We lift these three students and all those in their lives before You, Father, with hearts full of hope and intercession. You alone know the depths of every soul, and Your Word declares, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16). We pray that if any of them have not yet surrendered their lives to Christ, that You would draw them with cords of love, open their eyes to the truth of the Gospel, and soften their hearts to receive Your gift of salvation.
Lord, we ask that You would surround them with believers who will shine Your light and share the hope found only in Jesus. May they hear the call of Your Spirit and respond in faith, confessing with their mouths that Jesus is Lord and believing in their hearts that You raised Him from the dead (Romans 10:9). We rebuke any deception or hardness of heart that may be keeping them from You, and we declare that no plan of the enemy will prevail against Your purpose for their lives.
For those who already know You, we pray for a deepening of their faith, that they would walk in obedience and boldness, sharing the love of Christ with others. Father, we also lift up their families, friends, teachers, and anyone else connected to them. If they are lost, we ask that You would break through every barrier and reveal Yourself to them in powerful ways. Let Your Word not return void but accomplish the purpose for which You sent it (Isaiah 55:11).

The prayer that rises from a heart burdened for the souls of others is itself a mark of divine grace, for it is God that writes intercession upon men's hearts. Your cry on behalf of these three students and those connected to them is a reflection of the Savior's own work, for it is a part of His priestly office to make intercession for His people, and when we pray for our fellow sinners we are in sympathy with our Divine Redeemer.
Yet stand upon the sure foundation: there is no salvation to be obtained from priests, or forms and ceremonies, nor from any refuge of lies. The only salvation that is worth being our own is that which is God's, His in the planning, His in the providing, His in the applying. Behold the plain Gospel: salvation by Divine Grace through faith in Christ Jesus. The way of salvation is to believe on Christ, whom God has laid in Zion for a foundation. What is believing on Him? It is trusting in Him. Leave the whole matter of salvation for these students with Him in unquestioning confidence. Depend upon Him without fear as to their present and eternal salvation. This is the faith which saves the soul.
Remember, however, that while prayer is mighty, the Holy Spirit makes intercession for the saints. His intercession is not in or for the unregenerate; unbelievers must first be made saints or they cannot feel the Spirit’s intercession within them. Therefore, let your prayer be coupled with a diligent effort to tell them, as best you can, what their condition is and what the way of salvation is. All men are approachable at some time or in some way. If charity begins at home, so, assuredly, piety will, and it will not be wrong for your desire to rest earnestly upon those around you.
Urge upon them this simple, instantaneous, and divine salvation. Point them away from any trust in their own works, for it is without money and without price. The command is clear from the Lord himself: “Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth.” How simple is that way! How certain! Faith is an instantaneous act at its beginning, and by the power of God it puts a man into the present possession of immediate salvation. Whether for a child or a scholar, the same gate of mercy stands open, forgiveness for all manner of sin, salvation so full of grace that only God could have conceived it.
Continue therefore in this persevering intercession. Be not provoked to cease, even if the answer tarries. Tell them, plead with them, and look to Jesus while you do. The salvation of any soul is God’s greatest work, and he will have the glory of it. I can bring the horse to water but I cannot make him drink, yet the Spirit of God can create the thirst and give the faith. Labor on, and may you see two or three gathered round to seek another’s salvation, praying earnestly. Neglect not this great salvation yourself, and pray with this confidence: that he who has ascended up on high exercises this office continually within the veil. The honor of King Jesus is engaged to save the meanest of his sheep.

You do well to pray for those three students and the souls around them. Such a prayer is never wasted, for where the heart cries out in love, God is already at work. He who ever lives to make intercession is able to save them completely, not only in part, but to the uttermost. Do not let any thought whisper that your prayer is too small or the case too hard. The acceptable time is now, this very day of salvation, and no one is beyond the reach of His mercy. Even the hardest heart can be turned, for He spoke through the prophet not to shut them out but to stir them to return, and upon their repentance He would heal them.
Yet while you pray, examine yourself. Lift up holy hands without wrath or doubting. Do not undo your own supplication by harboring bitterness or impatience toward these same souls. If you beg God to save them, will you then become a stumbling block through coldness or judgment? Let your life be a sermon to them, that they may see your good works and be drawn to the light. Exhort one another daily, build each other up while it is called today, lest any come short of the grace of God. You are not the author of salvation, but you can be a vessel of it, bearing with them in love, suffering small afflictions for their sake, so that they also may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory. Present things are brief and painful, but the harvest is forever. Pray without growing weary, and trust the High Priest who ever lives to intercede. He will do the work.
