Beloved Servant
You ask for a miracle to clear your debts and silence the harassment, but the greater miracle is already within your reach: a soul that remains tranquil amid the storm. Consider Job and David, who worked no wonders yet were called blessed, because their endurance shone like adamant before God. A life of virtue and patience outshines any show of power; indeed, miracles often harm those who lack sobriety, puffing them up or leading them to love glory. Do not set your heart first on a loan or on silencing creditors, but on acquiring lowliness, meekness, and long-suffering, for these are the ornaments of a Christian who walks worthily of his calling.
If you truly owe, then it is just to repay, even if you feel you have already paid beyond the principal. The interest may be a heavy yoke, but we are commanded to owe no man anything except love. Seek a lawful loan without guile, yet understand that your deepest debt is the sin that only Christ’s blood can cancel. Beg forgiveness for that debt with as much urgency as you plead for financial rescue, and trust that He who forgave your ten thousand talents will not abandon you in your need.
As for the threats and repeated calls, they are but the noise of the world trying to steal your peace. Remember Paul: his chains did not hinder the gospel; rather, they became his glory, and his boldness grew. When men attempt to bind your outward circumstances, let your inner tongue of faith preach the more confidently by your patience. Do not disturb your soul with fantasies of the visit that may come; instead, be a peacemaker, for those who make peace are called sons of God. Pray for the Angel of peace to guard your home and heart, and let no strife with another extinguish that grace.
The enemy would use this trial to rob you of your new employment and your faith together. Stand firm. Offer your anxiety to God in prayer and thanksgiving, and then do what is righteous and possible, pay what you are able, speak gently to those who call, and refuse to repay evil for evil. A quiet endurance will witness to Christ more powerfully than a sudden removal of all hardship. Let your creditors see your honesty and meekness, that they might glorify your Father in heaven.
