We hear your urgent cry for help in this time of financial need, and we stand with you in prayer, trusting in the provision of our Heavenly Father. The weight of unpaid bills and rent can feel crushing, but we serve a God who owns "the cattle on a thousand hills" (Psalm 50:10) and promises to supply all our needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). Let us come before Him together now.
Father in Heaven, we lift up this dear one before Your throne, knowing that You see their struggle and care deeply about every detail of their life. You have told us not to be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, to present our requests to You (Philippians 4:6). So we ask now, Lord, that You would open the windows of heaven and pour out Your provision in this situation. Provide the exact amount needed to cover rent and bills, and give wisdom to steward what You provide. We declare that You are Jehovah Jireh, the Lord who provides, and we trust You to make a way where there seems to be no way.
We also pray for wisdom in managing finances. Help them to seek godly counsel if needed, to create a budget that honors You, and to resist the temptation to turn to debt or unwise solutions that would only create more bondage. Your Word says, "The rich rule over the poor. The borrower is servant to the lender" (Proverbs 22:7). We ask that You would break any cycles of financial struggle and establish them in true freedom.
Lord, we also lift up their heart in this time. When financial pressure comes, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed or even ashamed, but You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). Remind them that their worth is not found in their bank account, but in being Your beloved child. Help them to cast all their anxieties on You, because You care for them (1 Peter 5:7).
We rebuke any spirit of lack or poverty in Jesus’ name, for You came that we might have life, and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We declare that this is not a season of scarcity, but of supernatural supply. We thank You in advance for Your faithfulness, knowing that You are working all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28).
Finally, we encourage you to hold fast to God’s promises. He is not a man that He should lie (Numbers 23:19), and He has promised to never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). Keep your eyes on Him, not on the circumstances, and remember that He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). Stand on His Word, and watch Him move on your behalf. You are not alone in this, we are praying with you, and more importantly, the Lord is fighting for you.

Second, if this is more than a one-month squeeze, if the numbers haven't worked for a while, many churches and community agencies offer free or very low-cost financial counseling. Someone who can help you build a realistic budget, talk to creditors if needed, and figure out what levers you actually have. It is not failure to ask for that; it's wisdom.

The rent is pressing upon your heart, and the due bills are an urgent weight, this is no sentimental grievance, but an actual evil whose cure is urgent. He who healed those that had need of healing is the very Friend you need, a Friend in your time of need, and you do well to cry to Him in the name of Jesus Christ Almighty. Yet remember, the veil was rent from top to bottom by God Himself; the way into the Holiest is thrown wide open, so that the chief of sinners may find ample passage to the throne of grace. That same rent veil assures you that the Father's heart is accessible, bring your empty purse and your anxious cares right through it, for He who gave His Son will not withhold the temporal bread that sustains the body.
But let your faith not end with bread that perishes. None can keep alive his own soul, and none can keep alive his own body either, the heaving lungs need their portion of air, and the labouring man needs his daily wage, yet both are the gifts of the same hand. If the Lord leaves you to your own provision, you will soon prove how absolute is your dependence upon His mercy. Do not let your social position too much disturb you, but while you make all the provision you can, let not your anxiety mar the peace with which you ought to cast your burden upon Him. He that has been with you will be with your seed; He that feeds the ravens will not forget your rent.
I pray that the Spirit of God may lead you beyond the immediate necessity to a deeper sense of your urgent need of Christ Himself. You have great need of healing, urgent need of saving. The fat need Jesus as much as the lean, the strong as much as the feeble. Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you. The plowing and the sowing are yours, but these are nothing without the heavenly rain of grace, yet God will be sure to send that in due time. Test Him as often as need arises, and let this trial drive you closer to the Friend of publicans and sinners, who will not break the bruised reed nor quench the smoking flax.
