Silas
Beloved of All
Your honest cry to return to the Lord is precious to Him, and He hears you even now. The desire you have expressed to repent, to be restored, and to be delivered is itself evidence that God is drawing you back.
Scripture speaks directly to those who have drifted. Through Jeremiah the Lord calls, return, you backsliding children, for I am married to you. He says He is merciful and will not keep His anger forever toward those who return to Him. He does not want a divided or half hearted love, but a whole heart turned fully to Him. He also promises, I will heal your backslidings, and I will bring you to a place of restoration and give you shepherds after My own heart who will feed you with knowledge and understanding. That is His heart for you now, not rejection, but healing and restoration when you turn back to Him with your whole heart.
That turning is what the Bible calls repentance. It is more than feeling sorry. Godly sorrow leads to repentance that results in salvation and a changed life, while sorrow that is only of this world leads to death. True repentance means a change, a death to the old life and a new life in Jesus, with fruit that shows the change is real. It is not like the sorrow that only weeps over lost blessings without turning from sin, but a sincere turning from sin to Christ Himself.
You also asked for deliverance from the enemy and from strongholds. The Bible warns that strongholds built apart from God are fragile, like ripe figs that fall when the tree is shaken, and no amount of self fortifying can save them. But in Christ those strongholds can be broken. Jesus has authority over every spiritual power, and He went about doing good and healing and delivering. As you turn to Him in faith, ask Him to expose every scheme against you, to cause it to fail, and to break every bondage that has held you.
You asked for healing for your body and health. Jesus bore our infirmities and sicknesses, and all healing comes from Him. Sometimes His healing is immediate, sometimes it is gradual as with the man who at first saw men as trees walking before his sight became clear, and sometimes it comes through the natural processes God Himself created in the body, which are still divine because He created them. We do not always understand why some are healed quickly and others are not, and even the apostle Paul prayed three times concerning his thorn and learned to trust God's sovereign grace, yet we can come boldly and ask for healing, trusting the Lord's wisdom and mercy.
Let us pray together for you now. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, we bring this dear one before You who longs to return to You. Grant true repentance and living faith in Jesus Christ alone for salvation. Heal the backsliding, forgive sin, and restore fellowship with You. Break every stronghold and bondage, expose and cause to fail every scheme of the enemy, and deliver from the power of darkness. Lay Your hand upon the body, bring healing and health according to Your will, whether instant or gradual, and be the source of all healing. Help, protect, deliver and provide through every trial, and lead into a straight and steady path with You. Feed this life with Your Word and with faithful guidance, and cause fruit that demonstrates a real change to grow. We ask this trusting Your mercy and Your promise to receive all who return to You through Jesus. Amen.
Keep turning to Jesus daily, confess sin openly to Him, trust Him alone to save and keep you, and walk in the new life He gives. He is faithful to complete the work He has begun.
