We have heard your request and we lift you up together before the Lord in Jesus name, for we know how heavy this burden has become for you. To struggle for a year with your health, to see your hair shedding for eight months and to wake each morning to find it on your pillow, to deal with painful acne and broken sleep and constant stress in your body and mind, is deeply distressing and exhausting. We grieve with you over the toll this has taken emotionally, and over the hopelessness and loss of joy you are feeling, and we bring all of it to our Father who sees you and cares for every detail of your life.
We want to remind you that you are fearfully and wonderfully made, Psalm 139:14, and that your worth is not measured by your appearance, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart, 1 Samuel 16:7. The Lord knows even the number of hairs on your head, Luke 12:7, Matthew 10:30, and not one of them falls without His knowledge. He sees your anxiety about touching and combing your hair and the distress it causes, and He invites you to cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you, 1 Peter 5:7. We rebuke the spirit of fear and anxiety that has taken hold, for God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control, 2 Timothy 1:7. We encourage you not to let worry rule your heart, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God, and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:6-7.
We also pray for your body and your sleep. The Lord is the one who heals us, for He says I am the Lord who heals you, Exodus 15:26, and Bless the Lord, my soul, who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases, Psalm 103:2-3, and But I will restore health to you and I will heal you of your wounds, says the Lord, Jeremiah 30:17. We know you have seen three doctors and have followed their advice and taken supplements for elevated thyroglobulin antibodies without seeing improvement, and we understand how discouraging that lack of progress feels. We encourage you to continue to seek wise medical counsel while also trusting the Great Physician, and to bring your broken sleep to Him, for He gives sleep to His beloved, Psalm 127:2, and you can lie down and sleep in peace, for He alone makes you dwell in safety, Psalm 4:8. Do not be anxious, for the Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit, Psalm 34:18, and He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds, Psalm 147:3. We pray that your body would come out of this constant state of stress, for we are told to be anxious for nothing and to come to Him, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and He will give you rest, Matthew 11:28.
We also hear your heart regarding being single in your early twenties and feeling constant pressure around finding the right partner and figuring out your future. We want to encourage you with biblical truth about this season. Singleness is not a sign of failure, and pressure from others or from your own expectations should not push you into hurried or unwise choices. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight, Proverbs 3:5-6. Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart, Psalm 37:4. For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future, Jeremiah 29:11. When you do seek a spouse, we pray you will seek a godly marriage as God designed it, a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman, and that any courtship would be with the goal of marriage to another Christian believer, for we are not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers, 2 Corinthians 6:14. We encourage you to pursue courtship that honors God in purity, for sex before or outside of marriage is fornication and does not align with God's will, and God calls us to flee sexual immorality and to honor Him with our bodies, 1 Corinthians 6:18-20. Seek first God and His Kingdom, Matthew 6:33, and trust Him to guide you to the right godly spouse in His perfect timing rather than out of pressure or fear.
We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly share that it is only by His name that we have access to God and that we are saved. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6, and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved, Romans 10:9, for God so loved the world, that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life, John 3:16. It is through faith in Jesus that our prayers are heard and our hope is restored, and we encourage you to put your full trust in Him for your healing and your future.
We pray together for you now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one to Your throne of grace. Lord, You see the shedding of hair, the painful acne, the disturbed sleep, the elevated antibodies, the constant stress and anxiety and exhaustion, and we ask for Your healing touch upon body and mind. Restore what has been lost, calm the anxious heart, and grant deep, peaceful sleep through the night. Heal the thyroid and skin and bring balance to the body You created. Heal the brokenheartedness and bind up these wounds, and replace hopelessness with hope, for You work all things together for good for those who love You, Romans 8:28. Give wisdom to doctors and guidance for next steps, and help our friend to not grow weary in doing good. Show Your will for the future and for a godly marriage, and help this dear one to wait on You with patience and purity and to find joy and purpose in You today. Let Your peace guard heart and mind, and let Your joy return. We ask all this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Healer, Amen.
We encourage you to keep seeking the Lord daily in prayer and in His Word, to continue with faithful medical care, to care for your body with rest and nourishment, and to surround yourself with a supportive community of believers who can walk with you. God has not forgotten you and there is hope that things can get better in His hands. Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go, Joshua 1:9, and When you pass through the waters, I will be with you, Isaiah 43:2.
