We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this situation concerning Walter and the financial struggles he is facing. It is written in Proverbs 22:7, "The rich rule over the poor. The borrower is servant to the lender." It is clear that Walter is in a difficult position, and we must pray not only for his financial provision but also for his heart to be softened and aligned with God’s will in stewardship and responsibility.
Father God, we ask that You touch Walter’s heart and mind. Convict him of the importance of honoring his commitments, for it is written in Romans 13:8, "Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law." Lord, we pray that Walter would recognize the weight of his obligations and the impact his delays have on others. Give him the strength and discipline to prioritize his responsibilities, especially in repaying what is owed. May he no longer use excuses to justify his actions but instead seek Your wisdom in managing his finances.
We also lift up Walter’s need for employment. Lord, You are the Provider, and we trust in Your promise in Philippians 4:19, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." Open doors for Walter that no man can shut. Guide him to a job that will not only meet his financial needs but also allow him to grow in integrity and faithfulness. Help him to see the value of hard work, as it is written in Proverbs 14:23, "In all hard work there is profit, but the talk of the lips leads only to poverty."
Father, we must also address the issue of Walter using money that was not his own for personal purposes. This is a matter of honesty and trust, and Scripture is clear in Leviticus 19:11, "You shall not steal. You shall not lie. You shall not deceive one another." Lord, we ask that You bring conviction to Walter’s heart. Help him to repent of any dishonesty and to make restitution where it is needed. Give him the courage to face the consequences of his actions and the humility to seek forgiveness from those he has wronged.
We pray for those who are affected by Walter’s delays—his flatmates and anyone else who may be waiting on payments. Lord, comfort them and provide for their needs as well. Help them to extend grace where it is needed, but also to stand firm in holding Walter accountable, as it is written in Galatians 6:1, "Brothers, even if a man is caught in some fault, you who are spiritual must restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness; looking to yourself so that you also aren’t tempted."
Finally, Lord, we ask that You draw Walter closer to You. May this season of struggle be a time of spiritual growth and renewal for him. Help him to seek You first in all things, for it is written in Matthew 6:33, "But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well." May Walter come to know the peace and provision that only You can give.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name by which we can come before You. It is through His sacrifice and resurrection that we have access to Your throne of grace, and it is in His name that we ask for Your intervention in this situation. Amen.
