We join you in prayer and we thank you for coming before the heavenly Father in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to God and it is only by His name that we can be saved. We rejoice that you closed your request in Jesus' name, for Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12
We want to gently address your request concerning drivers in Massachusetts not paying for auto insurance. While we understand the burden that costs and financial pressures can bring, we cannot in good conscience pray that people would avoid obeying the law or fail to meet their lawful obligations. Scripture calls us to be subject to the governing authorities and to fulfill what we owe, for Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God. Romans 13:1 and Give therefore to everyone what you owe: taxes to whom taxes are due; customs to whom customs; respect to whom respect; honor to whom honor. Romans 13:7 In Massachusetts, auto insurance is required by law and it also serves to love our neighbor by protecting others on the road from harm and financial loss. To pray to avoid paying would be to pray to neglect responsibility and to dishonor our testimony. Instead we pray for God's provision, wisdom, and stewardship for every driver, that the Lord would supply what is needed and help each one act honestly and diligently.
We also hear your heart for this husband who may be in need of salvation and we wholeheartedly agree with you in this. This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior; who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth. 1 Timothy 2:3-4 Our God longs for none to perish but for all to come to repentance, and we pray with you that this man would come to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior if he does not already.
We lift these needs together before the Father.
Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we thank You for Your mercy and grace. We ask that You provide for every driver in Massachusetts and everywhere who is struggling with the cost of insurance and other obligations. You have promised My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19 We pray You would grant wisdom to be good stewards, to find honest and affordable provision, to work diligently, and to obey the laws of the land with a clear conscience before You and before others. Help us to love our neighbors by being responsible and not seeking to evade what is right. Lord, we also lift up this husband to You. If he does not yet know You, we pray that You would draw him by Your Holy Spirit, open his eyes to the truth of the gospel, and bring conviction and faith. We pray that he would believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved, as You have promised Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household. Acts 16:31 Place godly influences around him, give his wife wisdom and grace to live out her faith with love and respect within the sanctity of marriage, and let their home honor You. We ask all this according to Your will in the precious name of Jesus Christ, amen.
We encourage you to continue to pray for provision rather than exemption, and to trust God to meet daily needs as you walk in obedience. Continue also to pray faithfully for this husband, to share the hope of Christ with gentleness, and to trust the Lord's timing for salvation, knowing that God is faithful to hear every prayer offered in Jesus' name.

Your petitions have been brought before us and we thank you for your confidence in prayer, for intercessory prayer is among the sweetest prayers God ever hears and it is exceedingly prevalent before Him. What wonders it has wrought, and as to how many souls it has instrumentally saved, eternity itself shall reveal. To plead for another soul before the mercy seat is to follow in the very steps of Christ who ever liveth to make intercession.
Concerning your first request for drivers in Massachusetts to be excused from paying for auto insurance, we cannot in good conscience ask our heavenly Father to bless the setting aside of a lawful obligation. The Scripture teaches us to be subject unto the governing authorities and to render to all their dues, tribute to whom tribute is due and custom to whom custom. To drive upon the public roads while refusing the provision the law requires would not be honest stewardship nor loving to our neighbor, whom we might harm and leave without help. Rather than pray for exemption from what is required, we will pray that the Lord in His providence will supply what is needed, grant wisdom in stewardship, contentment in provision, and a conscience that desires to do what is just and of good report before God and man. If the burden is heavy, we may ask Him to open ways of provision and to give grace to bear what He appoints.
Concerning your second request for the husband of one dear to you, we do most gladly join you in earnest intercession. This is a right and holy burden. We pray with you that if he is yet outside of Christ, the Lord will mercifully draw him to salvation. Know that salvation is of the Lord alone and is to be found in none other than Christ Jesus. The Scripture says, Whoever believes on Him shall not be ashamed. It is not by works nor by price nor by merit, but without money and without price, by looking unto Him and trusting in Him alone. Salvation is to look unto Christ and be saved, to commit the soul into His hands and to trust Him with all the heart. There is only one way of salvation for all, and that way is faith in the Person and finished work of Jesus Christ who is Himself our salvation.
We encourage you to continue steadfast in this intercession, spreading your case before the Most High and pleading with Him with humble and argumentative prayer as Jacob did, yet with submission to His sovereign will and timing. Pray that the Word may come to this man with power, that he may be brought to see his need, to look unto Christ, to believe on Him and live, and that his salvation may be secure and irreversible in the hands of a faithful Saviour.
We will pray thus, that God would provide for every honest need of those who must meet the requirements of the law, and that He would in His great mercy grant saving faith to this husband, bringing him to look unto Jesus and be saved, to the praise of His grace. May the Lord hear and bless for His name's sake. Amen.
