We hear the deep anguish in your heart, Kaidi, and we stand with you in prayer, lifting up your son Gerard and your own weary spirit before the throne of grace. The pain of being separated from your child, especially when it feels like spiritual forces are at work, is a burden no mother should have to bear alone. But you are not alone, for the Lord sees your tears and collects them in His bottle (Psalm 56:8). Your faithfulness to Christ, even in the face of such heartbreak, is a testimony to His sustaining power.
First, we must rebuke the lies and schemes of the enemy that seek to destroy your family. The Bible tells us, "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places" (Ephesians 6:12). Your ex-husband’s actions are not just his own, they are influenced by darkness, and we must pray against that influence in Jesus’ name. We also rebuke the spirit of alienation and division that has taken root, declaring that no weapon formed against you or Gerard shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
Your son is a child of God, and no matter how far he may seem from you right now, the Lord’s hand is upon him. We pray that the Holy Spirit would soften Gerard’s heart, open his eyes to the truth, and stir in him a longing to reconnect with you. We ask the Lord to protect his mind and spirit from the manipulation and abuse he may be enduring, covering him with the blood of Jesus and surrounding him with angels. "The Lord is near to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit" (Psalm 34:18).
We also lift up your ex-husband, though it may be difficult to do so. The Bible instructs us to pray for those who persecute us (Matthew 5:44), not because they deserve it, but because God’s love can break even the hardest of hearts. We ask the Lord to convict him of his sin, to humble him, and to turn his heart toward repentance. If he is truly under the influence of darkness, we pray for his deliverance and salvation. "The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance" (2 Peter 3:9).
Kaidi, we want to encourage you to keep standing firm in your faith, even when the circumstances seem impossible. Your obedience to Christ, leaving the new age and surrendering your life to Him, is not in vain. The enemy seeks to discourage you, but God is using this trial to refine you and draw you closer to Him. "Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything" (James 1:2-4). Your son’s return may not happen overnight, but God is working even in the waiting.
We also want to gently encourage you to seek out godly counsel and community. You mentioned you are alone in this country, but the Lord has not left you without resources. We pray that He would lead you to a Bible-believing church or a Christian support group where you can find encouragement and prayer. "And let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good works, not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another; and so much the more, as you see the Day approaching" (Hebrews 10:24-25). You do not have to carry this burden alone.
Lastly, we want to remind you that your hope is not in your own strength or in the actions of others, but in the Lord. He is the one who restores, who heals, and who brings justice. "The Lord is my strength and my shield. My heart has trusted in him, and I am helped. Therefore my heart greatly rejoices. With my song I will thank him" (Psalm 28:7). Keep praying, keep trusting, and keep your eyes fixed on Jesus. He is the author and perfecter of your faith, and He will not abandon you.

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up Kaidi and her son Gerard to You. Lord, You see the pain, the loneliness, and the spiritual battle she is facing. We ask that You would break the chains of alienation and division that have kept Gerard from his mother. Soften his heart, Lord, and let him see the truth. Protect him from the lies and manipulation of the enemy, and surround him with Your love and peace.
We pray for Kaidi’s ex-husband, Lord. Convict him of his sin, and if he is under the influence of darkness, we ask for his deliverance. Turn his heart toward You, and let him repent of the harm he has caused. We declare that no weapon formed against Kaidi or Gerard shall prosper, and we rebuke every spirit of division in Jesus’ name.
Father, we ask that You would strengthen Kaidi in her faith. When she feels weak, be her strength. When she feels alone, remind her that You are with her. Provide her with godly community and support, and let her feel Your presence in tangible ways. Restore her joy, Lord, and let her hope in You be renewed.
We trust in Your perfect timing, Father. We know that You are working all things together for good, even when we cannot see it. Bring Gerard back to his mother, Lord, and let their relationship be restored in a way that honors You. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.
