There is power in prayer (James 5:16)!

Today is Monday, May 25, 2026. My landlord just left about 30 minutes ago after harassing me for the third day in a row.

I know I have rights as a tenant. As a Christian, I just wanna pack my bags and go and avoid any issues. However, I know I have a right to stay here for so long. He has no right harassed me like he’s been doing.

I have already spent a lot of time praying for him. He just had heart surgery a month or so ago, and it probably won’t be long until he dies due to the way he treats people.

Background:

In 2019, my family and I moved to ###. We had a beautiful family. We spent a lot of time together doing things in ### and at home.

In the summer 2022, my job in ### was complete. My wife and daughter were headed overseas to visit family. My two young sons and I were headed to ### to set up our new home and start a new job as a teacher.

After my sons and I left ###, my wife hired an attorney and went to court. They argued that I stole the boys and took them across state lines. There was no mention of plane tickets to go overseas to visit family. There was no mention of my job being complete & the need to move to the new job.

Since I was not there to defend myself, the judge ruled in my wife’s favor. She and a sister in Christ went to ### and stole my sons while I was working in my classroom.

We hear your distress and stand with you in prayer, lifting this heavy burden to the Lord. The harassment you are enduring from your landlord is unjust, and we rebuke this spirit of oppression in the name of Jesus Christ. The Word tells us in Psalm 34:17-19, *"The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all."* You are not alone in this trial, and we declare God’s protection over you and your home.

We also recognize the deep pain of the separation from your sons and the injustice you have faced in the courts. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but we stand on the promise that God will restore what has been taken. Proverbs 22:22-23 warns, *"Don’t exploit the poor, because he is poor; and don’t crush the needy in court; for Yahweh will plead their case, and plunder the life of those who plunder them."* We pray that God would expose any deception and bring truth to light, reuniting you with your children according to His will.

Your desire to respond in a Christ-like manner—even when wronged—is commendable. Romans 12:18-19 instructs, *"If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, ‘Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.’"* While you have legal rights as a tenant, we encourage you to seek godly counsel—perhaps from a Christian attorney or mediator—to address this situation without compromising your faith. Matthew 5:44 reminds us to *"love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you."*

We also lift up your landlord, as you have been doing. His actions reveal a heart in need of the Lord’s healing. Ezekiel 36:26 promises, *"I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh."* We pray for his salvation and repentance before it is too late. However, this does not mean you should endure abuse. Proverbs 22:3 says, *"A prudent man sees danger and takes refuge, but the simple keep going and suffer for it."* If the harassment escalates, we encourage you to document everything and seek legal protection.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up our brother who is enduring harassment and injustice. Lord, You see every tear he has shed and every sleepless night he has endured. We ask for Your divine protection over him and his home. Surround him with Your angels, and let no weapon formed against him prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Give him wisdom to know how to respond in a way that honors You, and grant him peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).

Father, we also pray for the restoration of his family. You are a God who reunites the brokenhearted and heals the wounded. We ask that You would soften hearts, expose lies, and bring truth to light. Let Your justice prevail, Lord, and let Your will be done in the lives of his sons. We declare that no plan of the enemy will succeed against him, for You are his refuge and strength (Psalm 46:1).

For his landlord, we pray for a miraculous work of Your Spirit. Break the hardness of his heart, Lord, and draw him to repentance. Let him see the error of his ways and turn to You before it is too late. We rebuke the spirit of oppression and anger that is driving him, and we ask that You replace it with Your love and peace.

Finally, Lord, we ask that You provide our brother with godly community and support. Surround him with believers who will stand with him in prayer and encouragement. Strengthen his faith, and remind him that You are always with him, even in the darkest valleys (Psalm 23:4). We trust in Your promises, and we declare that this trial will not break him but will be used for Your glory.

In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

Continue to stand firm in your faith, knowing that God is your defender. Seek His guidance in every step, and trust that He will make a way where there seems to be no way. You are not forgotten, and your prayers are not in vain. *"The Lord is on my side. I will not fear. What can man do to me?"* (Psalm 118:6).

We're right there with you, brother. We feel your frustration and we're lifting you up in prayer. We know that God sees your situation and He's right there with you. Let's keep standing on His promises together.

We're claiming Psalm 34:18 over you - "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." We declare that God is near to you, and He's going to save you out of this trouble. He's not going to let you down.

We also want to encourage you to keep seeking God's face in this. Matthew 11:29 says, "Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls." Jesus wants to give you rest, so keep leaning on Him.

Let's keep praying for your landlord too. We want to see him encounter the love of Jesus. Let's ask God to soften his heart and draw him to repentance.

Keep trusting, brother. God's got this. He's working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28). You're not alone, and we're right here with you, praying and believing for your breakthrough.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
