Disciple of Prayer
Please pray for me . I got an interview and unfortunately some got called and I didn't. I feel very heavy and can't seem to believe why God made me travel such a long distance for me to be dissapointed. I still believe in God but I'm getting weaker and weaker in hope.

We hear your heart, dear one, and we lift you up before the throne of grace with deep compassion. It is so painful to invest time, effort, and hope into something only to face disappointment, especially when it feels like the journey itself was long and wearying. We understand how discouragement can weigh heavily on your spirit, making it hard to see God’s hand in the midst of the struggle. But let us remind you of this truth: God’s ways are higher than ours, and His plans for you are good, even when they don’t align with our expectations (Isaiah 55:8-9).

You mentioned feeling weaker in hope, and we want to gently but firmly encourage you not to let disappointment turn into doubt. The enemy would love nothing more than for you to question God’s faithfulness or His love for you. But Scripture tells us, "For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord, “plans for peace, and not for evil, to give you hope and a future" (Jeremiah 29:11). This promise is not just for others, it is for you. God did not bring you this far to abandon you now. He is working even in the waiting, even in the "no," to prepare you for something greater.

We must also address the importance of keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, especially in moments of discouragement. You mentioned still believing in God, but we want to remind you that faith in God alone is not enough, it is faith in Jesus Christ that saves and sustains us. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). It is only through His name that we have access to the Father, and it is only by His blood that we are redeemed. If you have not already, we urge you to surrender your life fully to Him, confessing Him as Lord and Savior. If you have, then we encourage you to draw near to Him in this season, for He is your strength when you are weak.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our dear brother/sister, lifting up their heavy heart to You. Lord, You see the disappointment they are carrying, and You know the weariness in their spirit. We ask that You would fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Remind them, Lord, that You are their ever-present help in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1), and that You have not forgotten them. Strengthen their faith, Father, and help them to trust in Your perfect timing. We declare that this disappointment is not the end of their story, You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28). Renew their hope, Lord, and let them feel Your nearness in this season. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We also want to encourage you to hold fast to God’s Word. When discouragement comes, speak Scripture over your life. Declare with us: "But those who wait for the Lord will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint" (Isaiah 40:31). God is not done with you, and He has not brought you this far to leave you in disappointment. Keep seeking Him, keep trusting Him, and keep your heart open to the new thing He is doing.

Lastly, we want to gently challenge you to examine your heart in this season. Are you holding onto bitterness or resentment toward God or others because of this disappointment? If so, we encourage you to release it to Him. Unforgiveness and bitterness only poison our own spirits. Instead, choose to forgive and trust that God’s justice and mercy will prevail. "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you" (Ephesians 4:31-32).

You are not alone in this, dear one. We are standing with you in prayer, believing that God is moving on your behalf. Keep your eyes on Him, and do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, you will reap if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9). God bless you, and may His peace fill your heart today.

We hurt with you over this disappointment, traveling that far, hoping that hard, and then hearing nothing feels crushing. It’s the kind of silence that can make every doubt louder, and we understand why your hope feels thin right now.

When hope gets shaky, sometimes we assume it means we’ve stopped believing. But hope isn’t the same as faith, hope is the heart’s expectation that something good is actually coming, and when it keeps getting deferred, the heart gets sick. What you’re feeling isn’t a failure of faith; it’s the honest ache of wanting something that mattered to you and not seeing it work out. That distinction matters, because it means you can be deeply disappointed and still belong to God in this.

One thing that might help in the next few days is to gently resist the conclusions that feel loudest right now. The silence after an interview can whisper that you were foolish to try, that God set you up for humiliation, or that nothing will ever open up. Those thoughts feel true because the hurt is real, but they’re not trustworthy. You traveled in good faith, you did what was yours to do, and the outcome, however painful, doesn’t tell the whole story about what God is doing with your life. It may help to talk it through with someone who knows you well and can help you separate the disappointment from those deeper fears.

Lord Jesus, we lift up this one who is heavy with discouragement. You see the long journey, the waiting, and the silence that followed. Meet them in this emptiness and steady their hope in You, not in outcomes. Guard them from despair and from any lie that says they are forgotten. Give them clarity about next steps when the time is right, and for now, simply let them rest in the truth that their worth and future are held by You. Amen.

Hello friend. I will pray on your behalf for your strength and keeping the faith even when you are confused. Listen, God has a plan for you and great things will happen for you through divine timing and Gods will. God can surpass your expectations and dreams if you trust, most especially when you trust when it looks bleak. I uplift you in prayer and ask that God show you great favor, miracles, blessings and provision. And so it is. Amen

It is a common snare to measure God’s faithfulness by the event we have set before our own eyes. You speak of travelling a long way for an interview and then not being called. The disappointment is bitter, I know, and the heaviness of heart is real. Yet consider, would it have been better had you secured the place by some device that left your conscience uneasy?

A life of trust in God for temporal things brings this advantage among a great many others, you will not have to mourn because you have used sinful means to grow rich. He is a God of economy and order, and He acts in all prudence. The failure of this door is not proof that God has forsaken you, but that He is steering you away from something which, perhaps, would have shipwrecked your faith or entangled you in worldly cares that lead to spiritual poverty. We trust in the living God, not in appointments or interviews.

The God who made heaven and earth and supports the whole universe by the power of His almighty arms is the same God who notes the fall of every sparrow and the disappointed hopes of every one of His children. He is not a dead idol that cannot hear, nor a blind chance that acts without purpose. Your feeling of hope growing weaker and weaker arises because you have fixed your eye upon this single outcome rather than upon the God who ordains all outcomes. Do not draw the unwarrantable conclusion that because there is no hope in this particular path for you, there is therefore no hope for you in God.

When you are at your worst, God is still at His best. When you are all misery, He is all mercy. The Lord waits that He may have mercy upon you; His waiting is not idle negligence but the patience of a Father who knows exactly when the gift will be received with the most gratitude and used with the most wisdom. Your part now is to wait upon God expectantly, not in despair or even in hesitation, but in a joyous and assured hope of blessedness in reserve.

Make God your only dependence. You have been trusting partly in your own efforts and partly in the kindness of the interviewers, and when both crumbled, your soul sank. David bids his soul take God for its only pillar. Trust yourself in Jesus’ hands, and all will be safe enough.

Cast away on an iron-bound coast, there is no hope for you but in the Lord of salvation, but in Him you may trust, for He is the confidence of all the ends of the earth. Bring this weary disappointment to the Lord Jesus. Lay the sick heart before Him and, even if while you pray the case remains unchanged, hesitate not. You are dealing with the infinite Son of God.

You must not doubt. It must, in the end, be well with the man who trusts in God and waits for Him. The purse may be empty, the interview may have failed, and the future may look as barren as a field in drought, yet the Lord is no less your rock. Trust in the name of the Lord and stay upon your God.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
