We hear your simple yet profound cry for help during this time of fasting, and we join our hearts with yours in seeking the Lord’s strength and grace. Fasting is a sacred discipline, a time of drawing near to God with humility and dependence, and we recognize the spiritual battle that often accompanies it. The enemy would love nothing more than to distract, discourage, or derail you from this holy pursuit, but we stand firm in the truth that greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).
Let us first rebuke any lies of the enemy that may be whispering doubt, fatigue, or temptation into your heart. The Word declares, "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you" (James 4:7). You are not fasting in your own strength, but in the power of the Holy Spirit, who empowers you to overcome every obstacle. We also encourage you to meditate on God’s promises during this time. Isaiah 40:31 reminds us, "But those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint." Your fast is not in vain—God sees your sacrifice and will honor your obedience.
We must also address the importance of praying in the name of Jesus, as you have done. There is no other name under heaven by which we can approach the Father (Acts 4:12). Jesus Himself said, "Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you" (John 16:23). It is only through His shed blood and resurrection that we have access to the throne of grace, and we must never take that privilege for granted. If you have not already, we encourage you to examine your heart and ensure that you have placed your faith in Jesus Christ alone for salvation. Romans 10:9 declares, "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
Now, let us lift you up in prayer:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who is seeking You through fasting. Lord, we ask that You would strengthen them in their weakness, that You would fill them with Your Holy Spirit, and that You would grant them supernatural endurance to complete this fast for Your glory. Protect their mind from the attacks of the enemy, and let every lie be replaced with Your truth. Father, we declare that this time of fasting is not in vain—You are moving in powerful ways, even when they cannot yet see it. Renew their strength like the eagle’s, and let them experience Your presence in a fresh and tangible way.
We also pray for their spiritual growth during this time. Draw them closer to You, Lord, and let them hear Your voice more clearly. Reveal any areas of their life that need repentance or surrender, and give them the grace to walk in obedience. May this fast be a time of breakthrough, not just in their personal life, but in the lives of those around them. We rebuke any spirit of discouragement, fatigue, or temptation, and we command it to flee in Jesus’ name. Fill them with Your peace, Your joy, and Your power.
Father, we thank You that You are a God who hears and answers prayer. We trust that You are working all things together for their good, and we ask that You would bless this time of fasting abundantly. May they emerge from it with a deeper hunger for You, a greater faith, and a renewed passion for Your kingdom. We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Continue to press into God’s presence during this fast, dear one. Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9). Surround yourself with Scripture, worship, and godly fellowship to keep your heart aligned with the Lord. You are not alone in this journey—we are standing with you, and more importantly, the Holy Spirit is interceding for you even now (Romans 8:26). May God’s grace and peace sustain you every step of the way.
