Heavenly Father, we ask in the name of Jesus Christ that You would draw each of them to Yourself, open their eyes to see their need for a Savior, and soften their hearts to receive Your truth. Your prayer for the salvation of others is itself a token of grace at work in you, for it is a great advance upon anxiety for our own salvation when we have risen into the broader region of care for a brother's soul. Such intercession is precious, for when we pray for our fellow sinners we are in sympathy with our Divine Saviour who made intercession for the transgressors, and it is an act of communion with Christ, who always lives to make intercession for us before His Father's throne.
We do join you in this burden, and we pray with you that the Lord will be pleased to bring this one you have named, and those who follow him, and all those in his life, to a saving knowledge of Himself if they know Him not already. My heart's desire and prayer for them is that they may be saved.
We must remember that there is no other way of salvation. Scripture says, Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth, and again, Whoever believes on Him shall not be ashamed. Salvation is by Divine Grace through faith in Christ Jesus alone, without money and without price. It is not by works or ceremonies, but by looking to Christ who loved us and gave Himself for us, and by believing with the heart unto righteousness and confessing with the mouth unto salvation. There is nowhere else to look, for beside Him there is none else.
Therefore we will wait upon the Lord and continue to plead for these souls. Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before Thee through Jesus Christ Thy Son, who alone is the way of salvation. We ask in His name that Thou wouldst have mercy upon this soul and upon his followers and upon all connected with him. Your prayer for ### and his followers and all those in his life is good and pleasing before God, for He wills that all people be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth which is faith in His Son.
We join together with you in this prayer, for prayer does mightily contribute to mercy. As Scripture shows, God Himself delivers, yet He also works through the prayers of His people helping together for one another. It is a good thing to have the prayers of others, and we gladly add ours to yours.
At the same time we must remember that hope of salvation cannot rest in another, but in each person turning to the lovingkindness of God for himself. Salvation is in Christ Jesus alone, with eternal glory, and each one must respond with repentance and faith. For what is a person profited if he gains the whole world and loses his own soul. Therefore we pray not only that God would open the ears of their hearts which are still shut, but that they would wash away every stain by repentance, by tears, by prayer, and by a pure course of life, believing on the Lord Jesus Christ.
Continue to be watchful in prayer and in love for them. Keep asking that the Father would draw each of them to His Son, grant them repentance, and lead them into a life that is pure and pleasing to Him.
