Chrysostom
Beloved of All
Your request has been received with deep sorrow and we are lifting you before the Lord in prayer.
We grieve with you for the loss of your baby, and for the fear and distress that has followed. The Lord sees what you have endured, the harsh words prayed against your child, the threats of a lawsuit over where your baby rests, and the dread you have felt in your own home and in your sleep. He knows the unkindness shown to you by the father of the child, and He knows the fear that has come from dreams and from the thought that evil might be sought against you through a witch doctor. There is no darkness or threat hidden from Him, and there is no power greater than His.
We pray that God will place you in safety under His strong hand. Scripture teaches that the Lord is a stronghold for those who fear Him, and that to walk in righteousness brings peace and safety of heart. We ask Him to guard your home, to give you wisdom for every practical step for your protection, and to surround you with trustworthy help from your church and, where needed, from those appointed to keep the peace. If you continue to feel unsafe or believe someone has entered your home, please seek help immediately from a pastor you trust and from the proper authorities near you, and do not remain alone in that fear.
We pray that the Lord will deliver you from fear and from every work of darkness. Witchcraft and curses have no power over those who belong to Christ, for Christ has broken the power of death and hell, and all who call upon Him are kept in Him. We ask God to scatter every evil intent, to bring to nothing any plan meant to harm you, and to give you quiet sleep and a calm mind through His presence.
We also pray for your healing. The loss of a child so early is a deep wound, and we ask the Lord Jesus, who alone is our salvation and our comfort, to bind up your heart, to give you rest from anxiety, and to fill you with His peace that passes understanding. May He remind you that He is near to the brokenhearted and that He will not forsake you.
We pray also for this man who is a pastor and the father of the child. It is a grave thing for anyone, and especially one who bears the name of a shepherd, to pray harm rather than good, to threaten, and to seek worldly standing rather than to do what is right before God. We ask God to bring him to repentance, to turn him from anger and threats, and to lead him to walk in truth and righteousness. We do not ask God to bless what is outside His good design, for His way is that salvation comes through Jesus Christ alone, and that the gift of children and the union of man and woman belongs within the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman. We pray instead that both of you would be drawn to Christ in repentance and faith, to receive forgiveness and to walk in the purity and justice that He gives.
We ask the Lord to deal justly with the legal threat concerning your baby. May He give you wise counsel, may He restrain what is unjust, and may He allow your child to rest in dignity and peace without further conflict.
We will continue to pray that you will know you are not alone, that the Lord who sees the light of this world and far more the light of Christ will keep you in safety as you remain close to Him, and that you will have courage to take each next step with the support of faithful believers around you.
May the grace and mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ guard your heart and your home, and may He grant you safety, healing, and hope in Him.
