We join you in bringing these requests before our heavenly Father in Jesus' name, and we thank you for closing your prayer in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the throne of grace.

We understand how distressing it can be when a song, its words and sounds, stays in the mind and will not leave. We pray with you that God would bring peace to your mind and to the mind of the one you mentioned, and cleanse that memory. Scripture teaches us that we are to bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, as it says in 2 Corinthians 10:5, and to be transformed by the renewing of our minds in Romans 12:2. We are also encouraged in Philippians 4:8 to think on whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is any praise. We ask God to replace what is unwanted with what is pure and lovely and honoring to Him, and to fill the mind with His peace which surpasses all understanding.

We also join you in praying for salvation for the woman you mentioned and for the people in her life. It is God's desire that all should be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth, and we know from Romans 10:9 that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. And Acts 4:12 reminds us there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We pray that if she or any around her have not yet trusted in Jesus, the Lord would draw them to Himself, open their eyes to the gospel, and bring them to repentance and faith.

We also lift up your request concerning tornadoes and storms. We know that our God is sovereign over all creation, and that even the wind and waves obey Him. Psalm 107:29 says He makes the storm a calm, so that its waves are still, and Psalm 46:1 reminds us that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Nahum 1:3 tells us Yahweh has his way in the whirlwind and in the storm. We trust His perfect will and His power to protect.

We pray together now. Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We ask You to mercifully remove this song with its title, words, sounds and lyrics from memory permanently, for both the one who prayed and for the one for whom they are concerned, and replace it with thoughts that honor You. Renew our minds, Lord, and let Your peace guard our hearts and thoughts in Christ Jesus. Father, we ask for Your saving grace to be poured out on the woman lifted up here and on all the people in her life. If any are in need of salvation, draw them by Your Holy Spirit, grant them repentance and faith to believe on Jesus and confess Him as Lord, that they may be saved. We also ask for Your merciful hand of protection over North Carolina, over every state and every country in the world, and we ask that You would restrain destructive tornadoes and storms according to Your will, and keep people safe, while helping us to trust in Your sovereignty and goodness in all things. We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and our salvation. Amen.

We encourage you to continue to cast your cares on Him, to fill your mind daily with Scripture, worship that is pleasing to the Lord, and prayer, and to trust that God hears and answers according to His perfect wisdom and love.

We are grateful you shared what has been weighing on you, especially that song that keeps returning when you want quiet. It is understandable to feel worn down when something unwanted replays in your mind, and to ask God for relief.

When it comes back, it can help to respond gently rather than wrestling hard with it. We have found it helpful to simply notice it without judgment, offer a short prayer for peace, and then intentionally turn toward something you have chosen, like a favorite hymn, Scripture chorus, or the work right in front of you. Doing that calmly and repeatedly often makes the tune less powerful over time. If it continues to feel very distressing, talking it through with a trusted pastor or counselor alongside prayer can be a steady support.

We also hear your tender care for ### and for the people in her life, and your longing for their salvation and for safety from storms. That compassion reflects God's own heart for people to know Him and to be kept safe.

Father, we lift this dear one to You, asking for quiet in their mind and rest from that repeating song, for Your drawing near to ### and her loved ones that they would know Your saving grace, and for Your mercy and protection over communities facing the threat of tornadoes. Your request has been carried before the throne of grace and we join our hearts with yours in prayer to our heavenly Father.

Concerning that song which troubles your memory, we understand how the mind may be haunted by sounds and words that will not depart, till you feel as one under a taskmaster. It is of small use for the afflicted in mind to look to man alone, for only God can deliver. He knows our frame and that our strength, if it be our own, will one day fail us. Yet they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. We have prayed that the Lord would graciously cleanse your thoughts and lift this burden from you, and that He would give you a nobler tune. We have a far richer theme for music than the vain songs of this world, for we have been delivered from worse enemies and saved by a greater salvation through the blood of Christ which cleanses us from all sin. May the Lord fill your mind with His own precious thoughts, and with psalms and songs of deliverance, so that when you awake you may still be with Him.

We have prayed also for her of whom you speak, and for all those round about her, that if they are yet without Christ they may be saved. There is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved, and no other ransom for sinners going down to the pit. God has found a ransom in the substitutionary sacrifice of His own Son, and that way of deliverance could never have entered the mind of man, but only the mind of God. We ask that the Lord in His mercy would open their eyes to see their need, and bring them to faith in Jesus Christ alone for justification and for sanctification, for deliverance from the guilt and from the power of sin.

Touching the storms and tornadoes of which you make mention, we have entreated the Lord for mercy upon North Carolina and upon every state and country. He was God when as yet sun and moon slept in His thoughts like unborn forests in an acorn, and He will be God when this brief creation shall melt away, and not a wind moves but by His permission. His thoughts are not as our thoughts, nor His ways as our ways, for as the heavens are higher than the earth so are His ways higher than ours. We cannot command the winds, but we can commit ourselves and our fellow creatures to Him who rides upon the storm and holds the waters in His hand. We pray that He would in His goodness spare life and restrain destruction, and that in all things we may trust His wise and tender and gracious providence, knowing that He makes the deliverance of His people effectual in His own time.

May the Lord hear your cry, renew your strength, keep your mind in perfect peace as you stay it upon Him, and cause you to live and declare the works of the Lord. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, to whom be glory forever. Amen.
