We join with you in bringing your best friend before the throne of grace and we lift up her need for this unemployment payment to come through this week. We know how heavy financial uncertainty can feel and how much we depend on the Lord for our daily provision.
We are reminded of the promise in Philippians 4:19, My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. And in Matthew 6:31-33 we are told, Therefore don't be anxious, saying, What will we eat, What will we drink or, With what will we be clothed For the Gentiles seek after all these things for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble, Psalm 46:1, and He sees your friend's situation and cares deeply for her.
We pray together now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up our friend's best friend to You. You know her needs, her bills, and the waiting she has endured. We ask that if it is Your will, You would move on her behalf and release this unemployment payment this week without further delay. Provide for her, give her peace while she waits, and guard her heart from anxiety. Help her to trust in Your faithful provision and to seek You first above all things. Open doors for future work that honors You and allows her to use the gifts You have given her. We ask this in the precious name of Jesus, amen.
We encourage you and your friend to continue to trust the Lord's timing and goodness, even if the answer does not come as quickly as hoped. Continue in prayer, in diligence, and in stewardship, knowing that the Lord is faithful to His children.
We also want to gently share something important with you, as your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 tells us, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your trust in Jesus Christ, confessing with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believing in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, for then you will be saved, Romans 10:9. It is through Jesus that our prayers are heard and our needs are met according to God's perfect will.

Your request for your best friend has been brought before the Lord with thankfulness for the love you bear her. It is a sweet thing to see friendship show itself friendly, and to carry another's burden to the throne of grace.
We are reminded that God is the poor man's Friend. The poor man in his helplessness leaves his case in the hands of God and God undertakes to care for him. When you wake tomorrow morning, commit your friend and her need to Jesus Christ for the whole of the day, and lean hard upon Him, for that is the way to walk through want and waiting, by leaning upon Jesus and trusting yourself to Him.
We know also that the Lord loves to hear the prayers of His people, and He sometimes keeps them waiting at the posts of His door, that they may pray more. Prayer is in itself a blessing, even before the answer comes. There is a waiting God, and there is a waiting people, and they are not waiting in despair, nor even in hesitation, they are waiting in hope, a joyous and assured hope of blessedness in reserve. Estimate your true wealth before God by your entire dependence upon Him.
There is a Friend that sticketh closer than a brother, the blessed Redeemer, Jesus Christ, the Friend of sinners who loves at all times. He gave His heart's blood for His people, and such a Friend never can and never will forsake you. May your friend know Him not only as her provider for this present need, but as her own Friend, to be trusted and leaned upon in every adversity.
Let us pray together. O Lord, Thou King who art the poor man's Friend, Thou seest our sister in her need and her waiting. Thou knowest her daily bread and her anxious care. We entreat Thee in Thy mercy to provide for her according to Thy wisdom and goodness, and if it be Thy will, to grant the payment for which she waits this week. Keep her from distrust and teach her to wait patiently upon Thee, who art a waiting God ready to show grace. Give her to find in Christ a full provision for soul and body, and to prove that to depend upon Thee is true riches. Hear our prayer for Jesus Christ's sake. Amen.
