Beloved of All
Dear God, please keep me safe, always, even when I die. Dear God, when I die, please let me go over to the better side. Amen.

We join you in this sincere and simple cry of the heart for safety both now and for eternity, and we bring it before the Father together in Jesus' name.

We hear your longing to be kept safe always, even through death, and to be on the better side when this life ends. The Lord delights in that desire, for He is our refuge and keeper. Scripture says, Yahweh will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul. Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forever more. Psalm 121:7-8. And again, He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. Psalm 91:1. Even when we walk through the valley of the shadow of death, we need not fear, for He is with us.

That better side you speak of is what the Bible calls eternal life in the presence of God, and we want to lovingly share how we are kept safe not only in this life but after we die. We noticed your prayer did not mention the name of Jesus, and we gently point this out because it is only through Jesus that we have access to God and assurance of that better side. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12.

God has made the way for us to be safe forever because He loves us so much. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only born Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16. That promise becomes ours when we put our faith in Jesus, that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9. When we belong to Jesus, He gives us this assurance, I give eternal life to them. They will never perish. No one will snatch them out of my hand. John 10:28. To be absent from the body is to be at home with the Lord for those who are in Christ.

So we pray together for you now.

Father, we lift up this precious soul to You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We ask that You keep them safe in Your hands today and all the days of their life. Cover them with Your peace and protection, and guard their heart and soul from all evil. We pray that they would come to know Jesus as Lord and Savior, to confess Him with their mouth and believe in their heart that You raised Him from the dead, so that they would have the assurance of eternal life. When the day comes to leave this body, receive them into Your presence on that better side, into everlasting joy with You, because their trust is in the shed blood and resurrection of Jesus. Lead them to walk closely with You now, to read Your word and to grow in faith, knowing that You are their shepherd and keeper forever. We ask this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus, amen.

We encourage you to place your complete trust in Jesus for that eternal safety. He is faithful to keep all who come to Him, and He will never leave you nor forsake you, in life or in death.

Thank you for letting us hear this prayer. We can hear how much you want to be safe and held, not just today but beyond this life, and to be on the better side when your time comes. That is a deeply human longing and God welcomes you bringing it to Him just as simply as you did.

We want you to know we are holding that request with you. You don't have to have perfect words. God hears the honest heart that turns to Him.

If thoughts about dying and what comes after feel heavy at times, it can help to not carry them alone. If you have a trusted pastor or a mature Christian friend, consider sharing this prayer with them and talking more about what it means to be safe in God's care both now and forever. Having someone to listen and walk with you can bring a lot of peace alongside prayer.

Father, we bring our friend before You. Thank You for hearing this simple, sincere prayer. We ask You to give a steady sense of Your nearness and keeping, today and in the days ahead, and to lead this friend into the full safety and wholeness You provide through Jesus. Give comfort when fear rises and guide each step. In Jesus' name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer has come before the Lord and before His people, and it touches the very heart of what the gospel offers. You have asked to be kept safe always, even in death, and to be found on the better side when this life is over. This is no small request, for it concerns that eternal life of which Scripture speaks.

Many suppose that eternal life means only heaven hereafter, but the Word teaches us that eternal life commences here, it begins in the believer as soon as he is born again. Then he receives into him that same life which he will have throughout eternity. It is not a thing of changes, but the same life which expands and develops itself in heaven. Our Lord says, I give unto them eternal life, and this shows that we had lost eternal life by our fall in Adam and by our own actual sin, and that He restores it. It is a gift too high for the fingers of human merit to hope to reach. Mere mortal life is a gift of divine mercy, and as for this eternal life, none of us merits it or ever can merit it.

And in what does this eternal life consist. Our Lord has told us plainly, This is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. No man really knows God who does not know Him as God, and does not accept Him as his God, and to accept God as your God in Christ is eternal life. To know the only true God is to get where life is life, not mere existence, but that which is worthy to be called life indeed. Existence may be a curse, but life in Christ is a blessing.

This life begins here, and being Christ's life, it is an everlasting life. How can that be eternal which comes to an end. Eternal life means a life that never ends. He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life, it is your possession now as the quickened ones of the Holy Spirit. The life which has led you to seek mercy, to desire safety in death, to look for the better side, that life which causes you to believe in Jesus, this is the life which will go to heaven.

The better side for which you pray is not merely a place of safety, but a place where the saints shall see Jesus. It is the chief blessing of heaven, the cream of heaven, that the saints shall there see Him who loved them and gave Himself for them. To be kept safe even when you die is to be kept in His hand, for He has said none shall pluck them out of His hand.

Therefore lay hold on eternal life by simple faith in the Person of Christ. Faith must be urged upon you, for without it there is no salvation. It is not believing about Him only, but believing on Him. Leave the whole matter of your present and eternal salvation with Him in unquestioning confidence. Depend upon Him without fear. No measure of sin in your past life can deprive you of this promise if you trust Him now.

We pray for you that the Lord will keep you in perfect safety, that He will give you even now to know the only true God and Jesus Christ whom He has sent, that you may have within you the divine life which is the same life which is to enjoy eternal immortality, and that when your last hour comes you may pass not into darkness but into His presence, to hunger no more, to thirst no more, and to be led by the Lamb to fountains of waters of life. May you rehearse that heavenly life even now by confident expectancy and fellowship with Christ, and find that to live upon Him is heaven below and the pledge of heaven above.

Your prayer for safety now and in death touches the very heart of what God has done for us. It is good to bring this fear and this hope directly to Him, for He hears and He keeps those who trust in Him.

The cross has saved and converted the world. It drove away error and brought back truth, and it made a way for earth to become Heaven and for men to be fashioned for Heaven. Because of the cross, the powers of evil are no longer terrible but contemptible, and death is no longer death but a sleep for those who are in Christ.

Scripture speaks of so great a salvation. God does not only rescue us from troubles in this life, but He has provided the dissolution of death, the destruction of the devil, the kingdom of Heaven and everlasting life. That is the better side for which you pray, and it is found only through Jesus Christ. He alone is the way. He has opened a new and living way where before there was only a way of death leading to darkness, and now the gates of Heaven have been opened for all who come to God through Him.

For this reason we are taught not to fear those who can harm the body but cannot harm the soul, but to live in reverent fear and love toward God who holds both soul and body in His hands. To be safe always, even when we die, is to be safe in Christ. To go over to the better side is to be with Him.

So embrace this salvation with your whole heart. Turn to Christ in faith, trust His death and resurrection for the forgiveness of your sins, and walk with Him daily. Do not treasure up fear or wrath, but treasure up salvation and life, and seek the honor and crown He gives.

We are praying for you, that God will keep you in His perfect care in this life, that He will give you full assurance of hope through Jesus, and that when your earthly life ends you will awake with Him in His kingdom, where there is joy and peace forever. May the Lord who pierces the heart and plants His truth deep within you grant you that boldness to draw near to Him now and to stand with joy before Him then. Amen.

Your prayer shows a deep and honest longing that every heart knows, to be safe not just now but when life ends, and to be on the better side when you step out of this life. God hears that longing and He has answered it in Jesus Christ.

The Bible teaches that for the child of God death is not a place of terror. It is a valley we walk through, but we do not walk through it alone. The Lord Himself is with us, and His presence takes away fear. He is our light and our salvation and the strength of our lives, so we do not need to be afraid. In times of trouble He keeps us close to Himself, even as a shelter in a storm.

The reason we can have this confidence is what Jesus did. The sting of death is sin, and sin gave death its power over us. Jesus took on our humanity, humbled Himself and became obedient even to death on the cross. He tasted death for every person and for everyone who trusts in Him He has taken away the sin that made death so fearful. Through His death He broke the power of the one who held the power of death, the devil, and He sets free those who were held in bondage all their lives by the fear of death. That is why Scripture can say, O death where is your sting, O grave where is your victory, thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

That victory is not earned by our own goodness. Salvation is a gift of God by grace through faith in Jesus, not by works. No one, no matter what they have done, is beyond His forgiveness when they turn to Him and trust Him as Lord and Savior. When we receive that cup of salvation and call upon His name, we are cleansed and made righteous before God. Then there is no more condemnation, no judgment to fear, because Jesus bore it for us. That is why the death of those who belong to Him is precious in His sight. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.

The better side you prayed for is being with Him forever, safe in His arms. If you have not already done so, put your trust fully in Jesus Christ alone for your salvation. Tell Him you need His forgiveness and you want Him to be your Lord. Then you can know with full assurance that He will lead you through this life and through the valley itself, and that you will be kept safe always, even beyond death, because He will never leave you.

May the Lord give you peace today as you rest in His light and His strength, and may you know the comfort of His presence and the certainty of His victory over death through Jesus.
