Your love and care for your mother in her old age is precious in the sight of God. Scripture commands us to honor father and mother, and that honor includes caring for them when they can no longer care for themselves, just as they once cared for us. Your burden for her shows that honor in action.

You are right to bring her to Jesus for healing. The Bible tells us that He bore our sicknesses and infirmities and that He has power over every disease. I believe that healing is still for today and that God is able. At the same time, the Gospels show us that Jesus did not heal in only one way. Sometimes He healed instantly with a word or a touch, sometimes healing came gradually, and sometimes He worked through the natural processes of healing that He Himself built into our bodies. Any true healing is from Him, whether it comes in a moment or step by step, and we do not always understand why He works differently in different lives. What we can know is that He loves your mother, He sees her need, and He hears your prayers for her memory, for her orientation to time and place, and for her body as it struggles with diabetes.

There was a mother in the Gospels who was desperate for her child who was suffering greatly, and she would not stop coming to Jesus until she received help. Her faith triumphed because she kept bringing her need to Him. I encourage you to do the same. Keep coming to Him on your mother's behalf, bringing her needs to Him in simple, persistent faith, trusting His wisdom and His compassion to do what is best.

Father, in the name of Jesus we lift this dear mother to You. You know her by name, You know the confusion in her mind and the weakness in her body. We ask for Your merciful touch upon her. We ask for healing for her mind and restoration of her memory and her ability to know time and place, and for healing and balance in her body from diabetes. We ask that You would give her peace, and give her family strength and wisdom as they care for her and honor her in these days. We trust her into Your loving hands, knowing that You are able and that You love her more than we do. Let Your will be done in her life, and let Your comfort and presence be near to her and to those who love her. Amen.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf for your dear mother and her healing. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer for her deliverance from Alzheimer and diabetes and we have continued to lift her up before the Lord.

We have been praying for healing for her memory and for restoration of her orientation in time and space and for the Lord to touch her body and bring balance and healing from diabetes. We ask God to bring comfort and peace to her mind and strength to her body and to give you and your family His grace and encouragement as you care for her. We cling to the promise in Jeremiah 30:17 and in Psalm 103:3 that He is our healer.
