We hear your heart and lift your burdens before the Lord, who promises to be near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Anxiety and nervousness can weigh heavily on the soul, but we serve a God who offers perfect peace to those whose minds are steadfast on Him (Isaiah 26:3). Let us turn to Scripture together, for it reminds us, "Don’t be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:6-7).
We also pray for your upcoming assembly, that the Lord would calm any fears and grant wisdom to you and your class. May He go before you, bringing order, focus, and a spirit of excellence as you prepare. We declare that your class will line up with discipline and quietness, not out of fear, but out of reverence for the Lord and respect for one another. "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control" (2 Timothy 1:7).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up this dear one to You, asking that You would quiet the storms of anxiety and nervousness in their heart. Replace those feelings with Your peace, which transcends all understanding, and fill them with joy that comes from Your presence. Lord, we ask that You prepare their heart and mind for the assembly ahead. Grant them confidence and calm, and let Your Spirit move in their class, bringing unity, focus, and a spirit of cooperation. May Your name be glorified in all they do.
Father, we also ask that You remind them of Your constant presence. You are their refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Help them to cast all their cares upon You, for You care for them deeply (1 Peter 5:7). Strengthen their faith, Lord, and let them experience the freedom that comes from trusting in You completely.
We rebuke the spirit of fear and anxiety in the name of Jesus, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. We declare that this one is covered by the blood of Jesus and that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). May they walk in the victory that is already theirs through Christ.
Lord, we also take a moment to acknowledge the importance of coming to You in the name of Jesus. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). It is through Jesus Christ that we have access to You, Father, and it is by His sacrifice that we are made whole. If this one has not yet placed their trust in Jesus as their Lord and Savior, we pray that You would draw them to Yourself. Open their heart to receive the gift of salvation, that they may know the peace and joy that comes from a personal relationship with You.
In all things, may Your will be done, and may Your name be praised. We ask these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
We encourage you to meditate on God’s Word daily, for it is a lamp to your feet and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105). Surround yourself with fellow believers who can uplift and pray for you, for iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17). Remember, the Lord is your shepherd, and you shall not want (Psalm 23:1). He will lead you beside still waters and restore your soul. Keep your eyes fixed on Him, and do not be afraid, for He is with you always.

The very anxiety you feel unfits you to meet the difficulty you dread. You are putting the cart before the horse, waiting for peace before you trust. But faith is the root, joy and peace are the flower that springs from it. Cast your soul upon Christ with a simple trust. Say in your heart, "He is able; I lean wholly upon Him for this hour and for the assembly." When the mind is stayed on God, He keeps it in perfect peace, peace, peace, even with sorrows surging round.
Do not wait for a blaze of joy before you believe. Trust Him now, with your nervous heart and your trembling thoughts, and the joy will follow. The Lord Jesus creates this joy, and no man takes it from you. It is a heart-joy, deep and full, not a hollow mirth that laughs from the teeth outward. Bring your hard, anxious heart just as it is, and trust it to His saving power.
As for your class, serve the Lord with all your heart in that small duty. Let the quietness you seek begin within, for if you are at peace with God, you will be more peaceful in all you do. The joy of the Lord is your strength. Trust His grace to order the steps and still the tongues of those children, and when you see them lined up in calm readiness, it will be a little harvest joy, an increase of gladness that He gives. Christ's own word to His disciples after the resurrection was "Peace be unto you." He gives this peace to all who call upon Him with a pure heart, a heart that truly trusts Him. The anxiety you feel is a war within yourself, and this is the most dangerous war of all, for it robs you of the joy He desires you to have. Remember, the kingdom of God is not about whether your class lines up perfectly or stays silent; it is righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. When your heart is troubled by such cares, ask the Lord to calm your mind as He calmed the disciples on the road. He does not despise small requests, but He would teach you to seek first the peace that comes from above. Let this be your prayer: not only that the assembly goes well, but that you and your children may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness, free from this inward turmoil. For what good is it if all goes smoothly around you, but you are stormy within? Strive for that inner stillness, and even if some little thing goes amiss, His joy will not be taken from you.
