been fully discharged by the Lord Jesus Christ, who has found a ransom and paid it with His own blood for all who believe, then the heart knows what perfect peace means. As it is written, You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. The blood of Jesus whispers peace within, even when sorrows are surging round. Acquaint yourself with God and be at peace, and though duties throng and cares press, to do the will of Jesus is rest.

We cannot ask the Lord to set aside what is justly owed, for the Scripture teaches us that the wicked borrow and do not repay, but the righteous deal honestly and show mercy, and we are to owe no man anything but to love one another and to render what is due. If an agreement has been made to borrow and to repay with interest, then integrity requires that we seek to fulfill it as we are able, and to speak truthfully with those to whom we are indebted. To pray that accounts would simply be closed while a just obligation remains would not be to ask for what is right before God. Rather we pray that He would grant you honesty, diligence and favor to meet your obligations in a way that honors Him.

We do join you in praying for deliverance, not as those who would fold their arms and sleep, but as those who look to the heavenly Father alone for both justification and sanctification, for peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ and for deliverance from the power of darkness and from the pit. We pray that the Lord, who has invented and provided the great ransom for sinners, would in His mercy grant you that deeper peace which does not depend upon outward circumstances, and that He would keep your mind stayed upon Christ while you walk through this trial.

Let us pray with you and for you.

Heavenly Father, we come in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone is salvation, and we thank You that there is forgiveness of all sins through His blood shed for us. We ask You to grant to this Your child a true trust in that finished work, and the perfect peace which You keep for those whose minds are stayed on You. In this dark world of sin, let the blood of Jesus whisper peace within.

Lord, You know the weight of financial debt, the shame felt before family, the fear of calls and visits, of threats and of the loss of daily work. We ask You to grant wisdom and calmness, to guard this household and loved ones in Your keeping, and to provide for honest needs according to Your gracious will. Grant diligence in labor, prudence in stewardship, and favor in dealing with those to whom money is owed. Give grace to communicate truthfully and humbly with creditors, to seek godly counsel, to make a just plan for repayment as You provide, and to walk uprightly before all men. Where there has been harsh or unlawful harassment, we ask for Your restraining hand and for lawful protection and peace within the borders of this home. Provide, we pray, through honest and orderly means, whether by labor or by provision which You in Your wisdom see fit, that what is owed may be repaid and that peace and resolution may come.

Teach this heart to stay at home in the closet with You, to meditate on Your law day and night, and to be like a tree planted by rivers of water. Let this affliction, as You have permitted it, become a testimony, that after deliverance this life may declare the works of the Lord and offer adoration to Him who brings forth His people with a mighty hand. Grant that whether the answer comes quickly or through patient endurance, faith may grow and Christ may be honored.

We ask this not as those who demand a miracle upon our terms, but as those who submit to Your good and holy will, trusting that You do all things well. Keep this dear soul, and family and friends, in Your perfect peace, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
