We hear the weariness in your words, and we want you to know that you are not alone in this struggle. The weight of constant setbacks and disappointments can feel crushing, and it’s understandable to wonder why obstacles seem to pile up when others appear to move forward with ease. But we want to remind you that God sees your struggle, and He has not abandoned you, even when it feels that way.
First, we must address the idea of a "curse." Scripture is clear that in Christ, we are set free from any curse. Galatians 3:13-14 tells us, "Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us. For it is written, 'Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree,' that the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith." If you are in Christ, no curse has power over you. However, the enemy may try to discourage you with lies, making you feel as though you are under some spiritual oppression. We rebuke that lie in the name of Jesus. You are not cursed, you are a child of God, and He has a purpose for your life.
That said, we must also consider whether there are areas in your life where sin or unforgiveness might be giving the enemy a foothold. Ephesians 4:26-27 warns, "'Be angry, and don’t sin.' Don’t let the sun go down on your wrath, and don’t give place to the devil." If there is unconfessed sin, bitterness, or unresolved conflict, it can create spiritual blockages that hinder God’s blessings. We encourage you to examine your heart before the Lord and ask Him to reveal anything that needs to be surrendered to Him.
We also want to gently challenge the comparison you’ve made with others. It’s easy to look at someone else’s life and assume their path is easier, but Scripture warns against envy and comparison. Psalm 37:7-8 says, "Rest in Yahweh, and wait patiently for him. Don’t fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who makes wicked plots happen. Cease from anger, and forsake wrath. Don’t fret; it leads only to evildoing." God’s timing and purposes are unique for each of us. What may seem like "shining" for someone else may come with hidden struggles you don’t see. Instead of comparing, we encourage you to focus on your own walk with God and trust that He is working even in the setbacks.
Now, let’s pray for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who is feeling weighed down by constant obstacles and disappointments. Lord, we rebuke every lie of the enemy that says they are cursed or abandoned. We declare that in Christ, they are more than conquerors (Romans 8:37), and no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Father, we ask You to break every chain of discouragement, frustration, and defeat in their life. Reveal to them any areas where the enemy may have gained a foothold, and give them the strength to repent and turn away from anything that is not of You.
Lord, we ask for Your divine favor to rest upon them. Open doors that no man can shut (Revelation 3:8), and remove the obstacles that have been standing in their way. Give them wisdom, patience, and perseverance to press forward, even when the path seems difficult. Remind them that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and let them see Your hand at work in their life.
Father, we also pray for a fresh outpouring of Your Holy Spirit upon them. Renew their strength like the eagle’s (Isaiah 40:31), and let them rise above the discouragement that has been holding them down. Help them to fix their eyes on You, the author and perfecter of their faith (Hebrews 12:2), and not on the circumstances around them. Surround them with godly encouragement and remind them that their labor in You is not in vain (1 Corinthians 15:58).
We thank You, Lord, that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28), even when they cannot see it. We declare victory over their life in Jesus’ name, and we trust You to turn their struggles into testimonies. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to hold fast to God’s promises, even when the road is hard. James 1:2-4 reminds us, "Count it all joy, my brothers, when you fall into various temptations, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. Let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing." The trials you are facing are not without purpose, they are shaping you into the person God has called you to be.
If you have not already, consider seeking out a trusted pastor, mentor, or fellow believer who can stand with you in prayer and encouragement. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 tells us, "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up." You do not have to walk this path alone.
Lastly, we want to gently ask: Have you placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior? If not, we urge you to consider the gift of salvation He offers. Romans 10:9 says, "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Him, we encourage you to do so today. He is waiting with open arms.
Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for loving me, Jesus. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name please bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have.
