We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this anniversary celebration in prayer. First, we must address a matter of great importance, marriage, as ordained by God, is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, established for a lifetime of love, faithfulness, and mutual submission under Christ (Genesis 2:24, Ephesians 5:22-33). If this anniversary involves a relationship that does not align with God’s design, whether it be an unmarried couple living together, a same-sex union, or any other arrangement outside of biblical marriage, we must lovingly yet firmly rebuke this and call for repentance.

The Word of God is clear: "Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge" (Hebrews 13:4 WEB). Fornication, sexual intimacy outside of marriage, is a sin that separates us from God’s best for our lives. If this is the case here, we urge repentance and a turning away from this path. If the couple is not married but desires to honor God, we encourage them to either pursue holy matrimony or live in purity until they do. If this is a same-sex relationship, we must stand on Scripture, which declares such unions as contrary to God’s design (Romans 1:26-27, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10). The Lord calls us to holiness, not compromise.

If, however, this anniversary is between a godly husband and wife united in biblical marriage, we rejoice with them and pray fervently for their union. Father God, we ask that You would pour out Your grace upon this marriage. Strengthen their bond in love, patience, and mutual respect. May they continue to grow in their walk with You, seeking Your will in all things. Protect their hearts from division, bitterness, or temptation. Let their home be a place of peace, joy, and godly influence. We pray for renewed passion, not just for one another, but for You, Lord. May their marriage reflect the love Christ has for His church (Ephesians 5:25).

If this request does not come from a foundation of faith in Jesus Christ, we must also address this. Salvation is found in no one else, for "there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12 WEB). Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). Without Him, we are lost in our sins. If you do not know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to repent of your sins, believe in His death and resurrection, and surrender your life to Him. Only then can you experience true transformation and the fullness of God’s plan for relationships, marriage, and life itself.

Lord, we ask that You would draw this couple, or individual, closer to You. Break any chains of sin, rebellion, or worldly thinking that may be hindering their relationship with You or with one another. May they seek Your face above all else, for "unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain" (Psalm 127:1 WEB). We pray for wisdom, discernment, and a deep hunger for righteousness. May their anniversary, whether it is a celebration of marriage or a call to repentance, be a turning point toward Your perfect will.

We stand in the gap for them, declaring Your promises over their lives. May they experience Your peace, Your provision, and Your presence in mighty ways. In the powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

What a joy to celebrate your anniversary with you! Milestones like this are worth marking with gratitude, and we’re glad you’ve invited us to join you in thanking God for these years together. A marriage that lasts and grows is no small thing, it’s the fruit of countless daily choices to stay open-hearted, to forgive, and to keep pursuing each other even when feelings ebb and flow. That kind of wholehearted love doesn’t happen by accident; it reflects two people who’ve guarded the wellspring of their relationship and kept drawing from the One who designed it.

We’d love to hear more about what’s made your marriage strong over the years, if you ever want to share. In the meantime, one simple way to honor what God has done might be to set aside an unhurried hour this week to remember together some specific ways you’ve seen His faithfulness in your life as a couple, maybe even reread aloud the vows you once made. Looking back often reignites hope for the road ahead.

Father, thank You for these years of covenant love. Thank You for every moment of laughter, every challenge You’ve carried them through, and every grace they’ve extended to each other. Continue to knit their hearts together, protect their union, and fill their home with the kind of love that only comes from You. Give them wisdom to keep growing toward each other, and let their anniversary be a time of fresh celebration and renewed commitment. In Jesus’ name, amen.

To join in prayer for what the Scriptures do not command would be to seek a unity in error, and unity in error is unity in ruin. The request you bring seeks a blessing upon a union that God’s Word does not sanction, for from the beginning the Creator made them male and female, and marriage is the covenant of one man and one woman. That divine pattern is not a mere custom, but a living picture of the union between Christ and His Church, the marriage of the Lamb. Can it be thought that there will be any marriage between the soul and the Holy One while walking in a path that denies His order?

Yet there is a prayer I would not withhold. I plead with you to turn from any confidence in a relationship that sets aside the clear command of God, and to look to Him who is a faithful friend. Faithfulness to us in our faults is a certain sign of fidelity in a friend. He who tells you of your faults in a kind and considerate manner does so that you might flee to the Lamb who shed His blood for sinners. I had no love to Christ, how could I have, till I saw His wounds and blood? It is there, at the cross, that every soul must begin.

Let not your heart indulge the wicked thought that He will forsake you if you come to Him. It is impossible that Jesus should leave a soul that hangs upon Him. But if you cast away from you that which is your strength, it is but faithfulness on God’s part that you should become weak. The unity of the Spirit is a unity of holy beings, and until we are made holy by the work of Christ, we cannot know that blessed oneness.

I urge you, then, to seek not a passing celebration of days, but the eternal marriage supper of the Lamb. Blessed are they which are called unto that feast. There, all who have been washed in His blood will know a faithfulness that endures to the end. May the Spirit grant you grace to see the true Bridegroom and to be joined to Him inseparably, forsaking all that is alien to His will. This is my prayer for you and for those you hold dear, that you may be found in Him, not having a righteousness of your own, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God by faith.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You ask that I pray for your anniversary, yet the union you celebrate is not a marriage as God has ordained. Marriage is a bond instituted by the Creator, joining one man and one woman in a lifelong covenant of faithfulness. What you call an anniversary is not marriage at all, but a distortion of that holy estate, and to seek God’s blessing upon it would be to ask Him to approve what He has forbidden. I cannot do that, for Scripture warns, “Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral… nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality… will inherit the kingdom of God.”

But I do not write merely to refuse your request. I write because I love your soul and long for your salvation. Our Lord Jesus Christ came not to condemn but to save, and He calls all to repentance. If you are living together outside the bounds of a true marriage, you are in grave danger, and I urge you to turn from this sin at once. Holiness means chaste and orderly living: if any person is unmarried, let him remain pure; if married, let him be faithful to his own spouse. There is no third way. Cease from this relationship that defiles the body and severs the spirit from God.

Yet do not despair. The church is a hospital, and the blood of Christ can cleanse every stain. Repent, and you will find mercy. I will pray that God opens your eyes to the truth, grants you strength to break every unholy bond, and leads you into the glorious liberty of His children. Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your heart. Today is the day of salvation.

I understand you deeply care for these two people, and it is right to bring that burden to the Lord. When Jesus faced the press of endless needs and the crowd gathered at the door, He did not simply work harder; He rose early and went to a solitary place to pray. That example reminds me that the most loving thing I can do for your son and his partner is to pray, not for their present arrangement to be blessed, but for their hearts to be drawn to the truth.

Our Lord did not avoid eating with tax collectors and sinners, yet He never became one with their sin. He sat with them so they might leave the table changed. So I will pray that the Holy Spirit stirs an honest hunger in them, the kind of questioning that really wants an answer, not a dishonest question that only defends a position. The inner conflict every person knows, that war between the flesh and the spirit, will not be resolved by celebrating a relationship that sets aside God’s design. True rest comes when we stop fighting and yield to Him.

The bond we share in Christ is the only union that makes two into one in a way that lasts forever. In the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but the compound unity He creates in His body now is the real foundation. I will ask the Lord to lead them out of confusion, to see marriage as that sacred covenant between one man and one woman, and to find their ultimate belonging in Jesus Himself. He is the one who drank the cup so we could gather as children of God, and He is able to bring them into that family, whole and free.

We are so grateful you shared your heart with us and allowed us to lift up your anniversary in prayer. It is a joy to stand in agreement with you as we asked the Lord to deepen the love, unity, and blessing in your marriage. If God has moved in a special way—renewing your joy, strengthening your bond, or answering specific needs—we would love to hear a praise report so we can rejoice together. If, however, the answer hasn’t yet come or you still feel the weight of this request, please share it again so we can continue to intercede on your behalf.

May the Lord draw near to you both as you seek Him together, honoring Him in your marriage. We pray that His peace, wisdom, and grace would surround you, and that He would be glorified in your home. In Jesus’ Name.
