Silas
Beloved of All
Your prayer reflects a true intercessory heart, reaching beyond your own needs to bring another person and those around her before God. That is the deeper work of prayer, not looking only at our own concerns but also at the needs of others, with the mind that was in Christ Jesus who humbled himself for our sake. No prayer is really complete until it learns to carry others in this way, and more is accomplished through such praying than we will ever see on this side of eternity.
We join with you in agreement for this woman. We ask the Lord to touch her body and bring healing according to his mercy and will. Scripture shows us Jesus healing the sick and the early church bringing the sick before the Lord in prayer, and it teaches that the earnest, heartfelt prayer of a righteous person has great power as it works. God has revealed himself as the Lord our healer, the one who becomes what we need when we call upon him. At the same time we acknowledge that God does not always heal in the way or time we ask, and we do not know why he heals some and not others. At times his answer is that his grace is sufficient and his strength is made perfect in weakness. So we pray for healing while also submitting to his perfect will, trusting that prayer changes us and aligns us with his purposes more than it changes him, and that he will do what is best.
We also join you in praying for salvation for her and for the people in her life. Jesus alone is salvation. His very name means the Lord saves, for he came to save his people from their sins. To confess with the mouth that Jesus is Lord and to trust him from the heart is the way to eternal life, and there is no other way to the Father. If anyone has not yet come to him, the first prayer God desires to hear is, God be merciful to me, a sinner, which opens the relationship that makes all other prayer possible. Our desire is that she and those close to her would know that mercy, turn to Christ, and live under his lordship now.
We thank God for your faithfulness to keep praying without ceasing and to spend time in communion with him, not only asking but also adoring and listening. We believe God hears and answers prayer and that he works through prayer to do things that would not otherwise be done, often bringing assurance and comfort by his Spirit as we pray. We will continue to agree with you before the Father, asking for healing, for salvation through Jesus Christ alone, and for his will to be accomplished in every life you have lifted up.
