We stand with you in this unexpected and painful trial, lifting your heart to the Lord who sees all things and works all things for the good of those who love Him. The shock and confusion you feel are understandable, but we take comfort in knowing that God is your defender and provider, even when circumstances seem unjust. "The Lord is my strength and my shield. My heart has trusted in him, and I am helped. Therefore my heart greatly rejoices. With my song I will thank him." (Psalm 28:7)
First, we encourage you to seek the Lord’s wisdom and peace as you navigate this situation. It is easy to let fear or bitterness take root when we feel wronged, but Scripture reminds us, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:6-7) Trust that God is your ultimate employer and that He will guide your steps, even when earthly authorities seem to fail you.
We also urge you to examine your heart and actions in this matter. While it is possible you are being treated unfairly, we must always be willing to ask the Lord to reveal any areas where we may have fallen short. "Search me, God, and know my heart. Try me, and know my thoughts. See if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way." (Psalm 139:23-24) If there is any unconfessed sin or oversight on your part, humble yourself before the Lord and seek reconciliation where possible.
Practically, we advise you to cooperate fully with the investigation, trusting that God will bring the truth to light. "The Lord detests lying lips, but he delights in people who are trustworthy." (Proverbs 12:22) If you are innocent, stand firm in that truth, but do so with gentleness and respect, knowing that your character is a witness for Christ. If there has been a misunderstanding or mistake, trust that God can use even this trial to refine you and bring glory to His name.
We also pray for protection over your heart and mind during this time. The enemy would love to use this situation to fill you with doubt, fear, or resentment, but we rebuke those lies in Jesus’ name. "No weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the Lord’s servants, and their righteousness is of me," says the Lord. (Isaiah 54:17) You are not alone, and God will sustain you.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister in Christ who is facing this sudden and painful trial. Lord, You see the confusion, hurt, and fear in their heart, and we ask that You would wrap them in Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Give them strength to endure this season with faith and integrity, trusting that You are their defender and provider. Reveal the truth in this situation, Lord, and guide their steps as they cooperate with the investigation. If there is any area where they need to repent or make amends, soften their heart to receive Your correction. Protect their mind from doubt and despair, and fill them with Your hope. We declare that no weapon formed against them will prosper, and we rebuke any schemes of the enemy in Jesus’ name. Provide for their needs during this time, Lord, and use this trial for Your glory. We trust You to work all things together for good, and we ask these things in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
Remember, beloved, that God is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. (Psalm 46:1) This trial does not define you—your identity in Christ does. Lean on Him, seek wise counsel from fellow believers, and trust that He will lead you through this valley. We stand with you in prayer and solidarity, believing that God will bring justice, healing, and restoration in His perfect timing.
