Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing so honestly about what you have been carrying. Feeling empty and depressed and struggling to see purpose and value is very painful, and it is understandable that a dream like that would leave you feeling more rejected and unsettled. I want to pray for you and also share some truth that can help steady your heart.
Your worth is not measured by whether a man chooses you or by how your body looks. Scripture teaches that you are fearfully and wonderfully made, and that the real you is not your body alone. Your body is like a tent you live in for a while, a means God has given you to express yourself, but the true you is spirit, made to know God. Your body will one day be laid aside and God will give you a new body that will not age or fail, a body made for His presence. Because of that, your beauty and value are not found in appearance or in being wanted by another person, but in being known and loved by Jesus Christ and made new in Him.
If you belong to Jesus, your body belongs to Him as well. It is not your own to use as you please, but His to use for His purposes. That is why Scripture calls us to purpose in our hearts to live set apart for Him, to offer the parts of our body as instruments for what is right and good, so that Christ may be honored in our bodies. This is not a burden, but a freedom from being ruled by appetites and anxieties about what we look like or whether we are desired. When the body and its wants rule, the mind becomes filled with those things and we lose fellowship with God. When the Spirit rules through faith in Christ, we have life and peace and fellowship with Him, and sin does not have to control us.
God has also placed you in His family as a necessary part of the body of Christ. The body is one and has many parts, and every part is needed. No part can say it is not part of the body because it is not like another part. If the whole body were one part, it would not function. You have a vital place and purpose that no one else can fill, and when one part suffers the whole body suffers with it, and when one part is honored all rejoice together. Your purpose is not found in being chosen in a dream or by a person, but in belonging to Christ and being needed by His people, each of us depending on one another and working together in unity.
It is right to want to hear the Lord more clearly. The best way to grow in hearing Him is to grow in knowing Jesus, staying in His Word, talking with Him in prayer, and using what He shows you to build up others in love. God does not want you to chase feelings of being wanted and beautiful from people, but to receive from Him the assurance that you are already wanted and loved and made beautiful by His grace.
Let me pray for you now. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ I ask for Your protection over this dear one and for Your peace to guard heart and mind. I ask that every lie of rejection and every painful thought about self worth and the body would be broken in Jesus name. Reveal what is true, that she is accepted in Christ, valued, and given a place in Your body with purpose. Forgive sin and cleanse through the blood of Jesus, and fill her with Your Holy Spirit. Teach her to yield her body to You as an instrument for Your glory and to set her mind on Your Spirit. Lift this heaviness and depression and give hope, a sense of calling, and a clear view of the beauty You give to those who are Yours. Help her to know she is fully wanted by You and to grow in knowing Your voice and walking in what is pure and holy. Preserve her whole spirit and soul and body in Your care. Amen.
