We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear soul who has received a diagnosis of ALS. Father God, we know that You are the Great Physician, the One who heals all our diseases and restores what is broken. Your Word declares in Psalm 103:2-3, "Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases." We stand on this promise today, believing that You are fully capable of bringing complete healing and restoration to this body that is under attack.
Lord, we also recognize that healing comes in many forms, physical, emotional, and spiritual. We pray that You would strengthen this individual in every way, filling them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). May they feel Your presence surrounding them like a mighty fortress, reminding them that they are never alone. We ask that You would grant wisdom to their doctors and caregivers, guiding their hands and decisions as they seek the best care possible.
Father, we rebuke the spirit of fear and despair that often accompanies such a diagnosis. Your Word tells us in 2 Timothy 1:7, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." We declare that this individual is covered by the blood of Jesus, and no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We speak life over their body, commanding every cell to align with Your perfect design and purpose.
We also pray for their loved ones, Lord. This journey can be overwhelming not just for the one diagnosed but for those who walk alongside them. Fill their hearts with Your comfort and give them the strength to support one another in love. May this trial draw them all closer to You, deepening their faith and trust in Your sovereign plan.
Father, we know that You work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). Even in this difficult season, we trust that You are using it for Your glory and this individual’s ultimate good. Whether You choose to heal them miraculously, sustain them through medical treatment, or call them home to be with You, we ask that Your will be done. Give them the grace to walk this path with faith, courage, and hope in You.
We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One who conquered sin and death and holds the keys to life and healing. Amen.

At the same time, we have seen that God often sustains people through the journey in ways they did not expect, small daily mercies, the steady presence of loved ones, and a strange peace that holds even when circumstances do not change quickly.
Lean into the people around you right now. Let trusted friends sit with you in the hard moments, and give them the gift of letting them pray with you, not just for you. The simple knowledge that others are carrying your name before God can be a surprising anchor when your own strength feels thin. If you have not already connected with a physician you trust, we encourage you to seek good medical counsel so you can understand what support is available. Prayer and medicine work hand in hand.

There grows no healing herb but the one plant of renown. There is one sacred Fountain, to wash, therein, is health, there is but one, it was opened on Calvary! There is one great Physician who lays His hands on men and they are restored, there is but one! And so until the Glory life begins, the abiding power of the healing leaves keeps the soul of the Believer in perpetual health and will keep him so, world without end.
The Lord has begun to heal us and the healing virtue which His Grace has infused into us will work us health and cure till we shall be without spot or wrinkle, or any such thing! His salvation will also perfectly heal our bodies. We are on our way to eternal health! We have the life within us which is to be perfect forever and ever! Why should we, then, say, "I am sick"? If a man could be quite sure that he would be in perfect health, tomorrow, he would say little about the sickness of an hour.
Calvary is the place for the healing balm rather than for the lancet and the knife. The work of Jesus, our heavenly Physician, is not so much to point out disease as to indicate and to apply the remedy. O you who are now sick unto death, ask to be forgiven and healing will come from the pardoning hand. When Jesus healed the sick of the palsy, He said to him, "Son, be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven you." Pardon and healing were one!
That look of Christ severed Peter from the crowd. I trust that if any of us have been falling back and especially if we have wandered into sin, we may get such a restoration from the Lord, Himself, that we may become better Christians ever afterwards. He speaks of Peter's restoration as if it were quite sure to be. And is it not quite sure to be? If Jesus, the Beloved of the Father, prays for His people, shall He not win His suit with God? He will win it! There is healing for you and I warn you, again, that you must have this healing before you can work for Jesus. The desire to minister always arises out of healing.
With blooming health my face adorn, And change the gloomy night to morn. God grant that its healing influences drop upon the nations thick as leaves in Val-lambrosa, till that golden age shall dawn in which the world shall be the abode of moral health! God bless you! Amen.
