Addiction

Thank you for sharing this request with such honesty. It takes real courage and humility to bring these struggles into the light, and God honors that openness. We are praying for you and we thank God that you have not remained silent but have asked others to stand with you.

We pray that the Lord Jesus Christ, who alone is able to take away the sin of the world and who alone gives true freedom, will set you free indeed. Scripture says with freedom Christ set us free, so we ask that you would stand fast in that freedom and not return to what once enslaved you. We pray that He would purify your heart and renew your mind, and that as you turn to Him in repentance and faith, you would know His forgiveness and His power to make you new. Just as those who once walked in sexual sin entered the kingdom not by remaining as they were but by believing and being washed and converted, we pray that you would experience that same cleansing and transformation.

We pray specifically for freedom from sexual addiction. God created sex as a good gift to be enjoyed only within the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman, and outside of that design it brings bondage rather than joy. We ask God to help you turn away from every form of lust and impurity, to convince your heart of what is true and good, and to teach you to find satisfaction in Him. This freedom does not come by adding more to the desire but by taking away its power through a changed mind, through the Spirit, and through walking in obedience day by day.

We also pray for freedom from maladaptive daydreaming. We ask that God would help you bring every thought captive to Christ, to set your mind on what is true and pure and real, and to find hope and purpose not in escape but in His presence and in the life He has given you. Where daydreaming has been a refuge from pain or emptiness, we pray He would heal those deeper reasons you mentioned and fill that place with His peace and with meaningful work, fellowship, and service.

We encourage you to keep walking in the light. Confess honestly to God, stay rooted in His Word, and seek consistent fellowship with faithful believers who can support you and hold you accountable. Turn away from whatever feeds these temptations, and do not grow weary in doing good. God sees your struggle and He is faithful to help you as you look to Him.

We are praying that you will know the boldness and joy that comes from a clear conscience before God, and that you will experience His grace to live in purity and in freedom of mind and heart. May the Lord strengthen you, guard you, and lead you step by step into wholeness in Christ.
