A new place home where I can get the kitten i wanted

Do not seek a miracle for these things. You set your heart upon a kitten, a place of your own, control over your inheritance and your work, and you name this a miracle with the blood of Jesus. But examine your desire, lest you be like those who followed only for the food that perishes. There are many who, aiming at the ease or the pleasure that signs might bring, fell away and perished. Care of practice and love of virtue do not generate such a longing; they take it away when it exists.

Consider John: he did no miracle at all, yet he fixed the attention of entire cities upon his witness. What made him admirable was not a wondrous work, but his boldness, his zeal for God, his voluntary poverty. What miracle did Job work that the devil should be amazed? None. It was a life that shone with an endurance firmer than adamant. What dead body did Abraham raise, what leper did Isaac cleanse? Yet they were men after God's own heart. If you are sober, you will see that miracles, except we be watchful, often do harm. Many were severed, many carried away with pride on account of them.

You ask for a place where you may control your lifestyle. But the Lord may desire to make you a dwelling place for Himself. A house in ruin is not propped up and patched; it is pulled down to its foundations and rebuilt anew. This is the regeneration He works, making us new by His Spirit. Why then do you set your mind on a kitten and your own governance of circumstances? The true miracle is that God should renew a stubborn and disobedient heart, not that He should soften it with outward blessings. That is what we should marvel at.

Endure, and seek a mind strong in the Scriptures and a life of virtue. Do not let your faith hang upon getting what you desire. The apostles waxed confident when they were in bonds, because the tongue cannot be bound; the preaching runs the more. So let your trust in Christ's blood be for the cleansing of your soul and the patience to bear whatever He appoints, whether a job you keep or one you lose, whether a place of your own or a humble shelter. That is the inheritance that cannot be controlled by any earthly power: a heart made new, which no man, no circumstance, can take away.

I hear the deep longing in your words, your desire for a home of your own, a place where you can finally make room for the things you love, like that little kitten you had your heart set on. It stings when someone says “no” to something good and innocent, especially when you feel trapped and unable to direct your own life. That ache for independence, for a job you can hold and even excel at, isn’t lost on the Lord. He knows our need for provision and a settled dwelling.

Your situation brings to mind a man in Scripture named Job. He lost everything, his home, his livelihood, and the children he loved, in a single crushing wave of disasters. What made it worse was that his friends came to him with all the wrong counsel. They insisted he must have committed some secret sin to suffer so badly. Their logic was simple: do right, get blessed; do wrong, suffer. But they were completely mistaken. Job hadn’t done anything to deserve what fell on him. His agony wasn’t a punishment, and the roadblocks in your path aren’t always a sign of God’s displeasure either.

Job kept crying out for answers, for someone who could stand between him and God and make sense of it all. He didn’t understand why his plans lay in ruins. And like Job, you’re not wrong to bring your desires plainly before the Lord. He wants you to pour out your heart. But be careful not to slip into the trap of thinking that you can seize control of your blessings by a formula, as if the blood of Jesus were a key to unlock a specific house or a particular job title. That precious blood did something far greater: it opened the way for you to be reconciled to the living God, who is your real inheritance. Through Christ, you already have an eternal home no landlord can deny and a security no boss can fire you from.

The cry of Job for a “daysman”, a mediator to lay his hand on both God and man, finds its answer in Jesus. He understands the weight of disappointment. He hears when you say, “I just wanted that kitten; I wanted a place of my own.” Yet He calls you to a deeper trust, one that doesn’t hinge on getting every request met on your schedule. When Job finally met God face to face, he stopped demanding and started resting in who God is. The same God who at last restored Job’s fortunes is watching over you. He hasn’t forgotten your needs for a safe place and meaningful work.

So don’t give up. Bring your requests, yes, pray for that miracle of provision, for a job where you can thrive, for the freedom to create a home. But hold those hopes with open hands. Lay your inheritance from the Lord not at the feet of a landlord or an employer, but at the feet of the One who already gave everything for you. He sees the whole picture, and even when the answer is “wait” or “not this way,” He is working for your good. The patience of Job didn’t mean silent resignation; it meant he kept talking to God even through the confusion. Do the same. Rest in the mediator who stands for you, and let Him shape your desires until they align with the unshakable kingdom you already possess.

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer these past days. It has been our joy to lift your heart’s desires before the Lord—your longing for a place to call your own, a home where you can welcome that sweet kitten and live freely according to the lifestyle He has placed in your heart. We’ve prayed earnestly that God would open doors no man can shut, providing a secure and blessed dwelling where you can steward your inheritance from Him with wisdom and peace.

We’ve also asked the Lord to guide you into the right job—one where your gifts are valued, your efforts are fruitful, and your position is secure, so you can walk in the fullness of His provision. We believe He hears these prayers, and we trust His timing is perfect, even when the wait feels long.

If God has already answered any of these requests—whether it’s a new home, a job opportunity, or the simple joy of that kitten in your arms—we would love to celebrate with you! Please share a praise report so we can rejoice together in His faithfulness.

If the answers haven’t come yet, we invite you to post this request again as a fresh prayer need. We are committed to continuing in agreement with you, lifting these burdens before the throne of grace until you see His promises fulfilled. Remember, He is working even when we can’t see it, and His plans for you are good.

May the Lord bless you abundantly as you seek Him, trusting in His love and provision. We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus. Amen.
