Blessings to overcome Financial debt

Roshan Dsouza

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, I come before you in the name of Jesus, asking for your forgiveness of all my sins and blessings. I am burdened with a debt and I am being harassed by calls and visits from the banks, which has brought shame to my family. Lord, I ask for your divine intervention and a miracle, so that debt collections agencies close my accounts completely and I will no longer need to make payments, as I have already paid them more than I borrowed. I am also receiving threats from the banks, warning of legal actions and that they will contact my friends and family to harass them. Additionally, I owe money with interest. My desire is to repay everyone. If these people continue to harass me or my contacts, it could jeopardize my new job and leave me unemployed again. Lord I ask for your intervention to stop harassment and repeated calls from every debt collection agency and individual to whom I have to repay to me, my family and friends, as their presence disrupts our peace. Jesus, please help that no one visit my home to whom I have to pay else that will create a huge problem. Please hear my prayer and grant me peace and resolution. Lord, I ask for your miracle and intervention by granting me a personal loan and I get the same without any hassle as it will help me to pay off all my debts. I ask this in Jesus name. Praise the Lord. Amen.

We have heard your cry and we join with you before the throne of grace in the name of Jesus, thanking God that you have come in His name and asked for forgiveness, for it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. We lift up your burden of debt, the shame you feel before your family, the fear of harassment, visits, and threats, and the anxiety over your new job, and we ask our Heavenly Father to grant you peace and wisdom in this difficult season.

We want to gently and lovingly address a part of your request with biblical truth, because we desire God's best for you. You asked that collection agencies would simply close your accounts so you would no longer need to make payments because you feel you have already paid more than you borrowed. We understand how overwhelming interest and fees can feel, and how heavy the pressure is, yet Scripture calls us to honor our obligations and to repay what we owe. Psalm 37:21 says The wicked borrow, and don’t pay back, but the righteous give generously. Proverbs 22:7 reminds us The rich rule over the poor. The borrower is servant to the lender. And Romans 13:8 teaches Owe no one anything, except to love one another. When we agreed to borrow, including interest, we made a promise before God and man to repay. To pray for a debt to be erased while a lawful balance remains would not align with integrity. Instead we pray with you that God will give you the means, the discipline, and the favor to repay everyone you owe in a way that is honest and sustainable. You also expressed the right desire when you said your desire is to repay everyone, and God honors that honest heart.

We also hear your distress over repeated calls, visits, threats to contact friends and family, and the fear that this could jeopardize your employment. We pray for God's protection over your peace, your home, and your job, and for His intervention to stop any harassment that is abusive or unlawful, while also giving you courage to act wisely and responsibly. Philippians 4:6-7 says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. We pray that peace will guard you and your family now.

We bring your needs before the Lord together.

Father, in the name of Jesus we come before You confessing our sins and asking for Your mercy and forgiveness. We lift up our brother to You who is burdened by debt and fear. Lord, forgive his sins as he has asked, cleanse him, and let him know the freedom of Your grace. We ask You to calm his heart and remove shame, for You do not despise a broken and contrite heart. Provide for him according to Your riches, for Philippians 4:19 promises My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Grant him wisdom to steward what You provide, diligence in his work, and favor with those to whom he owes. Lord, we ask that You would give him a spirit of honesty and open communication with his creditors, and that You would soften the hearts of those collecting, that they would act justly and without harassment or threats, and that they would not trouble his family, friends, or workplace. Protect his new job, Father, and establish the work of his hands. If it is Your will, open a door for provision, whether through a personal loan with fair terms or through other honest means, but guard him from taking on further burden that would entangle him again. Help him to make a clear plan to repay what he owes, to live within his means, and to seek godly counsel for budgeting and financial stewardship. Proverbs 21:5 says The plans of the diligent surely lead to profit; and everyone who is hasty surely rushes to poverty. Make him diligent and patient, seeking first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness, trusting Matthew 6:33 that all these things will be given to you as well. Restore peace to his home, let no one come to bring disturbance, and let Your presence be his refuge. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus, our only hope and mediator. Amen.

We encourage you to continue to seek the Lord daily, to be faithful in your new job, to keep honest records, and to communicate humbly and proactively with your creditors. If calls or visits are threatening or violate the law, seek wise counsel and understand your legal protections, while still showing a willing heart to repay. Consider seeking a trusted pastor or a reputable Christian financial counselor who can help you create a realistic repayment plan and budget so you can owe no one anything except love. Cast all your anxiety on Him, because 1 Peter 5:7 says He cares for you. God is not ashamed of you, He desires to restore you and teach you to walk in freedom, not in fear. We will continue to pray that God grants you peace, protects your family and employment, provides for your needs, and helps you become free from the burden of debt for His glory.

We have read your prayer and we hear how heavy this has become. The constant calls and visits, the shame you feel before your family, and the fear that harassment could put your new job at risk would wear down anyone. We are holding you and your family in prayer.

We appreciate that you want to do what is right and repay what you owe, even while you feel overwhelmed and pressed on every side. Carrying debt alone in silence often makes the burden heavier. Having a clear, workable plan can bring some peace even before the finances are fully resolved.

One steady next step many find helpful is to sit down with a trusted, nonprofit credit counseling service or a financially wise counselor in your church or community. They can help you review what is owed, what interest is accruing, and work with you to create a realistic repayment plan with creditors. They can also advise you on how to keep a written record of calls and visits and how to respond calmly when collectors contact you or your family. You do not have to navigate all the calls and paperwork by yourself.

Father, we lift this brother before You in Jesus' name. We ask for Your peace over his home, protection over his family and his work, and wisdom for each decision ahead. Provide for his needs, guide him to trustworthy help, and give him strength to walk forward with honesty and hope. Lead him to a path that brings resolution and rest. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your cry has come before us and we have marked well both the heaviness of your burden and the sincerity of your desire to do what is right before God and men. The shame that has fallen upon your household, the unceasing calls, the fear of visits and of losing your employment, all these press sorely upon the spirit, and it is no wonder that your heart seeks peace and resolution.

We must point you first to that greater debt which alone can give perfect peace. You have asked for forgiveness of all your sins in the name of Jesus, and there is the true foundation. The Scripture says, You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. When a soul learns that its enormous debt of sin has been fully discharged by the Lord Jesus Christ, who shed His blood to make a full atonement for all believers, then the heart is at peace. The blood of Jesus whispers peace within. This is a peace which God the Father gives, which Jesus Christ bought, and which the Holy Spirit works in the soul, a peace which the world cannot give and cannot take away. Come to Jesus who is our peace, and plead His finished work, for there is no peace with God except through Him.

Concerning the debt which you owe to men, we hear your desire to repay everyone, and this desire is honorable and according to the Word of God. The Scriptures teach us to owe no man anything and that we should provide things honest in the sight of all men. It would not be right to ask the Lord to cause those to whom you are lawfully indebted to close your accounts while any just obligation remains, nor to ask Him to set aside an agreement to which you put your hand, including lawful interest. To pray for such an escape would be to seek a false peace where there is no peace, and refuges of lies must be swept away before the refuge of Divine Grace can be sought. The peace that is a blessing is a peace that walks in truth.

Therefore we will not ask God to bless the evading of what is owed, but we will pray that He will in His sovereignty and mercy grant you wisdom, strength, and provision to meet what is due with integrity. We will pray that He who forms light and creates darkness, who in His providence orders all things, will interpose for your deliverance not by miracle contrary to righteousness, but by giving you honest means, steady employment, and favour with those to whom you must answer, that you may be able to work quietly and pay what you owe. We will pray also that any unlawful harassment and threats may be restrained, that your family and friends may be kept from distress, that your home may be kept in quietness, and that your new employment may be preserved, for God is the God of all peace and He delights to bless His people with peace.

Seek first Christ and His righteousness, and let your mind be stayed upon Him. Trust Him not only to forgive sin but to keep you day by day as you do the will of Jesus, for to do His will is rest. Bear your sorrow with Him, and you shall enjoy peace even with sorrows surging round. Seek godly counsel in the church and among wise and faithful men concerning your debts, that you may act prudently, speak truthfully with your creditors, and order your affairs with diligence and honesty.

Let us pray for you. Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, who alone is the way of salvation, and we ask for this soul that You would grant full forgiveness of sins through His blood, and a well founded peace in believing. Grant a heart stayed upon You and filled with trust. In Your sovereign goodness provide for this need according to Your wisdom, open doors of honest provision, grant favour and patience in the sight of creditors, restrain all threatening and harassment, keep this family in quietness, establish the work of his hands in this new employment, and give grace to repay what is justly owed, that he may walk honestly and know Your peace which passes all understanding. Teach him to do all things to Your glory and to rest in Your keeping. In Jesus name we ask. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
