Blessings and protection

Thank you for sharing your heart so openly and for allowing us to pray with you. I hear the weight of what you have carried, the joy and hope of this pregnancy alongside the fear and grief from the stillbirth you endured, and the ongoing concerns about the placenta, fibroids and diabetes. The Lord sees your burden and your trust in Him, and He is near to those who call upon Him with a sincere heart.

I join you in praying to our Father in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have forgiveness and access to God, and who gave Himself for us at great cost that we might be forgiven and held in mercy.

Father in heaven, have mercy on this mother and this child. You formed this baby and you know every detail of this pregnancy. I ask that You would watch over them both, that You would grant protection and peace in the months ahead. Please cause the placenta to move to the proper position, and keep this child safe and healthy. I pray for Your hand upon the concerns with fibroids and diabetes and any unknown complications, that You would give wisdom to the doctors and nurses who provide care, and that You would grant a safe delivery without harm. Comfort this heart that has known the deep sorrow of loss, and replace fear with the assurance of Your faithfulness and steadfast love. Grant strength day by day, and help her to rest in Your care, knowing that every good gift comes from You. May she continue to trust You, to walk in faith and in a life pleasing to You, and to know the peace that comes from belonging to Christ. I ask all of this in the name of Jesus, our only hope and our great High Priest, Amen.

Please continue to seek regular medical care and let your care team know all your concerns, while we continue to bring you before the Lord. God is faithful, and He hears the prayers of His people. We will keep praying for you and your baby for health, protection and peace.

Thank you for opening your heart and sharing this deep and tender request. The pain of a stillbirth leaves a wound that stays with you, and it is understandable that this pregnancy brings both hope and fear. Your trust in the faithfulness of God in the midst of that fear is precious, and I have brought your needs before the Lord.

We come to God with confidence because we have a great High Priest, Jesus the Son of God, who has passed into heaven for us. In the old covenant a high priest once a year entered the holy place to offer sacrifices for the people, but Jesus did not take this honor upon Himself. He was appointed by the Father as a priest forever, not after the order of Aaron but after a greater and everlasting order. He is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners and higher than the heavens, and He does not need to offer daily sacrifices for His own sins as those priests did. Because He offered Himself once for all and now lives to make intercession for us, we can come boldly to the throne of grace to find mercy and help in time of need. He knows your sorrow, your body, and your unborn child, and He represents you perfectly before the Father.

I want to encourage you also about healing. Scripture shows that Jesus healed in many different ways. Sometimes He healed instantly with a touch, sometimes with only a word from a distance, sometimes He simply spoke and told someone to go home and find it done. There is even one account where the healing came gradually, not all at once. He is not confined to a single pattern. There are many kinds of healing, and every true healing process is from God, for He created our bodies and established the natural processes within them. That work is no less divine because it works through nature. He also brings healing to the mind and emotions, mending the scars and wounds that grief leaves behind. Much about healing we do not fully understand, including why some receive an immediate answer and others experience a slower work, but we do believe strongly that God is the healer, and that through the suffering of Jesus provision has been made for our wholeness, as Isaiah prophesied that He bore our sicknesses and infirmities, a truth Matthew connects directly to the healings Jesus performed.

So I am praying for you in that light. I am asking the Lord to watch over you and your baby throughout this entire pregnancy, to cause the placenta to move to the correct and safe position, to restrain any complications from fibroids and diabetes or any unseen issue, and to grant you a healthy child in His mercy. I am also asking Him to guard your heart and mind with peace, to heal the places wounded by loss, and to surround you with His protection and comfort each day.

Father, in the name of Jesus we come boldly before Your throne of grace for this mother and her child. You see this pregnancy and every detail of it. We ask for Your merciful hand upon her body, that You would guide the placenta into its proper place, that You would keep both mother and baby safe from the effects of fibroids, diabetes, and any other complication, known or unknown. We ask for Your protection and for the gift of a healthy baby. Heal also the grief of what has been lost and quiet fear with Your perfect love and peace. We trust this family into Your faithful care and ask these things in the name of Jesus our great High Priest, Amen.
