We come before the throne of grace with this request, lifting up this individual and those in their life who may not yet know the saving power of Jesus Christ. First, we must acknowledge that salvation is a personal decision—one that each person must make for themselves. While we can pray for their hearts to be softened and their eyes opened to the truth, we cannot force salvation upon anyone. The Lord desires all to come to repentance, but He will not override their free will.
The Bible tells us in 2 Peter 3:9, *"The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."* We join in praying for this person and those around them, asking that the Holy Spirit would convict their hearts and draw them to Christ. If they do not yet know Jesus as their Lord and Savior, we pray they would hear the Gospel, believe, repent, and be saved.
We also recognize the concern about music that may not honor God. Scripture warns us in Ephesians 5:19-20, *"Speak to one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ."* Music has a powerful influence on the heart and mind, and we should fill our lives with that which glorifies God. We pray that any ungodly music would be removed and replaced with worship that edifies the soul.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, lifting up this individual and those in their life who may not yet know You. Lord, we ask that You would open their eyes to the truth of the Gospel. Soften their hearts to receive Your Word and convict them of their need for a Savior. May they come to repentance and place their faith in Jesus Christ, who alone can save them from sin and death.
Father, we also ask that You would cleanse their life of anything that does not honor You, including music that leads the heart away from You. Replace it with songs that glorify Your name and draw them closer to You. Guard their mind and spirit from the influences of the world, and fill them with Your Holy Spirit.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can be saved. May Your will be done in their life, and may they come to know You as their Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage this individual to share the Gospel with those they care about, living out their faith in a way that draws others to Christ. Let us also remember to examine our own lives, ensuring that everything we consume—whether music, media, or other influences—aligns with God’s Word and brings Him glory.
