We join you in this simple and sincere prayer for safety both in this life and in eternity, and we bring your request before our Heavenly Father together in Jesus' name.
We hear your heart crying out to be kept safe always, even through death, and to be on the better side when this life ends. That better side is to be present with the Lord forever in heaven, and the Bible tells us clearly how we can have assurance of that. We want to gently share something very important with you, because your prayer did not mention Jesus. It is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to God and the assurance of eternal safety. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. God hears us because Jesus opened the way through His death and resurrection.
God's desire is for you to be safe forever, and He made that possible because For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16. This promise becomes ours when we put our trust in Jesus, that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9. To be on the better side is not something we earn by being good enough, but a gift we receive by believing in Jesus, repenting of our sin, and following Him.
We pray for you now.
Father, we lift up this dear one to You and thank You that they are seeking Your protection and Your presence beyond this life. We ask that You reveal Yourself to them through Jesus Christ Your Son. Draw them to believe in Jesus with all their heart, to confess Him as Lord, and to receive the forgiveness of sins and the promise of eternal life. Keep them safe in Your hands each day, and give them peace knowing that nothing can separate them from Your love when they are in Christ. We pray they will know the comfort of Your presence even in dark valleys, for Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me. Your rod and your staff, they comfort me. Psalm 23:4. And we claim Your promise for those who belong to Jesus, I give eternal life to them. They will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. John 10:28. Help them to walk with You daily, to read Your Word, to pray in Jesus' name, and to grow in assurance that to be absent from the body is to be at home with the Lord. 2 Corinthians 5:8. We ask all this in the saving and mighty name of Jesus Christ, our only hope for safety now and forever. Amen.

Your prayer goes to the very root of what every soul must seek, to be kept safe not only in this life but when death comes, and to be found on the better side when this world is done. This fear of death is natural to man as a sinner, and in the economy of humanity it answers a wise purpose, for it keeps men from presumption. Yet while it is natural to the sinner, it is not necessary to the saint, and it ought not to hold you in bondage.
Where then shall we look to be delivered from the fear of death. Scripture answers, looking unto Jesus. He it is who conquers for us the fear of death. Let your eyes be always looking to Him, and that fear will not make you subject to bondage. Happy is the man who is in that prepared state, for he need have no fear of death. To be prepared is to be found in Christ, washed in His precious blood and clothed in His righteousness.
For salvation is of the Lord alone. No human intellect assisted God in the planning of it, and no strength of our own can accomplish it. Grace is the fountainhead of salvation and is most conspicuous throughout. Neither is there salvation in any other, for there is none other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved. Whatever other way men invent, hear its death knell tolled from this verse. There is one way, and that way is Jesus Christ, who was slain and has redeemed us to God by His blood.
That better side for which you pray is the Heaven of Heaven, which is to see Jesus. There the saints are without fault before the throne of God, rid of inbred sin and the plague of the heart, and they sing, Thou art worthy, for Thou wast slain. But that same face which is Heaven to His people will be terror to those who are not in Him, for who may abide the day of His coming and who shall stand when He appeareth. To enter fully into that inheritance we have only to cross the narrow stream of death, and scarcely that, for the kingdom of Heaven must be in us before we can be in Heaven.
Therefore use the telescope very frequently. Look by faith to Christ now. Believe God in justice till you tremble, then see that justice vindicated in the suffering and death of the Lord Jesus, and rest in the mercy of God which through the cross comes justly down to guilty men.
We will pray for you, that the Lord who is gracious and full of compassion would keep you safe in His hands, grant you repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ, and bring you to that certain salvation which is all of grace, that when He calls you hence you may see His face with joy and be with the Lamb who is your Shepherd and your Fountain forever. Seek Him while He may be found, trust Him with your soul today, and you shall find that to live is Christ and to die is gain.
