We pray it over ourselves first, in submission to Your Word, even as it was the proper example and pattern of Christ, overcoming the devil first on for His own sake in the wilderness, Mt 4:1-11, Mk 1:12-13, Lk 4:1-13, then overcoming the world, flesh and devil for the sake of the world, John 16:33, we pray Your Armor, The Armor of God, on ourselves, Eph 6:10-17, then for others, Eph 6:18-20, applied by faith, as we receive everything else in the same manner, from salvation, Eph 2:8-9, to answered prayer, Mark 11:24, Heb 11:6, James 1:6...

“Finally, brothers and sisters, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the Whole Armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the Whole Armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. We join you in this vital prayer and agree together for the putting on of the whole armor of God as you have asked, first over ourselves and then over our families, leaders, pastors, evangelists, churches, ministry partners, every believer in Christ, and over government and even our enemies.

We love your heart to pray it over ourselves first in submission to the Word, following the pattern of our Lord Jesus who first overcame the devil in the wilderness for His own sake as it is written in Matt 4:1-11, Mark 1:12-13 and Luke 4:1-13, and then overcame the world, the flesh and the devil for our sakes, for He said in John 16:33 I have overcome the world. That is the biblical order and it honors God. We also affirm that this armor is applied by faith, as we receive everything else from salvation as in Eph 2:8-9 for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, to answered prayer as in Mark 11:24 Therefore I tell you, all things whatever you pray and ask for, believe that you have received them, and you shall have them, and Heb 11:6 without faith it is impossible to be well pleasing to him, and James 1:6 But let him ask in faith, without any doubting.

We stand on the Word with you which says in Eph 6:10 Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of his might. Eph 6:11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Eph 6:12 For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Eph 6:13 Therefore put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Eph 6:14 Stand therefore, having the utility belt of truth buckled around your waist, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, Eph 6:15 and having fitted your feet with the preparation of the Good News of peace, Eph 6:16 above all, taking up the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one. Eph 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, Eph 6:18 with all prayer and requests, praying at all times in the Spirit, and being watchful to this end in all perseverance and requests for all the saints.

We also agree that it is right and biblical to pray this covering over those in authority and even over our enemies, for the heart of a king is in Yahweh's hand as in Prov 21:1 The king's heart is in Yahweh's hand like the watercourses. He turns it wherever he desires. And we are commanded in 1 Tim 2:1-4 I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks, be made for all men: for kings and all who are in high places; that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior; who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth. And our Lord Himself commands us to love and pray for our enemies as in Matt 5:44 But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you, and Luke 6:27-28 But I tell you who hear: love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who mistreat you, and Rom 12:14 Bless those who persecute you; bless, and don't curse, and 1 Pet 3:9 not rendering evil for evil, or insult for insult; but instead blessing; knowing that to this were you called, that you may inherit a blessing.

So we pray together with you now. Father in heaven, we come before Your throne in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name by which we have access to You and no other name by which we are saved. We thank You for the provision of the whole armor of God. By faith we put it on ourselves first this day. We gird our waists with truth, we put on the breastplate of righteousness which is Christ's righteousness given to us, we shod our feet with the preparation of the Good News of peace, we take up the shield of faith to quench every fiery dart of the wicked one, we take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit which is Your Word. We pray always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit and we ask for perseverance to keep watch for all the saints. Lord, we now extend this same prayer over our families, over our leaders, over pastors and evangelists, over every church and ministry partner and over every believer in Christ, that we all may be able to stand in the evil day and having done all to stand. We pray it over our government, that You would turn the hearts of those in authority according to Your will, and we pray it even over our enemies, that You would bless them, bring them to repentance and to the knowledge of the truth, and protect us from the wiles of the devil as we love them as You commanded. Give Your people boldness to open our mouths to make known the mystery of the Good News as ambassadors for Christ. We receive this by faith and thank You that You hear us. Thank you for sharing this burden so faithfully. We are encouraged by how you begin with yourself and your own family before extending outward to leaders, pastors, churches, ministry partners, government and even those who would count themselves as enemies. That order matters and reflects a humble, grounded walk.

We know carrying such a wide prayer list can feel heavy at times. It helps to remember this is not a one time effort to get right but a daily training, like learning to walk steadily over time. Small, faithful steps each morning add up more than trying to cover everything perfectly at once.

One simple way to keep this sustainable might be to keep a short written list of the groups you named and linger on one or two each day, always beginning with yourself and your household as you described, then rotating through the others through the week. That keeps the focus personal and unhurried.

Father, we thank You for this brother or sister who wants to stand firm in You. We ask You to guard them and their family, give wisdom to leaders and pastors they lift up, strengthen Your church, and work in the hearts of those in government and even those who oppose You, drawing all toward Your truth and mercy. Keep this one close to You today and give peace in Your presence. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your prayer is according to the mind of the Spirit and very pleasing to God, for you have asked that which is according to His will and His Word. There is no power like that of intercession, and wherever a people give themselves to this blessed work it is a precious gift of grace to the age in which they live. The secret springs that move the puppets of earth, for kings and princes are often little more than that, are the prayers of God's believing people.

You do well to begin as our Lord Himself did, by putting on the armor for yourselves first. He overcame the devil in the wilderness for His own sake before He overcame for the sake of the world, and so must we be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might before we would stand for others. Take up therefore by faith the whole armor of God, not by feeling nor by effort of the flesh, but as you receive all things, from salvation to answered prayer, by faith through grace. Gird your waist with truth, put on the breastplate of righteousness which is Christ's own, shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace, lift up the shield of faith to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one, take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God.

And then, as the apostle teaches, praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful with all perseverance and supplication for all saints. You have seized the right advantage in prayer, to plead the promise and to stand upon the Word, and to pray not only for yourselves and your families, but for pastors and evangelists, for churches and ministry partners, for every believer in Christ, for He prayed not for the world but for them which the Father had given Him, and we who are sons of God by faith in Christ Jesus have the Spirit of adoption to help our infirmities and to make intercession according to the will of God.

So let us pray also for those in authority, for kings and for all that are in high place, as we are commanded in 1 Timothy 2, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty, for the king's heart is in the hand of the Lord as the rivers of water. And let us not forget to pray even for enemies, as our Lord has said, love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, that we may be the children of our Father which is in heaven. He is God both of the hills and of the valleys, and there is no place and no condition where His power cannot deliver and His grace cannot keep.

May the Lord hear you and teach you His statutes. May He clothe you daily with this armor, keep you watchful and steadfast in the evil day, and having done all, cause you to stand. May He give utterance to His people to open their mouths boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, and may His Word run and be glorified in every place where it is preached, till He comes. We join our supplication with yours and wait upon Him who alone can cause rain upon a thirsty land, for He has made all things and He will surely answer those who wait upon Him in faith, through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

We join with you in this prayer and thank God for your desire to be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might according to His Word.

Your pattern is right and biblical, to pray it over yourselves first in submission to the Word, as Christ Himself overcame the devil in the wilderness and then overcame the world for our sake, and then to pray it for others with perseverance and supplication for all the saints. We agree with you for you and your families, for leaders, pastors, evangelists, churches and ministry partners, for every believer in Christ, for government as God commands in 1 Timothy 2 that we pray for all in authority that we may live peaceful lives and that all may come to the knowledge of the truth, and even for enemies as Jesus taught us to love and pray for those who oppose us, that they would repent and be saved.

Knowing the evil art of the enemy, we must fortify ourselves on all sides. Scripture calls us to be like a valiant soldier, continually in armor, sober and watchful, ever looking for the enemy. We do not seek out strife, but when godliness calls we are to stand firm, and having done all, to stand. Put on the whole armor of God so that you may be able to withstand in the evil day. This does not create fear but banishes it, for God has provided all that is needed.

So we pray with you that you would be girded with truth, protected by the breastplate of righteousness, with feet fitted with the readiness of the gospel of peace, taking up the shield of faith to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God, praying always in the Spirit with all perseverance.

Remember also that Christ ever lives to make intercession for those who come to God through Him. He is our great High Priest who saves to the uttermost, and He hears our prayers offered in faith. As you ask in faith, trusting not in the wisdom of men but in the power of God, He is able to keep you unconquered, to bruise the head of the adversary under your feet, and to crown you with the wreath of victory by the grace and love of our Lord Jesus Christ. May you stand firm, speak the mystery of the gospel with boldness as you ought, and attain to all the good things to come. We pray this in the name of Jesus, who alone is our salvation. Amen.
