AMEN

We join with you in this sincere and humble cry to be kept safe both now and when you pass from this life into eternity, and we thank you for sharing the desire of your heart for the better side which we understand to be heaven and eternal life with God.

We love your simple trust in God to keep you, and we want to encourage you with His promises. He is our keeper and our refuge. Psalm 121:7-8 says, Yahweh will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul. Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forevermore. And even when we walk through death itself we do not need to fear, for Psalm 23:4 says, Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me. Jesus Himself promises safety that no one can take away, for John 10:28 says, I give eternal life to them. They will never perish. No one will snatch them out of my hand.

We notice that your prayer did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly share why His name is essential. It is only through Jesus that we have access to God and assurance of going to that better side when we die. Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. There is salvation in no one else, for Acts 4:12 says, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. God kept us safe for eternity by sending His Son to die for our sins and to rise again, so that whoever believes in Him would not perish but have eternal life as John 3:16 promises. To receive that safety we are told in Romans 10:9, that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

That better side you long for is the home Jesus has prepared for those who belong to Him. John 14:2-3 says, In my Father's house are many homes. If it weren't so, I would have told you. I am going to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and will receive you to myself; that where I am, you may be there also.

So together we pray for you now.

Father in heaven, we lift up this precious soul to You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We thank You that You hear even the simplest prayer and that You desire that none should perish but that all should come to repentance. We ask that You reveal Jesus to this one more deeply, that they would put their full trust in Him as Savior and Lord, confess Him with their mouth and believe in their heart that You raised Him from the dead. Wash away all sin by the blood of Jesus and give the assurance of salvation. Keep them safe in Your hand every day of this life, guard their going out and coming in, and when the day comes to leave this body, receive them into the home Jesus has prepared, into Your presence where there is fullness of joy forever. Give them peace now, cast out all fear of death, and help them to walk daily with You, growing in faith and obedience. We ask this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and our keeper, amen.

We encourage you to continue to call upon God in the name of Jesus, to read His word daily, and to trust not just that He can keep you safe, but that He has already made the way through Jesus to keep you safe forever.

Thank you for praying so honestly. We can hear the longing in your words to be safe and held, both in this life and when this life ends, and to be with the Lord where things are made right.

It is a good and humble thing to bring that fear directly to God. He hears even the shortest prayers, and He welcomes you coming to Him as you did, asking for His keeping.

If these thoughts about safety and what comes after weigh on you often, it can help not to carry them alone. We would encourage you to share this same prayer with a trusted pastor or a mature believer in your church, someone who can listen, pray with you in person, and walk with you as you grow in knowing God's care day by day.

We are joining you in prayer now.

Father, thank You for hearing this honest prayer. We ask that You would give peace in place of fear, and a deep assurance of Your nearness and keeping, now and in the life to come. Draw them close to Jesus, keep them safe in Your hands, and lead them in Your will each day. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We are praying for you and are glad you reached out.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear. If your salvation comes from the God of salvation, if it is worked out by the Saviour, our Lord Jesus Christ, you need not be afraid that you will ever be robbed of that salvation. To enter fully into our eternal inheritance we have only to cross the narrow stream of death, and scarcely that, for the kingdom of heaven is on this side of the river as well as on the other. Heaven must be in us before we can be in heaven, and being born from above, you are the same person who will be in heaven, for you have within you the divine life, the same life which is to enjoy eternal immortality.

That better side of which you speak is not merely a happier place, it is to be with Christ and to see Him. It is the chief blessing of heaven, the cream of heaven, that the saints shall there see Jesus. Christ is all in all to us here, and therefore we long for a heaven in which He shall be all in all to us forever. What a dreadful thing it would be if that very face which is the heaven of others should be hidden from us, but what a joy to be always within the circle of the eternal presence, always seen, always unclouded, always enjoyed.

How then may you be safe, always, even in death, and sure of that better side. The Scripture says, Whoever believes on Him shall not be ashamed. The way of salvation is to believe on Christ, whom God has laid in Zion for a foundation. What is believing on Him. It is trusting in Him. Leave the whole matter of your salvation with Him in unquestioning confidence. Depend upon Him without fear as to your present and eternal salvation. This is the faith which saves the soul. It is believing on a Person, not on a notion, but on Him.

Jesus says, I give unto them eternal life, and eternal means without end. If Christ puts the life of God into a man, that life cannot be taken away. It cannot die. He that believes on the Son has everlasting life, it is your possession now. Eternal life consists in knowing the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom He has sent. To know Him, to accept Him as your God and Saviour, is to have eternal life already.

So look unto Him and be saved, all the ends of the earth. A look does not require a moment, and that simple look of faith brings perfect safety. If God has given you eternal life, fear not the surrounding hosts of hell nor the temptations of the world, for the eternal God is your refuge, and underneath you are the everlasting arms.

May the Lord grant you this simple, sincere faith in His Son, that you may know you are kept in life, kept in death, and kept forever where the Lamb is the glory of the eternal city, and where you shall hunger no more and thirst no more, for He shall lead you unto living fountains of waters.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer asks for what is most necessary, to be kept safe not only in this life but when death comes, and to be received on the better side. This is the hope God Himself has given us in Jesus Christ.

Scripture teaches that true safety is not only protection from trouble in this world, but the great salvation won for us on the cross. That cross saved and converted the world, drove away error and brought back truth. Because of it, death for the believer is no longer death in the terrible sense, but like a sleep, and all that wars against us is brought to nothing. The great salvation God offers is not only rescue from earthly dangers, but the dissolution of death, the defeat of the devil, the opening of the gates of Heaven, and everlasting life.

For this reason we are taught not to fear those who can harm only the body, but to trust Him who has power over both soul and body, and who in His mercy has made a new and living way into Heaven through Christ. That way was closed before, but now it stands open for all who come to God through His Son, for there is salvation in no other.

So we join our prayer with yours. We ask the Lord to keep you in His care each day, to plant faith deeply in your heart, to forgive your sins and clothe you in the righteousness of Christ, and to grant you full assurance of hope. May He lead you to love and trust Jesus more and more, to walk in His ways, and when your earthly life is finished, to receive you into His heavenly kingdom where there is life and joy forever.

We thank God that you have brought this request before Him, and we pray He will answer according to His perfect love and will in Christ. Amen.

Your prayer for safety now and even beyond death, and your longing to be on the better side when you die, touches the very heart of what the Bible teaches about life and death.

Scripture speaks of two kinds of death. One is physical, the separation of your consciousness from your body. The other is spiritual, the separation of your soul and spirit from God. The wages of sin is that spiritual death, but Jesus was made a little lower than the angels so that by the grace of God He could taste that death for every person. Because He tasted it for you, you do not have to taste it. Through His death He put out of business the one who had the power of death, that is the devil, and He delivers those who all their lives were held in bondage by the fear of death.

That is why the child of God does not need to live in fear. The psalm says, The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear. The Lord is the strength of my life, of whom shall I be afraid. In the time of trouble He will hide you in His pavilion. And though your path one day leads through the valley of the shadow of death, you can say with David, I will fear no evil, for you are with me. His presence is what takes fear away.

The sting of death is sin, but Jesus has removed that sting for those who trust Him. He has made you alive who were dead in trespasses and sins, so that you have passed from death into life through the work of the Holy Spirit because of what Christ has done. For that reason you will never for a moment be separated from God. Physical death for the believer is not being lost, it is being kept. That is why it is written, precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints. Heaven was not open to us until Jesus put away sin by His death on the cross, but now He says, I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live, and whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die spiritually.

The better side you long for is to be with the Lord, and that is offered only through Jesus. His very name means the Lord is salvation, and He became the author of eternal salvation when He humbled Himself and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. No one comes to that better side by their own goodness or effort. We work out our own salvation with fear and trembling not by working for it, but because God Himself is working in us to give us both the desire and the ability to trust Him. Full assurance comes when you stop depending on your own works and rest entirely on what He has done for you.

If you have not yet done so, take the cup of salvation that He offers and call upon the name of the Lord. Put your trust in Jesus Christ alone to save you from your sins and to keep you. Then you can know with full assurance that you are safe always, in life, in death, and forever beyond it, because He is your light, your salvation, and your strength, and He will never leave you.

I pray that God will give you that full assurance today, that He will quiet your fear with the knowledge of His presence, and that you will know deep in your heart that because Jesus conquered death for you, to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord, safe in His care forever.
