We hear the cry of your heart for safety both now and for eternity and we join with you in bringing this before our Heavenly Father.
Your desire to be kept safe and to go to the better side when you die reflects a deep truth that God has placed eternity in our hearts. We want to gently share that the better side you long for is to be present with the Lord in heaven, and Jesus Himself has made the way for us to have assurance of this. We noticed your prayer did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to lovingly share why His name is so essential, for it is only through Him that we have access to God and the promise of eternal life. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. And scripture tells us that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9. For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16. To be safe forever is to belong to Jesus by faith, repenting of sin and trusting Him as Savior and Lord.
We find great comfort in God's promises for those who are in Christ. He promises His presence and protection in this life, He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust. Psalm 91:1-2. And concerning death, we do not need to fear, for Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me. Your rod and your staff, they comfort me. Psalm 23:4. For the believer, to die is not an end but a homecoming, We are courageous, I say, and are willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be at home with the Lord. 2 Corinthians 5:8. Jesus gives eternal security to His own, I give eternal life to them. They will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. John 10:28.

Father in heaven, we lift up this precious soul to You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We ask that You reveal Yourself to them as their refuge and fortress and keep them safe in Your hands each day. Lord, we pray that You would draw them to place their full trust in Jesus for the forgiveness of sins and the gift of eternal life, that they may have complete assurance that when this earthly life ends they will be at home with You. Remove all fear of death and fill their heart with Your peace that passes understanding. Help them to walk with You daily, to read Your Word and to know Your love more deeply. We ask that You guide them into a living relationship with Jesus, for there is no other name by which we can be saved. We entrust them to Your merciful keeping now and forever. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

Your earnest cry has been heard, and it touches upon the greatest of all matters, for you have asked not for earthly trifles but for safety in life and in death and for a portion on the better side.
The Scripture teaches us that what you seek is called eternal life, and this eternal life is not merely Heaven hereafter, though it includes it. Eternal life commences here, it begins in the believer as soon as he is born again. Then he receives into him that same life which he will have throughout eternity. It is not a thing of changes, but the same Divine life imparted by grace here below, only developed and brought to perfection in glory. The life of believers in Heaven, the life that never sins and is undiluted bliss, is exactly the same life that is in the believer right now.
In what does this life consist. Our Lord has told us, This is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. No man really knows God who does not accept Him as his God, and to accept God as your God in Christ is eternal life. It is to get where life is life indeed, not mere existence, for existence may be a curse, but this life is a blessing.
Know also that this life is a gift. None of us merits eternal life, or ever can merit it. It is a gift too high for the fingers of human merit to hope to reach. We all fell in Adam and have fallen also by actual sin, and this long lost life Jesus Christ restores to every soul who believes in Him. He says, I give unto them eternal life and they shall never perish. Mark that word, I give. It begins here, and because it is eternal, it never ends. How can that be eternal which comes to an end. Language is meant to reveal truth, and eternal life means a life that never ends, a continuous life linked with the life of Christ, for because He lives, His people shall live also.
The better side for which you pray is indeed a better place, but its chief blessing, the cream of Heaven, the Heaven of Heaven, is that the saints shall there see Jesus. Christ is all in all to us here, and therefore we long for a Heaven in which He shall be all in all to us forever. There they shall hunger no more and thirst no more, for the Lamb shall lead them to fountains of waters of life, and God shall wipe away all tears.
How then may you be kept safe always, even when you die, and be sure of that better side. By laying hold even now upon eternal life through faith in the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ. Faith must be in Him, not in a mere hope or prayer, but believing on Him with unquestioning confidence for present and eternal salvation. Believe on the one appointed Saviour and enter into eternal life. Without this new life within, profession is a fearful mockery, but he that believes on the Son has everlasting life as a present possession.
So we pray for you, that the Lord would keep you in His own hand where no enemy can pluck you away, that He would give you even now to know the only true God and Jesus Christ whom He has sent, that you would be born again by the Holy Spirit and receive that heavenly life which begins here and expands into glory. May you rehearse the service and joy of Heaven even now by living in fellowship with Christ, and may you find that to live upon the First Cause, the living Christ Himself, is safety both for time and for eternity.
May the Lord grant you this gift of His free grace, and keep you unto the day when you shall see Him face to face. Amen.

Your prayer asks for the very thing God has provided through the cross, and it is good that you have brought it before Him.
Engrave upon your mind that the cross has saved and converted the world. Because of it, death is no longer death, but a sleep. Because of it, all that wars against us is cast down and trodden under foot, and earth itself is made like heaven, for men are fashioned to live as citizens of heaven.
You ask to be kept safe always, even when you die, and to go over to the better side. This is what Scripture calls so great a salvation. It is not rescue from earthly trouble only, but the dissolution of death, the destruction of the power of the devil, and the gift of the kingdom of heaven and everlasting life. Do not neglect it, but embrace it with your whole soul.
That better side is opened to us by a new and living way. The first way was a way of death leading down, but Christ has opened the gates of heaven which were closed before, and He Himself is the living way that remains. Through Him we may come near with boldness and assurance of hope.
Therefore do not fear as those without hope fear. The Lord said not to fear those who can kill the body but are not able to kill the soul. The body may die, but the soul is safe in His hands when it belongs to Him. If you give yourself to Him, He Himself will keep what you entrust to Him and will carry it into heaven. He does not despise long suffering, but desires to give you not wrath but salvation, not punishment but a crown.
So treasure up salvation. Trust in Jesus Christ alone, for it is God who justifies, and Christ who died and intercedes for us. Come to Him in repentance and faith, walk in His ways, and you will behold Him with boldness.
I have prayed for you that God who pricks the heart and gives the spirit of compunction will plant this hope deeply in you, keep you in safety in life and in death, and grant you to attain that heavenly kingdom where there is life without end. Amen.
