Bad Dream

Please pray for me. About hour ago i woke up because I was being attacked by a spider in my feet in a dream. My stomach hurts and it's moving or something is moving. ###

We are lifting you up together before the Lord right now after this frightening dream and the physical distress you are feeling in your stomach. We understand how unsettling it is to wake up suddenly feeling attacked and then to have pain and a moving sensation in your body. We want you to know that God sees you in this moment, He is near, and He is your refuge and protector even in the night.

The enemy often tries to use fear, especially through dreams, to steal our peace, but God's Word tells us the truth about where our peace comes from. For God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. 2 Timothy 1:7. We do not need to be afraid of what we see in a dream, for the Lord watches over us even while we sleep. Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. Psalm 121:4. When you lie down, you will not be afraid. Yes, you will lie down, and your sleep shall be sweet. Proverbs 3:24. And In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety. Psalm 4:8. A spider in a dream has no power over you when you belong to Christ, for He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. Psalm 91:1. He will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. Psalm 91:11.

We also bring your stomach pain before the Lord for His healing touch. Our bodies and our anxieties are connected, and fear can cause real physical symptoms, but the Lord is our healer. But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. Jeremiah 30:17. We encourage you to cast all your anxiety on Him, because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7. And In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7. If this pain and moving sensation continues, we encourage you to also seek care from a trusted medical provider, as God often works through wisdom and care to bring healing, and we will continue to pray for your complete restoration.

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently share why His name is so important. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and find true peace and salvation. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9. It is by trusting in Jesus Christ, His death and resurrection for our sins, that we can come boldly to God in prayer and know His protection and forgiveness. We pray you know Him as your Lord and Savior.

We pray together now for you. Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one to You. Lord, we rebuke any spirit of fear and anxiety that is trying to torment through this bad dream, and we ask You to replace it with Your perfect peace and power and love. We ask You to lay Your healing hand upon this stomach, take away the pain and the strange moving sensation, and restore health and calm. Let Your peace which surpasses all understanding guard this heart and mind in Christ Jesus. We ask that You guard this sleep, let tonight and every night be sweet and safe in Your shadow, and let Your angels keep charge over this home. We pray that this dear one will seek You and know Your deliverance, for I sought Yahweh, and he answered me, and delivered me from all my fears. Psalm 34:4. Draw this heart close to Jesus, let Your presence be felt right now, and let Your will be done. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray, amen.

We encourage you to pray before you sleep, to speak the name of Jesus over your room and your body, and to put on the full armor of God. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Ephesians 6:11. Read His Word and play scripture or worship as you fall asleep, remembering Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10. We are continuing to pray for your peace, your healing, and your restful sleep in Him.

We are glad you reached out after waking like that. Being attacked in a dream, especially so vividly on your feet, can leave your body feeling on edge even after you are awake, and we understand why the pain and moving sensation in your stomach would feel unsettling on top of it.

It can help to gently remind yourself you are safe now, in your own room, and the dream itself cannot hurt you. Nightmares often leave the heart racing and the stomach tight for a little while, and that lingering alert feeling does not mean something is wrong with you spiritually. If you can, turn on a soft light, sip some water, and let someone you trust know you had a rough night so you are not sitting with it alone.

Since your stomach is hurting, please have it checked promptly by a doctor or clinic if it continues or gets worse today. We will be praying for your health and for peace as you get care.

We are holding you in prayer and hope you will let us know how you are doing after you have had a chance to rest again.

Father, we lift our friend to You right now. Bring calm after this frightening dream, ease the discomfort in their body, and guard their sleep with Your peace. Draw near and let them feel Your care today and lead them to the help they need. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your troubled night and the pain you now feel have been laid before the Lord, and I have sought Him on your behalf.

It is no small thing to be awakened in fear, and to feel the body also distressed. Dreams may greatly disturb us, yet we are taught in the Word to fear not, for the Lord Himself says, Fear not, for I am with thee, be not dismayed, for I am thy God. Fear not is a plant which grows very plentifully in God's garden, and the Lord Jesus Himself whispers it to His poor servant fallen as dead at His feet, Fear not. To give way to fear is weakening and it dishonors Him whose arm piled the heavens and sustains all things. Labor then, by faith, to cast your care upon Him, for He careth for you.

You speak of a spider attacking your feet and of pain and moving in your stomach. Take comfort that Christ is the great Physician. As it is written, He healeth the broken in heart and bindeth up their wounds, and the Sun of Righteousness is risen with healing in His wings. There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. Not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but the leaves, the little things, as it were, about Christ, are full of healing virtue. The least thing about Christ is healing, and those healing leaves change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. Pardon and healing are placed in happy conjunction, and both are bestowed on the Lord's people.

I pray for you now that the Lord would grant you pardon through the precious blood of Christ, and with that pardon, healing and peace. May He calm your spirit, banish all tormenting fear, give you quiet sleep, and ease the distress in your body. May He help you to look to Calvary, where the healing balm is found, and to trust not in dreams or terrors of the night, but in the living Christ who watches over you.

If the pain in your stomach continues or increases, I urge you not to neglect the body, for we very speedily care for bodily diseases and seek a physician for our healing, and you should seek wise medical help as well as spiritual comfort.

May the Lord keep you this night and in all nights to come, and may you know that when the Lord comes and dwells with His people, they have no need to say they are sick, for He is their health and their song.

I commend you to His tender care, praying that He will give you rest, restore you to soundness, and fill your heart with holy confidence in Him who has redeemed you. Amen.
