We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up these precious souls who are struggling with depression, unemployment, broken relationships, and the chains of addiction. Father God, we know that You see each one of them, You know their pain, their loneliness, and the burdens they carry. We ask that You would move mightily in their lives, breaking every chain of darkness and bringing the light of Your hope and salvation.

First, we pray for deliverance from depression. The weight of despair can feel crushing, Lord, but You are the God who heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds (Psalm 147:3). We rebuke the spirit of heaviness in the name of Jesus and command it to flee. Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7) and remind them that they are never alone, You are with them always (Matthew 28:20). Strengthen their minds and hearts, Lord, and let them feel Your presence in tangible ways.

For the one without work, we ask for Your provision. You are Jehovah Jireh, the God who provides (Genesis 22:14). Open doors of opportunity that no man can shut (Revelation 3:8) and give them favor in the eyes of those who can help. Remove any fear or doubt and replace it with faith, knowing that You will supply all their needs according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). Give them patience and perseverance as they wait on You.

For the broken relationship, we pray for restoration, but only if it aligns with Your will. If there is hardness of heart, pride, or unforgiveness, soften their hearts, Lord. Help them to see one another through Your eyes and to extend grace and reconciliation where it is possible. "If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men" (Romans 12:18). But above all, we pray that their relationship would honor You, whether that means restoration or walking separate paths in Your peace.

We also lift up their salvation. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved except the name of Jesus Christ (Acts 4:12). If they have not yet surrendered their lives to Him, we pray that the Holy Spirit would convict their hearts and draw them to repentance. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). We declare that today is the day of salvation (2 Corinthians 6:2) and ask that they would confess with their mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in their hearts that God raised Him from the dead (Romans 10:9).

For the bondage of addiction, we stand in agreement for complete deliverance. Addiction is a stronghold, but You are stronger, Lord. "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" (1 Corinthians 10:13). We rebuke the spirit of addiction in the name of Jesus and command it to leave. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, Lord, and let them walk in freedom, knowing that "if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed" (John 8:36).

For inner healing, we ask that You would heal every wound, those seen and unseen. You are the God who restores (Joel 2:25), and we ask that You would mend what has been broken. Heal their memories, their emotions, and their spirits. Let them experience Your love in a deep and personal way, knowing that You are close to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18).

We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name (Philippians 2:9). We declare that these chains are broken, these burdens are lifted, and these lives are set free. May they come to know You as their Savior, Healer, Provider, and Deliverer. Strengthen them, Lord, and let them rise up in the power of Your might. We trust You to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). Amen.

Thank you for letting us stand with you in prayer for , , and . It is a heavy thing when several people you love are all walking through such hard valleys, depression, unemployment, estrangement, addiction, and the deep need for inner healing and salvation. You are carrying a lot, and we do not take that lightly.

Right now, we are asking God to meet each of them right where they are. For , the weight of depression and the loss of meaningful work can feel impossible to lift alone. Sometimes the most caring thing we can do is gently encourage someone toward professional help, a doctor or a Christian counselor who can come alongside. At the same time, simply being a steady, nonjudgmental presence in his life may quietly remind him he is not forgotten. For and , the silence between you is painful. When the time feels right, a brief, warm note that simply says “I love you and I’m here” can crack open a door without pushing it too hard. Rebuilding trust often starts with small steps.

We join you in praying for their salvation, deliverance from addiction, and inner healing, always with hope, but also with the wisdom that deep emotional wounds and stubborn addictions usually need both prayer and practical help.

Jesus, we ask You to draw near to in his depression and joblessness. Give him a sense of worth that is anchored in You, and bring people around him who can offer real help. For and , soften whatever has grown hard; bring them into the freedom of knowing You and release them from any addiction that entangles them. We pray for their complete inner healing, that You would touch the memories and hurts only You can mend. And for our friend who is praying, give Your own steady peace and clear wisdom. In Your name, we pray. Amen.

Dark seasons of unemployment and a fainting spirit are themselves a bitter Egypt to the soul. Yet the very desperation of that place is where the Lord delights to work deliverance, for He alone brings His people forth with a high hand and an outstretched arm. When a man sinks under depression and feels he can do nothing, he has reached the schoolroom where free grace becomes his only lesson. The honor of rescue cannot rest upon the rescued one; it must be of the Lord entirely. That heaviness which presses now is the anvil upon which eternal love will strike the sparks of mercy, for the clock of deliverance is set by Heaven’s own purpose, and not a moment too soon will the Sun of Righteousness arise with healing beneath His wings.

Concerning those who turn away their speech from you, remember the brook Jabbok. There, fear of a brother’s wrath dissolved the heart into trembling, and yet when the waters were crossed, grace had gone ahead. The very one from whom estrangement was expected fell upon a neck and kissed it. The Lord who softened Esau’s heart after twenty years of separation is not hindered by any silence between souls. He makes the leaves of that celestial tree, even the least and outermost things of Christ’s mediation, to carry healing for the wounds of broken fellowship. Wait upon Him who reconciles enemies to Himself, and trust Him for the mending of earthly bonds in His own time.

For the great matter of salvation itself, the way stands open and in plainest speech. The Scripture says, Whoever believes on Him shall not be ashamed. It is not a system, not a ceremony, not a self-wrought reformation; it is believing on a Person, the Lord Jesus Christ, whom God has laid in Zion for a sure foundation. Unto Him every end of the earth is bidden to look, and one glance of true faith brings the whole ransom into the soul’s possession. This salvation is God’s invention, God’s gift, and God’s delight; it requires no money, no merit, no prolonged penance. The blackest sinner finds in Christ a pardon so full that only infinite love could have conceived it.

Addiction and the inner wounds that feed it are but chains of the same cruel captivity. Yet there is healing power in Christ not only for the grosser fruit of sin but for the very leaves of our sorrow, the small and intricate distresses that twine about the spirit. These healing leaves change the lifeblood, affect the spirits, and make the nature other than it was before. When the Lamb was slain, Pharaoh’s grip could hold no longer. Deliverance from any bondage of the flesh or imagination is found beneath that same blood-stained lintel. Let the three souls be laid before Him who is able to subdue all things unto Himself. The hand that brought Israel from the brick-kilns is not shortened; the voice that calmed the raging sea speaks peace to inward tempests.

This is the sum of the Gospel for every one of these sorrows: look unto Christ and be saved. In the night of despair, look. In the ache of estrangement, look. In the grip of enslaving habits, look. Relinquish the whole tangled mass of distress into His hands with unquestioning confidence, for His honor is engaged to save the meanest of His sheep. The salvation He gives is irreversible, and the joy He restores is His own work, so that all boasting is shut out and all gratitude rises to Him alone. May the eternal purpose of grace accomplish its full design in each heart, bringing them forth with silver and gold of spiritual wealth, until every one of the three sings the songs of deliverance and finds that not one of the leaves of the healing tree has failed to do its office.
