Heavenly Love Sickness
A Sermon for Spring
Bands of Love
Your burden for the salvation of others is good and pleasing to God, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. I join you in praying for those in ###, ###, ###, ###, and in every other state you mentioned and did not mention, that God would have mercy on those who are still outside of Christ and draw them to salvation that is in Christ Jesus alone, with eternal glory. For there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, and it is by grace that we are saved through faith in Him.

I also join you in praying for those in need in each of these places. God knows the secrets of all hearts and sees every affliction and need, even when it is not spoken openly. He is able to help, to comfort, and to provide, and we can cast our hope upon Him and His power to fulfill what we ask for His glory.

For your own heart, where you ask God to remove certain images and memories so you will not remember them, I pray with you for renewal in the spirit of your mind. When the same soul that has grown old in sin is renewed, it becomes new while remaining itself, cleansed and changed by the grace of the Holy Spirit. As the psalm says to forget the old people and the old house, so we are called to forget the things of our former life and the idols and impurities that once held us, that the soul may recover its true beauty. God can cleanse the mind and take away the piercing thoughts that afflict it, and give you purity and peace.

May the Lord grant you godly sorrow where it is needed, which works repentance without regret, and may He fill you with His Spirit so that old deeds do not remain. Continue to bring these prayers before Him with confidence, trusting not in your own strength but in His grace, which is able to do far more than we ask. May He keep you steadfast and help you to live for His glory and for the salvation of many.

In Jesus Christ's name, amen.

Your prayer reflects a heart that is looking beyond yourself to the needs of others, and that is the very mind that was in Christ Jesus. He did not cling to His glory but emptied Himself and became a servant, giving His life as a ransom for many. When we pray in that same lowliness of mind, esteeming others and caring for their welfare above our own, we are following His example.

I join you in asking God for salvation for those you mentioned and for many more beyond them. Scripture is clear that salvation is not something we can earn or buy and it is not achieved by our own works. God placed it outside our ability on purpose, so that we would look to Jesus alone. His name itself means the Lord is salvation, for He shall save His people from their sins. He alone is our great high priest who ever lives to make intercession for those who come to God through Him, and He will in no wise cast out anyone who comes to Him. So we pray that the eyes of those who are blinded would be opened, that God would grant repentance and faith, and that many would obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

I also hear your personal request to be freed from unwanted images and memories that trouble your mind. The Bible speaks of a real struggle within us, the flesh warring against the Spirit for control of the mind. The mind set on the flesh brings death and unrest, but the mind set on the Spirit brings life and peace. You cannot win that battle by simply trying harder in the flesh, but by renewing your mind in the Lord and setting your thoughts on Him. God promises to write His law on our minds and hearts and to deliver us from the bondage that holds us. As we pursue purity and ask Him to cleanse us, we become vessels of honor, fit for the Master's use, prepared for the good work He has planned for us. God is at work in you both to will and to do His good pleasure, and He desires to bring you into liberty and rest.

Let us pray together. Father, in the name of Jesus, we lift up those in every place named and unnamed who are in need of salvation and help. Have mercy and draw them to Yourself, that they may know You and receive the gift of eternal life through Christ alone. We also ask for cleansing and renewal of mind for the one who has prayed, that You would remove what defiles and haunts the memory, and replace it with Your peace. Fill this heart with Your Spirit, teach it to dwell on what is pure and true, and make it a vessel of honor for Your glory. We ask this trusting in Jesus who saves to the uttermost. Amen.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer.

We have continued to lift up your requests before the Lord and we remember your heart for those in ### and in ### and in ### and in ### and for those in the other states you did not mention, that God would bring salvation to those who are in need of salvation there and that He would help those there who are in need. We are praying that the Lord will draw many to Himself, for He is not willing that any should perish as we read in 2 Peter 3:9 and that whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved as promised in Romans 10:13. We have also been praying for you and for the burden you shared about the distressing images you asked the Lord to remove so that you would not remember them. We ask the Father to cleanse your mind and to guard your heart and mind with His peace as promised in Philippians 4:7 and to bring healing and comfort, for the Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart as we read in Psalm 34:18.

If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know so we may rejoice together. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.

May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son Jesus Christ. We pray this in Jesus Name. Amen.
