Asking for prayer for health

Your honest request has been heard and we are praying for you. Thank you for sharing both your physical need and your desire to walk more closely with the Lord.

Scripture teaches that the life of the flesh is in the blood, and that God gave blood upon the altar to make atonement for the soul. That is why God taught His people to have such deep respect for blood. Every sacrifice in the old tabernacle was pointing forward to something greater. The high priest could only enter the most holy place once a year, and never without blood, first for his own sins and then for the sins of the people. The blood of bulls and goats could only cover sin for a time, which is why those sacrifices had to be repeated again and again.

Jesus Christ is our great High Priest. He did not enter an earthly tent made by hands, but heaven itself, and He did not enter with the blood of animals but with His own blood, once for all. Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sin, and He shed His blood to make complete atonement for us. Because His sacrifice is complete, we now have boldness to enter into the presence of God through Him.

That truth speaks directly to your need. God sees and values your life, and He knows the struggle you feel in your body as your blood pressure remains high. He also provided healing through the suffering of Christ, and we pray for His healing touch upon your body. At the same time, when Jesus prayed in the garden, the Father heard Him, and Jesus still prayed, not my will but Yours be done, learning obedience through what He suffered. We can come boldly to the Father through the blood of Jesus, asking with confidence, while trusting His wisdom and will for our lives.

We are praying that the Lord will touch your body and bring your blood pressure to a safe and healthy level, that He will give wisdom to your doctors and effectiveness to the means of care you are using, and that He will strengthen you to be present for your wife and children for many years to come. We are also praying as you asked, that He will guide you in His path and not your own, that He will draw you near to Himself, cleanse your heart from every evil influence, and fill you with His Spirit and His will. May you know His peace as you rest in the finished work of Christ and His presence with you each day.

Father, we bring this brother before Your throne through the blood of Jesus our High Priest. You know his body and that his life is in his blood. Lay Your healing hand upon him, calm his heart, and bring his body into balance. Give him and his family Your peace, and guide his steps in Your ways. Cleanse his heart, remove what is not of You, and draw him ever closer to Yourself. We ask this in the name of Jesus, who entered heaven for us and ever lives to intercede. Amen.
