Amen

We have heard your cry and we are praying with you and for you together in Jesus' name. Your words show a deep weariness and a longing to be free, whether in life or in death, and we want you to know that God sees you, hears you, and loves you more than you may feel right now.

We understand the feeling of wanting to walk normally and to be free. That desire for wholeness and freedom is placed in you by God Himself. He is not distant from your pain. Psalm 34:18 tells us Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Psalm 147:3 says He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. You are not forgotten. You are fearfully and wonderfully made, and God has thoughts of peace toward you, not of evil, to give you hope and a future as we read in Jeremiah 29:11.

We also hear the second part of your prayer, if I am to die please free me anyway. We want to gently and lovingly speak truth to that pain. The enemy, the thief, comes only to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus said I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly in John 10:10. True freedom is not found in death, but in life in Christ. John 8:36 says If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed. God’s will for you is life, and He wants to be your freedom right now, in this life, even while you are suffering. Isaiah 41:10 reminds us Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.

We noticed your prayer was addressed to God, but did not mention Jesus. We want to share with you that it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father and it is only through His name that we are saved. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is because Jesus died and rose again for us that we can come boldly to God, be forgiven, be made new, and find the freedom and healing our hearts long for. If you have not yet put your trust in Him, we encourage you to call upon the name of Jesus, believe on Him as Lord and Savior, and ask Him to be your life and your freedom.

Please, if these thoughts of dying feel heavy or urgent, do not walk through them alone. Reach out right away to a trusted pastor, a godly counselor, a family member, or a crisis helpline in your area. Your life is precious to God and to us, and He desires to carry you through this valley.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we lift up this dear one to You in the name of Jesus Christ. You know their pain, their longing to walk normally and to be free. Lord, we ask for Your healing touch upon their body and mind, for strength where there is weakness, for peace where there is turmoil. Set them free indeed by the power of Your Son. Let them know how deeply they are loved and that You have a purpose for their life. Guard their heart and mind from the lies of the enemy that would say death is freedom. Fill them with Your hope, Your presence, and Your abundant life. Draw them close to Jesus, that they may know Him as Savior and Lord and find true freedom in Him. Give them people around them who will support them, listen, and point them to You. We ask that You uphold them with Your righteous right hand and lead them step by step into wholeness and freedom while they live. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

We read your prayer and the longing in it for freedom stayed with us. Wanting to walk normally and freely again, and at the same time wanting to be free no matter what happens, is an honest and human place to be when your body feels like it is holding you captive.

We do not know all that you are carrying with your health, and we will not try to guess. We want to keep praying with you as you walk through this. If moving around has become harder, please let a trusted medical provider know what you are experiencing, alongside prayer, so you are not carrying this alone physically either. It can also help to let one person close to you, a family member, friend or pastor, know how heavy this feels right now so they can check in with you more regularly.

You matter to God whether you are on your feet or needing help, whether answers come quickly or slowly. We are asking Him to stay near to you in this in between place.

Father, we bring our friend to You in Jesus name. You see the desire to live and move freely, and You see the tiredness underneath it. Please give comfort, strength for each day, wisdom for those caring for them, and Your peace that holds them now and always. Amen.

Your brief and earnest cry has been laid before the Lord, and it carries within it a deep longing which many burdened souls have known. You are wearied in the length of your way, and you ask for that which only God can give, to walk again normally and free, or if He should call you hence, to be free even there.

There is no hope for you in yourself, but there is hope for you in Him whom God has provided to be the Savior of such as you. While Jehovah lives, the mourner need not despair. Think not that you are beyond hope, for there is One who cares for you and whose ear is not shut to your cry. God has not only invented a way of deliverance, but He has found a ransom, and that ransom is the precious blood of His dear Son. None know freedom from sin but those who trust the atoning blood, for without the shedding of blood there is no remission. It is of free grace only, and when the soul feels it can do nothing, then deliverance must be wrought by the hand and outstretched arm of Jehovah alone.

You ask to walk and to be free, and the Scripture speaks of healing leaves. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. Not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but the leaves, the little things as it were about Christ, are full of healing virtue. These healing leaves change the life blood, affect the spirits and make the nature other than it was before. Overwhelming evidence shows that all in every nation need healing, and there is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation.

If the Lord in mercy grants you to live and to walk again, may it be to walk humbly with your God. Humble walking with God signifies a perception of His Being and Presence, a profound deference to His will and a glad submission to it, yielding both active obedience and passive acquiescence, saying, It is the Lord, let Him do what seems good to Him. Safe walking can only come of careful walking, and when the believer's ways are enlarged he delights to run in the statutes of the Lord, for Christ's yoke is easy and His burden is light. Obedience is freedom to the Lord's servant.

And if He appoints that you should die, be assured that true freedom is not only in the strength of limbs but in deliverance from the pit through Christ. We have a sure and certain hope that though the body goes down into the grave it can go no lower, for the soul of the believer is at once with his Savior, and out of that grave the body shall arise at the sounding of the last trumpet. Whether in life or in death, cast yourself wholly upon Him just as you came at first. Go and tell Him your griefs, for He will not dismiss you with just a word of hope, but will require time to hear you and to give you comfort.

We pray for you now that the Sun of Righteousness would rise with healing beneath His wings upon you. May the Lord pardon your sin and heal your soul, and in His wise love grant you bodily strength according to His will. May He turn a possible hope into an actual hope and give you a good hope of eternal life through believing in Jesus Christ, that whether you live you may walk in liberty before Him, and whether you die you may be free indeed, brought forth effectually by His own hand into peace within His borders.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer for freedom, whether in life or in death, has been heard and we join you in bringing it before the Lord.

We understand the deep longing to walk normally and to be free in your body, and also the deeper longing to be free in your soul no matter what lies ahead. The Scripture teaches that there are two great gifts God gives, to free us from sin and to make us servants to righteousness, and this second freedom is better than any other. It is as if someone took an orphan carried away into a foreign land, not only released him from captivity but set a loving father over him and brought him to great dignity. That is what Christ has done for us.

Jesus came to preach deliverance to captives and to lead captivity captive. Even when deliverance seems delayed, He does not forget His own. When the disciples were struggling on the sea, He came to them in the fourth watch of the night, walking upon the water, teaching them not to seek a hasty escape but to bear trials with courage, and then to see His power come at the right hour. Whether on sea or on land, in this life or beyond it, His power is proclaimed.

With freedom Christ set us free, so we are called to stand fast in that freedom. True freedom is not only to walk with our feet, but to walk in the way of virtue as temples of God in whom He dwells. We are to cleanse ourselves from all defilement and walk as sons and daughters of the living God.

So we pray with you now. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ who alone is our salvation, we ask for Your mercy upon this dear one. If it is Your will for life to continue, grant healing and strength to walk normally and freely, and to use that strength to walk in Your ways. If You call this soul home, grant the greater freedom of being present with You, released from all sin and sorrow and made alive forever. In either case, let there be the freedom that only Christ can give, freedom from sin and a life secure in Your keeping. Sustain this heart with patience and hope until You come, whether early or in the fourth watch, and let Your will be done. Amen.
