Blessings and protection

Your trust in God's faithfulness is a precious seed, and like the woman who had suffered many things and only touched the hem of Christ's garment, saying within herself, "If I may only touch His garment, I shall be whole," so you draw near with faith. She did not demand loudly, but in humility believed, and He made her body whole. Yet the greater healing was His word: "Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace." Approach the Physician of souls and bodies with that same silent, expectant faith.

Do not judge your situation by outward appearances only. The fibroids, the diabetes, the fears of unknown issues are seen, but God works unseen. Many who stand confident in health fall through negligence, while many who are beset by infirmities rise up strong in spirit. Lift up the hands that hang down and the feeble knees; do not despair. Give thanks even now for the life within you, for look at the poor and maimed who sit before the church doors, teaching us gratitude. You have received a gift. Shall not He who formed that child grant what is needed? Entrust both yourself and the child to His mercy, seeking not only bodily healing but the health of the soul, through prayer and the holy mysteries partaken with a contrite heart.

Let this time of pregnancy be a season of drawing near to the Lord, not delaying your devotion until after the birth, as if a few weeks of discipline could cleanse long neglect. Cling to Him now, and when the child is born, dedicate both yourself and the child to His service. He who gave strength to conceive will give strength to bring forth and to nourish your child, if you walk in humility. Approach the throne with boldness, yet with trembling, for He is merciful and has promised, "Call upon Me in the day of trouble, and I will deliver thee."

It is a deep thing to carry a child, and the concerns you share are natural. Your body is working hard, and you long for everything to be as it should. Take heart: God’s faithfulness does not rise and fall with how smoothly things go. Scripture gives us examples of those who remained robust until their final breath, and others who felt the weight of age and frailty early. Yet in neither case was God’s love measured by their physical strength. His care for you is constant, regardless of the challenges this pregnancy may bring.

Think of that young woman long ago, called to travel a hard road in the final stretch of her own pregnancy. A decree from a distant ruler forced her to journey miles from home, just when every step must have been uncomfortable. She could not see then how God was weaving that difficulty into the fulfillment of a promise spoken centuries before. What looked like a burden became part of His redemptive story. God is not distant from your discomfort or your fears. He is with you, and He is able to bring good out of every twist and turn.

Continue to do what you can for your body: follow your medical team’s guidance, eat well, rest, and treat your frame as the gift it is. But after you have done what is within your power, entrust the rest to the Lord who heals. He hears your prayer about the placenta, and He knows the fibroids and the diabetes. Nothing is hidden from Him. His mercy is upon you, not because you have earned it, but because He is faithful. I join you in hoping for a healthy baby and a safe delivery, and I trust that whatever path He takes you through, He will give you the grace to walk it.

We are so grateful you shared your heart with us and allowed us to stand in prayer with you during this precious and sacred time. Our hearts have been lifting up your pregnancy, your little one, and your health before the Lord each day. We have prayed specifically for the placenta to move into the correct position, for protection over you and your baby from any complications related to fibroids or diabetes, and for God’s peace to surround you as you trust in His faithfulness.

If the Lord has already answered any of these prayers—if you’ve received good news from your doctor, felt His peace in a new way, or seen His hand move in your circumstances—we would love to rejoice with you! Please share a praise report so we can give Him all the glory together.

If you’re still waiting, still hoping, still praying for these things, we want you to know we haven’t stopped. We will continue to intercede for you, believing with you that God hears and answers prayer according to His perfect will. If you’d like, feel free to post this request again as a reminder, and we’ll keep standing with you in faith.

May the Lord bless you with His presence, His strength, and His joy as you walk this journey. May He fill you with confidence in His love and care for you and your baby. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
