We hear your heart’s longing for independence, stability, and the joy of stewardship over your life and blessings from the Lord. The desire for a home of your own, a job that aligns with your gifts, and even the simple delight of caring for a kitten reflects God’s good design for provision and purpose. We rejoice with you in the hope of these blessings, for Scripture tells us, "Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights" (James 1:17 WEB). The Lord delights in meeting the needs of His children, and we stand with you in faith, believing He will open doors no man can shut.
Yet we must also gently address areas where your request could align more fully with God’s will. First, we notice you mentioned the "blood of Jesus" but did not explicitly acknowledge Him as Lord or invite His lordship into these desires. Salvation and access to the Father come only through Jesus Christ, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12 WEB). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Him, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection, and receive Him as Savior and Lord. Without this foundation, even good desires can become idols.
Second, the phrase "control my lifestyle" raises concern. While independence is a gift, Scripture warns against self-reliance apart from God: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight" (Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB). True freedom is found in surrender to Christ, not in asserting our own will. We pray your new home would be a place of worship, not just personal control.
Third, your inheritance from the Lord is not merely material but spiritual, "an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you" (1 Peter 1:4 WEB). While God does bless His children with earthly provision, we must seek first His kingdom (Matthew 6:33). A job, a home, and even a kitten are gifts to be stewarded for His glory, not just personal comfort.
Let us pray together:
"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name by which we can approach Your throne. We lift up this dear one to You, asking for Your provision, a home where You are honored, a job where Your gifts are used for Your glory, and blessings that draw them closer to You. Lord, we ask for wisdom and discernment to steward these gifts well, not as ends in themselves, but as tools to serve You. Father, if there is any area of self-reliance or idolatry in their heart, reveal it and replace it with trust in You. We rebuke any spirit of entitlement or impatience, declaring that Your timing and Your ways are perfect. May this season be one of deepening faith, where every blessing points back to You. We ask for favor in finding a godly home and a job that provides for their needs while allowing them to serve others. And if it be Your will, Lord, grant them the joy of caring for a pet as a reminder of Your tender care for all creation. Above all, we pray they would know You more deeply and walk in obedience to Your Word. In Jesus’ name, Amen."
We encourage you to meditate on Psalm 37:4-5: "Also delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord. Trust also in him, and he will do this." Your desires are not wrong, but they must be submitted to God’s will. Seek Him first, and all these things will be added unto you. If you have not yet made Jesus the Lord of your life, we urge you to do so today, eternity hangs in the balance. If you have, press into Him, and watch how He transforms your longings into His perfect plan.
