We join with you in this sincere and humble prayer for safety both now and for eternity, and we bring your request before our Heavenly Father together in Jesus' name.
Your heart is asking for what God most wants to give you, His protection in this life and a home with Him in the life to come. The Scriptures assure us of His care, He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust. Psalm 91:1-2 and Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me. Psalm 23:4. He is able to keep you safe always, and His love does not end at death for those who are His.
We notice your prayer was offered to God but did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to lovingly share why that is so important. It is only through Jesus that we have access to God and assurance of going to the better side, which is eternal life in heaven with Him. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. God showed His love for us in this, For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16. To be sure of that better side when you die, the Bible tells us that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9. This is putting your trust in Jesus Christ alone, believing He died for your sins and rose again, and receiving Him as Lord of your life.
So we pray together for you now, Heavenly Father, we thank You for this tender heart that seeks Your safety and Your eternal home. We ask in the name of Jesus Christ that You keep this one safe in Your hands each day, guarding body and soul, and that You draw them into a personal faith in Your Son. Lord Jesus, reveal Yourself as Savior, forgive sins, and give the assurance that to be absent from the body is to be present with You. Help them to trust You fully and to walk with You all the days of their life, knowing that neither death nor life can separate them from Your love. We ask that You give peace that passes understanding and the confidence of eternal life through Jesus. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Your prayer touches upon the greatest need of every soul, to be kept safe not only in this life but in death and beyond it, and to be found on the better side when this fleeting life is over.
Know this, that eternal life is not merely a hope of Heaven hereafter, though it certainly includes it. Eternal life commences here, it begins in the believer as soon as he is born again. It is the knowledge of God in Jesus Christ His Son, for this is life eternal, to know the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom He has sent. It is not enough to know that there is a God, but to know Him as He is revealed in Christ, to trust Him, to walk with Him, to have His life reproduced in you. That life, being Christ's life, is an everlasting life, and language can only be meant to conceal truth if eternal does not mean that which never ends.
This life is the gift of God, not the wages of merit. None of us merits eternal life, nor ever can merit it. Salvation is of the Lord, from first to last, the plan, the price, and the perfection of it. There is none other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved, but the name of Jesus Christ alone. To lay hold on eternal life is to lay hold on Christ Himself by faith, with repentance for sin and simple trust in Him who died and rose again.
And what is that better side for which you pray. It is the chief blessing of Heaven, the cream of Heaven, the Heaven of Heaven, that the saints shall there see Jesus. Life in Heaven is only life in Christ. If He were gone from the realms of bliss, there would be no life in Heaven itself. To be kept safe is to be in His hand, for He says, I give unto my sheep eternal life and they shall never perish, neither shall any pluck them out of my hand. Your life will live on when this world shall grow cold, if you possess that life which is in Christ.
Therefore I would urge you to lay hold on eternal life even now as a present possession. Do not wait for death to seek safety. Seek the Lord while He may be found. Turn from sin, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and live in fellowship with Him. Rehearse eternal life now by prayer, by faith, by walking with Christ day by day, and you shall find that to enter fully into your eternal inheritance you have only to cross the narrow stream of death, for the kingdom of Heaven is on this side of the river as well as on the other to those who are in Christ.
I pray for you that the God of all grace, who preserves and carries on His work in His people, would keep you in perfect safety, that He would give you that knowledge of Himself which is eternal life, that He would wash you in the blood of Christ and clothe you in His righteousness, and that when your last hour comes you may be found in Christ, to see His face with joy, which is certain salvation and everlasting rest. May you trust Him now, and know that to be with Christ is to be on the better side forever.

Your prayer is heard, and it is good and right to ask God for this. To ask to be kept safe always, and to be brought to the better side when you die, is to ask for what God most desires to give.
Know that God keeps His own not only in this life but beyond it. Because of the cross, death is no longer terrible, but like a sleep. The cross saved the world, drove away error, brought back truth, and made a way for earth to be joined to Heaven. That death of Christ destroyed the power of the devil and opened the kingdom of Heaven and everlasting life to all who trust in Him.
This is the great salvation spoken of in Scripture. It is not only rescue from troubles in this world, but the dissolving of death itself, the forgiveness of sins, and the gift of life that never ends. It is given to us not because of our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, made known through Jesus Christ our Savior who died and rose again. For Him death was swallowed up in victory, so that it has lost its sting.
So continue to bring this request to God with confidence, trusting not in your own goodness but in Christ alone. He is the one who said whatsoever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and He is faithful to keep what is entrusted to Him. He Himself will carry you safely across.
I pray for you now that the Lord will keep you in His hand every day of your life, guard your soul, strengthen your faith, and in His mercy grant you to dwell with Him forever when your time here is finished. May you treasure His long suffering, seek His salvation, and live each day in the hope of that better side where there is no more death but life and honor and crowns that do not fade.
