Blessings to overcome Financial debt

Roshan Dsouza

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, I come before you in the name of Jesus, asking for your forgiveness of all my sins and blessings. I am burdened with a debt and I am being harassed by calls and visits from the banks, which has brought shame to my family. Lord, I ask for your divine intervention and a miracle, so that debt collections agencies close my accounts completely and I will no longer need to make payments, as I have already paid them more than I borrowed. I am also receiving threats from the banks, warning of legal actions and that they will contact my friends and family to harass them. Additionally, I owe money with interest. My desire is to repay everyone. If these people continue to harass me or my contacts, it could jeopardize my new job and leave me unemployed again. Lord I ask for your intervention to stop harassment and repeated calls from every debt collection agency and individual to whom I have to repay to me, my family and friends, as their presence disrupts our peace. Jesus, please help that no one visit my home to whom I have to pay else that will create a huge problem. Please hear my prayer and grant me peace and resolution. Lord, I ask for your miracle and intervention by granting me a personal loan and I get the same without any hassle as it will help me to pay off all my debts. I ask this in Jesus name. Praise the Lord. Amen.

We hear your cry for help and stand with you in prayer, lifting your burdens before our Heavenly Father. Financial debt is a heavy weight, and the harassment you’re facing is not only stressful but also unjust when it crosses the line into intimidation. We rebuke the spirit of fear and oppression that seeks to overwhelm you, for God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). The threats and harassment you describe are not of God, and we pray they cease immediately in Jesus’ name.

First, we must address the reality of debt with wisdom and integrity. Scripture tells us, "The wicked borrow and don’t pay back, but the righteous give generously" (Psalm 37:21). While you desire to repay what you owe, and this is honorable, we must also acknowledge that the system of debt collection can sometimes become oppressive, especially when interest compounds beyond what is fair. We pray that God would grant you favor in negotiating with your creditors, that they would show mercy and work with you to establish a reasonable repayment plan. Proverbs 22:7 warns, "The rich rule over the poor. The borrower is servant to the lender," but we serve a God who sets captives free. We declare freedom over your finances and ask that God open doors for you to settle these debts in a way that honors Him and restores your peace.

We also pray against the harassment you’re enduring. The Bible instructs us, "If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men" (Romans 12:18). However, when others do not seek peace, we can trust God to be our defender. We rebuke the spirit of intimidation and ask that God would intervene to stop the calls, visits, and threats. We pray that those who are harassing you would be restrained by the hand of God and that their actions would be exposed if they are operating outside the bounds of the law. You have the right to peace, and we stand with you in declaring that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).

Your request for a personal loan to consolidate your debts is understandable, and we pray that God would provide a way for you to access the funds you need without adding further burden. However, we must also caution you to seek wisdom in this. Proverbs 22:26-27 warns, "Don’t you be one of those who strike hands, of those who are collateral for debts. If you don’t have means to pay, why should he take away your bed from under you?" We pray that any loan you take would be manageable and that God would give you the discipline to use it wisely. We also ask that He would provide creative solutions, perhaps through unexpected provision, a promotion at your new job, or even generosity from others, to help you avoid further entanglement in debt.

We encourage you to take practical steps as well. Seek counsel from a trusted financial advisor or a Christian ministry that offers debt relief guidance. Proverbs 15:22 says, "Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established." You do not have to navigate this alone. We also pray that God would give you a spirit of contentment, so that you are not tempted to return to patterns that led to debt in the first place. Hebrews 13:5 reminds us, "Be free from the love of money, content with such things as you have, for he has said, ‘I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you.’"

Above all, we pray that you would draw near to God in this season. Financial struggles can feel all-consuming, but they are not the end of your story. Psalm 34:17-19 assures us, "The righteous cry, and the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all." We declare that God is your provider, your peace, and your deliverer. He sees your struggle, and He will make a way where there seems to be no way.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister, lifting up their financial burdens and the harassment they are facing. Lord, You are the God who sees and the God who provides. We ask that You would intervene in this situation and bring justice where there has been oppression. Stop the harassment, the calls, and the threats in Jesus’ name. We pray that You would soften the hearts of those who are pursuing this debt, that they would show mercy and work toward a fair resolution.

Father, we ask that You would open doors for our brother/sister to access the resources they need to settle these debts. Provide a way for them to consolidate or pay off what they owe without adding further burden. Give them wisdom in managing their finances and the discipline to avoid future entanglement in debt. We pray for favor in their new job, that it would be stable and provide the income needed to move forward.

Lord, we also pray for peace. The stress of this situation is heavy, and we ask that You would guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Remind them that You are their provider and that their worth is not tied to their financial situation. Heal any shame or fear they are carrying and replace it with Your perfect love, which casts out all fear (1 John 4:18).

We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper and that You will make a way where there seems to be no way. We trust in Your promise that You will supply every need according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). Strengthen their faith and help them to stand firm, knowing that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28).

In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
