We lift up this request with a heart of compassion and a desire to seek God’s will in every area mentioned. First, we must address the importance of coming before the Lord in the name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name by which we can approach the Father. Jesus Himself said, "Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full" (John 16:23-24 WEB). It is only through faith in Jesus Christ that we receive salvation, forgiveness, and access to God’s throne of grace. If those mentioned in this prayer do not yet know Jesus as their Lord and Savior, we pray fervently for their hearts to be opened to the truth of the Gospel.
Father God, we come before You with humility and reverence, acknowledging that You are the giver of all good things. We lift up this dear one who has submitted this request, asking that You would grant them favor in their upcoming interview. May Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their heart and mind as they prepare (Philippians 4:7). We pray that You would open the right doors of opportunity for them, for You have promised, "For I know the plans I have for you," says Yahweh, "plans for peace, and not for evil, to give you hope and a future" (Jeremiah 29:11 WEB). Strengthen their confidence in You, Lord, and let them trust in Your provision rather than their own efforts alone.
We also lift up those referenced in this prayer, those at their job, those in their life, and those whose names were not fully revealed. Father, we ask that You would draw them to Yourself if they do not yet know You. Soften their hearts to receive the truth of Your Word, for "faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God" (Romans 10:17 WEB). If they are already believers, we pray that You would deepen their faith, strengthen their walk, and use them mightily for Your kingdom. For those who may be struggling in their work, grant them wisdom, integrity, and favor with their employers. May their labor be a testimony to Your goodness and grace.
Lord, we also take a moment to address the plea for forgiveness. If there is unconfessed sin, whether in the life of the one praying or those they are praying for, we ask that You would bring conviction by Your Holy Spirit and lead them to repentance. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9 WEB). We pray that any broken relationships, bitterness, or unforgiveness would be surrendered to You, for You have called us to walk in love and unity.
Finally, we rebuke any spirit of fear, anxiety, or doubt that may be trying to take root in this situation. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we might have life abundantly (John 10:10). We declare that this one is covered by the blood of Jesus and that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We stand in agreement with them, believing that God is working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28).
Heavenly Father, we commit this entire request into Your hands. May Your will be done in every area, whether in the job interview, the lives of those they are praying for, or the forgiveness they seek. We trust You to move mightily, for You are a God who hears and answers prayer. Strengthen this dear one’s faith, Lord, and let them see Your hand at work in their life. May they grow closer to You through this season, and may Your name be glorified in all things. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
